- Travel along with me to the South Carolina Midlands as I explore a riverside boardwalk and concrete path with awesome bridges and tremendous views of the Congaree River! The West Columbia Riverwalk is the name of the trail.
This trail connects directly to the Cayce Riverwalk in Cayce, SC. To view our video on that trail, click here: • Exploring the Cayce Ri...
I'm Scott. I explore, review and rate bike trails on this channel...and hopefully find a little joy in the journey. Thanks for watching!

thank you. a smile and a chuckle on a monday morning. your South Caroline videos make me want to take a month and ride all the wonderful trails, but I have hundreds of Pa, trails to ride.
Thanks for watching! I have some friends in Pennsylvania...maybe I can make it up there to ride in retirement. :)
Nice, relaxing trail. Job well done Scott.
Thank you!
We love to hit the trail in the morning at the other end in Cayce and bike to West Columbia for breakfast. Breakfast at Ruiz being our favorite, but there are quite a few choices. Then bike back. 13 mile round trip makes a perfect morning ride.
There ya go! That sounds nice…
I don't know if it is the catchy commentary or the slap stick humor that draws me to your videos but keep them coming.
Ha ha... I don't know if it's a gift or a sickness... 😆 Thanks for watching!
Nice video Scott! This is my home trail. It’s great to leave my back door and get 11 miles out and back between this and the Cayce Riverwalk. Truly I think of them as one entity. Very lucky to be close to safe riding. You’ll need to come back as Columbia continues to expand and connect our greenways! Cheers!
Yeah, the first time I rode my bike there, I didn't see the "West Columbia Riverwalk" sign, so I thought it was all one trail. But it just works better for my purposes on TH-cam to split it up. End up with three 12-min. videos instead of one 30-min! You're right, the Columbia area has some great trails.
can't wait for the future when they all connect! There are plans underway @@joyfultrails
Another great video and commentary. I’ve noticed your subscriber number is increasing at a faster pace. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing the video.
Yeah! How about that... I think consistency has been key. The TH-cam gurus are correct...you have to just keep pluggin' away! Thanks for your supportive words.
You really missed out on the best fried chicken at a restaurant (Rush's)! Maybe next time haha. I love this trail when you ride it plus the Cayce together. The opposite end of the Cayce trail is very woodsy and historic, but you have to go through a neighborhood to get to it...totally worth it though. Thanks again!
Yes! The Timmerman Trail! I’ve got a video coming up on that southern end of the Cayce in 2 or 3 weeks. Next time I go to Rush’s I’ll definitely try the chicken. 😋
I had to look up West Wyoming, PA just because.. I Agree.. it’s a very scenic River Trail.. but a little on the Short side.. I thought the trail was definitely on the narrow side.. I like your wacky sense a humor 🤪
Yeah...it helps if you combine with the Cayce Riverwalk...and then keep going on the south end until you reach Timmerman Trail. All three are sort of connected.
Fantastic work
As a keen trail rider and video maker / editor I know how much work you put into that , I am inspired.
Thanks! Not every viewer can appreciate the time/work/effort of shooting and editing. I love it, though. I enjoy creating the videos almost as much as riding the trails. I subscribed to your channel; looks like we have visited some of the same places.
Did your bike come with those handlebars? Gotta love the swept back design, makes riding so much more comfy. I wonder when will Scott come to the dark side and get an e bike.
Yep...those handlebars are standard, factory stock issue with Townies! I wouldn't be able to ride all hunched over. As for e-bikes...probably in another year or so!
Did you say how long it is? I missed it if you did. Anyway, love your approach to these videos.
I never keep track when I'm on a trail because there's so much stopping and restarting (to get video shots)...and it's hard to find accurate info online. Best guess (based on a website I found) is that if you combine the Cayce Riverwalk and West Columbia Riverwalk, it's about 8 miles. Thanks for watching!
Was this filmed recently? The trees are still so green
No, I think it was August 2023.
Lexington actually lies to the west of West Columbia; not east.
I stand corrected!
