    Any word on rebuilding these? I know guys with ZR2 Colorado that had them puker after only 5k miles.
    Mine made it 40k

    Build good truck but why install garbage shocks. not worth money they charge for them

    It's a cool shock if they didn't have leaking issues. I'm buying the King ZR2 shocks this fall, I know those will be far more durable.

      Have yours leaked? Mine are doing great and I know 4 other people with them and none of us have had issues, but we have all read online that it happens. Wondering if it is just over blown.

    Too bad the seals blow around 36k miles sometimes even as soon as 10k with minimal off-road use. Had to swap to Kings in the rear because warranty wouldn't cover it and dealership wanted $1300 for one shock. Oh and can't be rebuilt.
    The DSSV's are fantastic but longevity and maintenance makes them a one off then replace with something that's gonna last longer and be easier to maintain.

    People trash talk this shocks but they are decent shocks for anyone that does off road but not extreme off roading, mine starting to leak when i took my truck to the snow some people say that lower temperatures make them leak but who knows. This shock serve their purpose until they didnt. Anyone with zr2 i would recommend going to fox if you do extreme off road (thats what i run), or cheaper option king shock or icon . Also do recommend shock relocation for anyone with a zr2 2nd gen

    They're trash. Less than 30k miles on my daily driven truck and I have a leaking rear. Upgrade to kings

      Yes very. Dealerships will charge $1300 just for one. You can find them on GM parts direct for 600. But they can't be rebuilt so that's Everytime you have to replace one.

    You hardly feel bumps with these. Very stiff, maybe a little too stiff lol.

      You gotta buy a zr2 first, and then you'll want to just drive the zr2. Drive your hotrod as a hotrod. What kind of of hotrod is it? Built on a truck chassis?

    Winning points of ZR2: front and rear lockers and diesel engine availability (has to be after market tuned for decent performance). Losing points these p.o.s. shocks and the lack of a manual transmission.

      Cal Ripson you’ve obviously never ridden on this suspension system. I love it. Truly has a slightly stiffer feel on the road to maintain handling but once off road you can literally feel them loosen up and coast over rough stuff. Plus they stay way cooler then a traditional shock. Hands down best suspension system I’ve ever owned.

    Worst part of the truck. They are overly complex and prone to leak. Would much rather replace them with after market off road shocks. Typical GM solution that f ups an otherwise pretty good truck.

      I wouldn't necessarily say they are the worst part of the truck. They are fantastic when they work and I've absolutely loved them however yes they don't last, can't be rebuilt, and are expensive as fuck to replace
