I think the lo-fi only adds to the personality of the record. It makes it seem relatable almost. It isn't glossy and over-polished. It is raw like the emotions Mat is feeling, and I think it makes the album better in every way.
As much as I love Cal, the thought of him standing in the corner of my room in the dark disturbs me to no end. Loved this album :) Although I agree with MrSplatterPlatter below me...why, why, why do the Antlers not affect you but this guy does? The sadness in Hospice was so real it hurt.

I was quite impressed with it. My favorites are "Business as Usual", "Caroline, Please Kill Me" & "Whatevering". Very light 7/10.
