SEA TROUT fishing with a lure and a TEASER FLY!

Another sea trout fishing session after I opened the 2022 fishing season recently. I was fishing on the west coast of Sweden at the Kungsbacka Fjord not far from Gothenburg. This time I was testing a new rig: a lure and a teaser fly, also called a teaser rig. I used such a teaser rig before, but without success. Anyways, I wanted to try it again. The teaser rig provides an opportunity to present two baits simultaneously to the fish that may strike the teaser fly due to the perceived competition with the trailing lure. The only disadvantage with the teaser rig, in my opinion, is higher chances to get snagged with the lure if the fish takes the teaser fly. This time, the use of the teaser fly worked and I will definitely test it again in the upcoming fishing sessions.
My gear:
- Rod: Savage Gear Parabellum CCS 9'2" 10-30 g.
- Reel: Daiwa 20 Ninja LT 4000-C Pitch Black.
- braided main line with a diameter of 0.18 mm, fluorocarbon leader with a diameter of 0.4 mm and a length of 2-3 m.

- Savage Gear Seeker ISP 87mm 16g NL 03-Fluo UV Red Black
- Savage Gear Seeker ISP 87mm 16g NL 04-Black Pearl
- Nice TiED Shrimp Pink # 4

Instead of using a dropper the line can be tied to the bend of the fly hook using the fly like a straight link to the spinner, no dropper. This leads to better movement, presentation and less tangles and is just neater overall

Yes. Larger they are, sharper the teeth.

I use Daiwa size 4000. The cheapest models work fine for me, like Laguna and Ninja

I'd say he was chasing the fly and got foul hooked by the lure . Also when they take the fly the lure has a very high chance of getting snagged .

Agree. It is hard to land the fish when it takes a fly and there is a lot of seaweed around
