I find it so fascinating that Sandy being a girl has rarely ever mattered in the series. She's one of the rare female leads where people don't complain about her being surrounded by guys most of the time. She does fall into the clichie of the girl who is more efficient and smarter then the guys but she doesn't become a nag.
Her and Squidward have about the same level of intelligence. The only difference between them is Squidward is more of a pompous narcissist while Sandy's pride is more subdued unless actively provoked. Early SpongeBob tended to use the traits of real world sea creatures and animals to dictate their personalities, i.e. sea stars and sea sponges don't have brains so SpongeBob and Patrick aren't very smart, crabs horde shiny objects so that's a canon reason why Mr. Krabs is so money-grubbing, dolphins have intelligence on par with humans so they're treated as super-intelligent beings and Sandy is one of the smartest characters on the show because she's a warm-blooded mammal with higher intelligence compared to most of the sea creatures.
All I think of when *that* episode is mentioned, is that one fish with the disgustingly large lips, and particularly the scene where said lips crumble into dust before falling off of the fish's face.
It made no sense making her a flying squirrel. Since being a simple land squirrel makes more sense for Science ambitions. Also never saw her as a CIRCUS performer. She did BULLRIDING, she wasn't the CLOWN. Her family owned a FARM in the original plot.
The funny thing is that original show already did that kinda in the Karate Island episode where Sandy rescued SpongeBob from evil karate masters who try to sell real estate
SpongeBob started out as iconic for the first three seasons and then it was just OK for most of the seasons after it but then, when Stephen Hillenburg came back, it got better; but then it turned not as good again, that's when I stopped watching it.
Honestly the season RIGHT after the first movie was great, but after that.. Mostly turds, with some occasional good ones. Like Plankton Paranoia, got some chuckles out of me.
The robot to fish idea seems like they just wanted more CGI for no reason Sandy’s story arc could’ve been losing contact with her science companions, the villain reveal being that she was sent there to see if she would survive under water and then the villain shrinks herself to move into Bikini Bottom like to live like Sandy The start with “I’m doing this to clone you for profit” and then back track to “I’m actually doing this because I love sea creatures” doesn’t feel like it fits If her robot form was made to make her be able to survive underwater (but it failed) then at least the reveal would make more sense
honestly I watched this absolutely stoned with my older brother and it's one of the best stoner movies I've ever watched it's so bad it's good watch high and you'll love it

This movie is heartbreaking to me. I'm a sucker for SpongeBob and Sandy going on adventures together. Pre-Hibernation Week is my all time favourite episode. You'd think I'd eat it all up. The premise sounds amazing: Bikini Bottom is hoisted out of the ocean and placed into an aquarium so Sandy and SpongeBob have to go to the surface to get it back. It has a genuinely strong opening. The moment the two get to Texas, the plot takes a nosedive. I've read fanfics about SpongeBob meeting Sandy's family. "Spandy" shippers outdid the official showrunners. I swear to God, the whole movie feels like Kaz (the writer) is taking advantage of shoehorning his fetishes into an official product and getting paid for it. The only parts of the movie I remember is when SpongeBob sniffs poo and Sandy gets bitten by a snake and caused an explosion of inflation porn.
Don't forget the feet tickling scene. This movie is both an insult to the SpongeBob-Sandy formula and an insult to this franchise itself. Stephen would be rolling in his grave. Some 25th anniversary special.

I think the main issue is the timing of all these spinoff movies and shows. It is said that Stephen did not want spinoffs of his cartoon so it already would've been slightly disrepectful if Nick did it anyway while he was alive. But the fact that they waited until his death to start making spinoffs just leaves an even more bitter taste than if they did it while he was alive.
If I could, I would seriously pitch to Nickelodeon the idea of an animated adaptation of the stage musical. I saw it and it was excellent. To me, it was a terrific celebration of what made the franchise special. A 2D feature film based on it would be an awesome idea to end the entire franchise since after 25 years on the air, it has officially worn out its welcome. Of course the concept has a few strict rules that have to be followed to a T or else no deal. 1.) It has to be 2D animated. Non of this 3D stuff that’s disrespectful to the franchise. 2.) It has to be released in movie theaters and not dumped on a streaming service. This is to be an event 3.) The script has to follow the musical word for word and no changes. While I understand that a 2 hour SpongeBob adventure is pushing it but I can’t think of anything cuts that would have a bad effect on the story 4.) I think the scenes that feature Patchy the Pirate could be rewritten to work on film. 5.) Perhaps the stars of the stage production could make a short appearance 6.) The finale has to feature EVERY character from the series and various spinoffs. Try to picture ALL the characters singing the theme song I don’t know if I will ever pitch the idea but I think it would be excellent to end this washed up franchise without jumping the shark (pun intended)
One thing im really mad about is after they drop the patty tablet thingys into bikini bottom, one fish says "its a bunch of phase ones!"...they know about the plan...either they heard the ad or saw it, they know that they will basically die to be mass cloned, if they know why are they eating them

This movie was clearly made as a cash-grab. Nobody on the production team cares if it was good or bad, just that it would make money while also spending as little money as possible. And also the shameless fetish scenes, which range from mediocre to why to somebody get me an RPG. You know, I’ve noticed that these children movies tend to have an awful lot of fetish material in them. Children don’t know it’s fetish material, they just think it’s funny. Makes me wonder if they’re doing that for a reason… I’m not saying anything outright, it’s just a thought I had.

In my opinion they should made it like she goes to the surface by herself and she sees her parents but she’s getting peer pressured into running the family business like her family is selfish making her work for them then after a couple weeks of her being forced to work SpongeBob and the gang realise she’s missing and find her and free her and they all live happily ever after the end I think that would be a great plot line

Nickelodeon seems really proud of this movie since they’re making a Christmas special featuring the characters introduced in Saving Bikini Bottom.
I feel like fans can work with the story, modified the script, then it should be a good movie because fans do it better than studios.

This movie was clearly made as a cash-grab. Nobody on the production team cares if it was good or bad, just that it would make money while also spending as little money as possible. And also the shameless fetish scenes, which range from mediocre to why to somebody get me an RPG.
You know, I’ve noticed that these children movies tend to have an awful lot of fetish material in them. Children don’t know it’s fetish material, they just think it’s funny. Makes me wonder if they’re doing that for a reason… I’m not saying anything outright, it’s just a thought I had.

ima share my personal criticisms, i wish theyd first of all go back to the old 1-2 movies designs besides the cgi in the 2nd im sure not many people are digging this style and thats just first of all they should just ditch these ugly designs and make some proper earlier looking designs, i hate how shows/almost legit anything makes their new introduced characters look so ugly and so different compared to everything else, like idk if im just biased but the new designs with like almost anything always look bad, they never fit in the same world they were designed for, i think the creators nailed the main characters along with the old background fish, now they just introduce whoever just because and im tired of it, no episode feels special anymore, and most of all them just dont work, if you’re going out of the way to make a 1 off character atleast make it visually appealing + atleast give an interesting story to go off, new spongebob lacks all of that, but i will say that there is an occasional good joke but thats like the only thing i like abt modern sb tbh, i love the first two movies but im not even interested to see the third one + i didn’t even know it happened and the sandy cheeks movie is the definition of a disaster, i guarantee if you look up “define garbage” this movie will pop up, i dont think anything in this movie worked, plus it seems like a child made it, the cgi is terrible (maybe thats on purpose but it doesn’t change the fact) and sandys family has got to be the ugliest spongebob characters ive ever seen, damn near threw up when i saw the preview for this 😂, also cant forget how terrible some of the acting is in this movie, just an all out disaster, this has to be my least favorite thing out of this series, the fact that sandy becomes a flying squirrel out of nowhere is so ridiculous, i forgot abt that, i also think the only character design that looks half decent is spongebob, everyone else is just so off, it doesn’t blend together and it looks like they tried 1 attempt on the models and called it a day, people need to work harder, just because tvs quote on quote dying doesn’t mean that mfs needa give up, because this movie if you wanna call it that is a mess, also that robot horse is disgusting, one of the worst designs ive ever seen outta spongebob aswell, i might just be hate watching towards this movie but aye, atleast ian going outta my way to purchase something i hate 😂, btw i cant judge most of the writing even though its prolly bad, i just haven’t actually seen the movie yet i just know that everything ive seen so far in this movie upsets me 😂, i feel so bad for the woman who played the villain too 😂, I KNOW this is not what she signed up for 💀, also im sorry for the babbling on but i think the reason everything is so off is because the characters look so soulless, in the main show they definitely show more emotion even if they’ve been recently overdoing it, but i think thats why i hate this artstyle, because everything looks soulless and dead, just another mindless cashgrab
Sandy movie was ASS CHEEKS, and the Plankton movie was a TON of FUN.

In my opinion they should made it like she goes to the surface by herself and she sees her parents but she’s getting peer pressured into running the family business like her family is selfish making her work for them then after a couple weeks of her being forced to work SpongeBob and the gang realise she’s missing and find her and free her and they all live happily ever after the end I think that would be a great plot line
Is it me, or is this movie overhated? This makes it sound like many of you prefer SpongeBob You’re Fired, One Coarse Meal, and A Pal For Gary, and Pet Sitter Pat etc, to this movie.

If this is the level of comedy that American children like so much. It means that you have very low standards in America.
