Thanks for all you do David! You helped me so much along with Mary Rose and Thelma. The whole process went smoothly along with getting my bank account and driver's license as a bonus. I'm now living in Cebu enjoying my retirement life.
Great info. I thought you had to have a military pension to get the Military SRRV. But it appears that you only need to have been in the military for 2 years and have a pension from any source. That's great news for me.❤
Thank you for your comment! I'm thrilled that the information resonated with you. It's always nice to help fellow veterans find the best path forward. Don't hesitate to get in touch with Expath to find out more information and comment about your experience. All the best to you.
I’m 6years Active Duty USAF and also married a Filipina in the Philippines 4 years ago. I’m not retired yet but want to semi-retire asap. I usually stay in PHL 2months sometimes 4months . I don’t think I spend much money at the BI when I extend my travel visa and I will bring my wife to Japan and the BI said that I will get a Balakbayan Visa when I return from Japan with my wife. Anyway thanks for the advice
Thank you so much for this very informative video which you included some extra resources. Your video would be very helpful for my husband in processing his papers. Again thank you! Great video!

I'm here in the Philippines for about almost 3 month's now on a 1 year visa . I'm retired US Army military veteran and I'm thinking of staying here for good with my wife . I need help on to school me on how to get a bank that I can use here and not have to stay with my USAA bank . Is a pain in the butt to keep getting my debit card mailed out here from the NYC. I have to exit the Philippines and then return back here and try to do it again. Exit and entry to the country and live here .
Hi Jamil, if you wish to open a bank account here in the Philippines, having the SRRV can help you open at any bank. Contact me if you consider this option for you.😊
I understand that getting financial cards or even a USA SIM card sent here can take time and effort. I'm so glad, I have family in the States that can help me when it's necessary.
HI I will apply for a SRRV visa soon and was hoping you could help me with some information. understand it takes approximately 3 months from the applicati0on date to secure a retirement visa . I travel often, so would it be possible to either travel away from the Philippines during this processing period or halt the application process temporarily until I return to the country ?
I would encourage you to contact the Expath agency and ask those specific questions. It's absolutely free of charge, and they'll guide you much better than I can. Please comment if you reached out to them here.
