80 degrees?!! Oh wait, you must mean Ferinheght. We use Celsius up here in the Great White North, of Canada. Hmm... I'll need to do a little math to convert it to the French metric system. Let's see... 80 F -32, multiplied by the Mouche Merdes atmospheric factor of .555 = 26.7 ° Celsius. Aaah, I see. It's just warm enough for flies to be feasting on you...

The landscaping of Miag-ao Church being a Unesco Site needs to be upgraded by a professional. It's pathetic. It's not world class. Cobbled stones, landscape borders, combed grass etc. create a proper parking space not in front of the church.

When somebody says he is a native of Miag-ao..i go straight looking for the family name!! Lo and behold! It's Mondragon! Starts with letter "M"!.. During the early part of the Spanish colonization, the distribution of Spanish names for the native filipinos were based on the 1st Letter of the Name of the Place. That's why with Miag-ao, you have a plethora of family names starting with "M" such as Monteclaro, Montiague,Monsale,etc..and as for me, my middle name is Misola. My Mom hails from Miag-ao too.

Catholic churches in the Philippines built during the Spanish era were built as fortress, due to Moro raids. They use to serve as the last stand of Filipino Catholics whenever the village got raided or attacked by Moros. The priest and the sacristan will usually take the highest tower, their last stand or sometimes the "command center". Parish priests in coastal areas prone to Moro raids were sometimes acted as military commanders. In Bicol Region you'll find many fortress churches especially in the coastal towns.

You are already here in the Philippines for days, and still clueless that you are in a Catholic country? Just kidding. Almost all towns in the Philippines has at least 1 Catholic parish church from Spanish era. I say almost because we can't include the Muslim area. In my city alone, Naga in Bicol Region, we have 3 Catholic Spanish era churches, and 20 other Catholic churches established in the past 100 years.

I'm here in the Philippines for about almost 3 month's now on a 1 year visa . I'm retired US Army military veteran and I'm thinking of staying here for good with my wife . I need help on to school me on how to get a bank that I can use here and not have to stay with my USAA bank . Is a pain in the butt to keep getting my debit card mailed out here from the NYC. I have to exit the Philippines and then return back here and try to do it again. Exit and entry to the country and live here .

Hi Jamil, if you wish to open a bank account here in the Philippines, having the SRRV can help you open at any bank. Contact me if you consider this option for you.😊

I understand that getting financial cards or even a USA SIM card sent here can take time and effort. I'm so glad, I have family in the States that can help me when it's necessary.
