at the end of the previous video you said ''bye, see you tomorrow'' in japanese. So I've been worried that something might happened in your life, since we didn't see you the day after. Hope you're all good! Love your Japan vlogs🍣🍜😻
This was probably the most insightful video of Japan I've seen yet. Everybody does the whole touristy thing of Akihabra, Super Potato, Hard-Off/Book-off, etc., but I've never seen a video this deep into things that are NOT the typical touristy things. Very cool video. Also, superb editing on these two Japan vlog videos. Amazing job and thanks for sharing your experience with us!
I don’t know if it’s on purpose but it’s so nice you’re using the Abroad in Japan/Journey Across Japan theme song in these vlogs, it’s like two world I like colliding! Also can’t wait to see the next video because I need tips about where to get second hand games in Osaka, going there in a week.
Thanks for lugging all the gear and cameras around Wood! Glad I get to live vicariously through you. The MOMENT I realized I wanted to ultimately go to Japan was, as a child, playing Street Fighter 2, fighting E Honda. I've been obsessed with Japanese Culture ever since, and can't WAIT to be able to go one day.
9:50 This is the biggest highlight of the video. To be able to go Rain on the roof must have been one of the greatest moments of your trip. I reeeeeally envy you man.
I’m so glad that you’ve been enjoying learning Japanese, but as another foreigner trying to learn it too, definitely recommend finding a class or something rather than relying on Duolingo alone as some of the pronunciation and context isn’t quite accurate (yet). It’s all an experience and you’ve clearly been learning lots if you had good top of mind memory of the phrasing when out and about in Japan, so big well done on that!
So glad you enjoyed your time and spent it with friends is also even more special. Although you mentioned the return flight wasn't the best, you seemed much more relaxed throughout this trip. Sending digital hugs to the BeatEmUps Team! 😊
@@Joe-p9lI have severe anxiety and I went to Hawaii- 9.5 hour flight. I even had some panic attacks leading up to and even one mid flight. Sometimes you need to just push through to do things. He also is probably being treated- meds didn’t work for me, unfortunately.
It was a lovely trip, very enjoyable. Thank you for coming to Japan. We, too, will continue to study and do our best to serve and live in a way that will please everyone overseas. Thank you.😮❤
This has made me realise one thing, now I know where to go for vacation when I’m done with high school. And maybe even move to for a short while, this is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, countryside and everything omg❤
great video! and i’m glad you mentioned that it’s crazy exhausting because it totally is. how you managed to film so much is actually insane! i’d be dead tired. thanks for the content
HIGHLY recommend the countryside of Japan. It's a completely different vibe than the cities and it ended up being my favourite in Japan. If you want to see the true countryside you will need to rent a car though but it's completely worth it.
Dude just seems like a good guy. Lol. Most youtubers seem scripted which I'm sure some of his vids are, but this one seems authentic. Rare on this platform
My favorite part was the sweet deal on VITURE glasses you found in Akihabara. Truly a unicorn experience to find 120in of enjoyment at such a low price.
You talk about how busy the pokemon store was... but that was empty compared to the time I was there... I couldn't even go into the Nintendo store because the wait was 45 minutes.
One pIece has always been huge specialy in japan, theres a reason its the biggest piece of comic/manga made by one person and its 2nd to superman in whole history in only a quarter of supermans lifespan 🐐
Hey Wood. No clue if you'll see this but it would be amazing if you or Bob can share your itinerary for the trip. I will Plan a trip next year and would lobe a base to start from.
How I wish I could meet you, Kim, and Bob in Japan (coming from the PH, it will be more likely to happen in Japan than in the US. 😅). But we will go there early next year and most likely you guys won't be back in less than 6 months. Haha Anyway, this and Bob's video was really helpful. I also plan to buy some anime and NSW stuff. Take care guys.
Wood I discovered your channel around 2014 and have been a follower since then. I'm so happy for you that you are achieveing your goals :) I remember you mentioning something like "someday, I will go to Japan to buy a lot of 3DS games". And here you are, on your second trip buying Switch games. Keep on keeping on, dude! Much love from Spain
Japan is not the only place where wagyu cows are bred. There is also American wagyu. Although they use different feeding techniques for the cows; they are both very delicious.
I know it's exhausting filming and might even take some of the fun out of the trip, but I really appreciate that you did! I want to go so bad, but it will be quite a while before I get to. Thank you, Wood! Thank you, Kim! And yeah, okay, thanks, Bob. I guess.
I absolutely love your vlog style episodes Wood. There’s something so incredibly genuine about how you narrate them. They really seem to give a unique insight into you as a person as much as it does about the amazing places you travel to. I’ve loved following the Japan journey here and on the podcast. Thanks so much for sharing what looks to have been an incredible trip.
From personal experience traveling to Japan, if you can afford it next time go for an entire month where you gradually travel down the island visiting all the different towns filled with culture and things to do. Nara is a great day trip to see the deer as well as going to Hiroshima to see the atomic dome and going on this full day biking marathon which is absolutely gorgeous. I would also recommend seeing more of the temples and shrines which are absolutely gorgeous (not just the really famous ones) and the palaces as well as going to an onsen.
You guys should make a BUSINESS trip to Japan. Where the objective is to make as many videos as possible about Japan and games because these videos are great
I went in April with a group of friends and visited many of the same places. These videos and the Nontendo podcasts have been such a fun revisit to many of the things I saw and did and some that I missed. It's also wonderful to be able to share with loved ones who didn't come with. I'm glad you had a great time
These videos are so good. Giving me all the feels. I can’t wait for the day I actually make it there. Living vicariously through these in the mean time
Wood, awesome video. Love the vlogs. I just got back from my honeymoon in Japan and I think I just missed you! (1-5 Oct in Tokyo, 8-11 Oct in Kyoto/Osaka) Missing it already so I'm grateful to relive it again through these videos. But I realised you didn't buy any Switch games in this vlog despite the title lol 😅
im in love with these vlogs man. ive been to japan already and im going again soon but dang. your vlogs are just.. pure bliss. i love to see how you view japan and what you do. youre just good vibes. glad you had fun
(10:12) That area being the inspiration for an area in the Persona series (or one of the games) reminded me of Bluey as the title character's hometown in that TV series turned out to have been modelled after parts of Brisbane, in Australia, where Ludo Studio (who produce the series) is based, and some fans had put out videos and articles comparing the fictional locations to the real locations. I imagined that a similar thing happened with the game series' development studio in which some of the development/design team members took inspiration from locations they were familiar with.

I literally stayed at the Tokyo Hilton last month and had no clue the buffet was from Persona 5 !!! that's pretty awesome !! and I see you also took a bunch of smoothie shots like I did , so goooood 🤤
I lived in Japan for five years and I was in a little place called Sasebo. I would recommend checking it out if you want to experience the slower parts of japan. Fukuoka, Nagasaki, and Osaka are still pretty close if you want to see those as well.

I can't lie...I'm just watching this until my Spider-Man 2 game loads up. Switch games are the LAST THING on my mind
Thanks for this. You're a really important person to many of us and you're doing the things we dream of and sharing. Keep doing that 💛💙🧡
Thats cool!
at the end of the previous video you said ''bye, see you tomorrow'' in japanese. So I've been worried that something might happened in your life, since we didn't see you the day after.

Love your Japan vlogs🍣🍜😻
How much did your trips cost for one cuz I want to go someday but idk if I can afford it
i like how hes using the journey across japan music in his japan vlog. im curious if he watches abroad in japan
These videos are genuinely my favourite on YT. I love seeing how awesome Japan is. One day I'll go 😊
Yes! I want to go so badly! Some day. Some day
I would’ve asked to go for my birthday, but I didn’t bother because I have graduation pretty close to it
Yeah some day me and my dad will go
It's my life goal to visit
I wanna go, but remember, Japan does have the capability to not be awesome sometimes too
The Japan vlogs are some of my most favorite videos

I got the isabelle statue when i went to that store. That entire floor had so much shopping.

I truly don’t think he has any anxiety problems. Lol I have anxiety. I can’t even go to the shop, let alone Japan.

that journey across Japan soundtrack is great
Video games aside. Glad you all had fun on your visit! Its not all about the games.

Why did this video get me teary-eyed. I wasn't on the trip and have never in Japan.

I am Japanese. please come to Japan again. Japan has beautiful nature and hospitality. I'm impressed by how cheap it is.
Awesomeness!! Just got home and about to fire up my Mario Wonder right now!! Hope I can go to Japan one day. It's been a lifelong dream of mine.
Thanks for sharing! It has been a pleasure to watch these videos with my kids and hear them scream in excitement about Mario or Pikachu!
Your previous vlog going to Japan was one of my favorite video series . Now I’m pumped when I see new ones go live . Love this , Thankyou for sharing
Speaking of Switch games, my copy of Super Mario Bros. Wobder came in from UPS today
Wow! Wood I can't believe you remember my recommendation to go to Rain on the Roof! I told you about it on your last stream before you left!
14:51 I tried to tell you the last Japan trip to hook up with AkiDearest. She’s recently done country side type vids too.
i remember the old japan vlogs like they were yesterday, crazy that was in 2019!

"Drove me to the passion of being a gamer" while showing THAT drawing 😂😂😂
@8:33 “no whammies” 😂 i havent heard anyone reference The Whammy is years! It was my favorite game show🥰🤙🏽
These videos are awesome. Some of the best content you’ve ever made (from a long time fan). Can’t wait for the next one.

We loved the mario party game as well. We found one in the mall with the big gundam statue.
