    I can just imagine the great smell. I prefer savory breads. But this one would be good for snacking at night with hot tea or coffee. The jam looks amazing.

    Homemade bread and jam is one of my all-time favorite treats since I was a little girl! This loaf looks too easy and delicious... Do you think apple sauce could work as a substitute for the oil? I may try it both ways. Thanks, Jana!

      It really is my all time fave since I was little too... My fav is guava jam... yummy... About the apple sauce, I'm not sure about that but I suppose you can do that, many people mentioned on the comments that they do that so I think you're good then... :)

    Can you do any bread recipes with legumes (chickpea,lentil and especially soy) flour ?
    Or legume flour whatever (pizza dough,biscuits,pancakes,bread etc)?

    My dear Jana, one question. Would you say that this bread is on the sweet, or on the savory side? I don't like sweet. I understand that there has to be some sugar, to help lift the yeast, but in addition to the molasses I fear it will be too sweet for me. Would it be ok to eat with some salty cheese, or a soup for example? Lots of kisses from Greece!!!

      Yes, correct, if you don't like sweet then definitely skip the sugar part and and you can even tune down the molasses. :)

      Yes, I think you can, I have never tried since buckwheat s as common as unicorn tears here where I live but I think it work great too! :)

      Thank you, Marie! Oh, Im not sure about it, most bread machines come with their own measuring cups and recipes, no? The reason I say this is because I have tried making different recipes on my now retired bread machine and it was a disaster... 😅

Also cheese, mayonnaise etc. I add different flavours to recipes according to our tastes. I am going to try meatless meatballs with banana flower (some called banana heart or blossom) its lovely texture and tasty when make different dishes. So I have a feeling it will work with meatless balls and will let you know.
      9 weeks ago we became a vegan family thanks to my 19 year old son who decided to change the diet 😍and we are enjoying the food so much😊👌!

      She used a quarter cup oil. The recipe below is wrong. I wondered when I read it, because a quarter tablespoon is a weird quantity....😊😉

      I used a tablespoon and no more. Turned our fine. Used pyrex bread pans and with the temp and time turned out quite hard where the dough met the bakeware walls. Otherwise very moist and delicious with the chopped walnuts I added to the dough. Also added about a qtr cup of vital gluton to the spelt/whole wheat flour. What would be better, lowering the temp or time of bake? I plan on making this often, so your reply will be very helpful. Thanks, Jana. --StevenB

    Ugh I’m allergic to wheat bread don’t like the taste and texture of it either lol is there a non-wheat bread versión?

      I believe it's possible to make a gluten-free version of this bread.
      I personally recommend using gluten-free all-purpose flour, and in place of wheat flour you can use buckwheat flour, brown rice flour or quinoa flour, or a blend of all threee with maize flour. Or if you want to have that kind of colour seen in the video, use teff flour (brown teff flour preferably). To provide the elasticity and springy texture, use 1-2 tablespoons of psyllium husk with 50-100 grams of polenta (make sure it's certified gluten-free though).
      Then you add the salt, yeast (gluten-free and vegan yeast), and other dry ingredients, and mix before adding the molasses and lukewarm water.
