“Times that don’t seem like much will be your only crunch when you’re alone”. One of the greatest lines ever written followed up by another. “Pretty soon you’ll remember when you could remember when you loved some one”. Greatest songwriter ever!!!!!
*“Think I blocked just a park away”* trumps the last two lines of the song IMO. Like holy shit what a line. Possibly my favorite line of Jason’s and that’s saying A LOT.
He said in an interview once that he really did park his car far enough from the bar he was going to that he knew when he got drunk he couldn't find it. Once he walked all around and couldn't find it so he called the police and reported it stolen. They found it fairly quickly and saw that it was carefully parked and locked up. He said they were not really happy with him when he went to pick it up. I don't remember exactly how he described it but that was the gist of it.
"Time moves slow at seventeen, and then it picks up steam at twenty-one. Pretty soon you'll remember when you could remember when you loved someone." I turn twenty-one in a week and this lyric just scared the living shit out of me.
I've moved to new area. Lonely and stressed and just turned 21 about the time you posted your comment. Tough song to listen to in this state of mind lol
A good mate sent me this. In bed so chose this outa abt 5 to listen to....several times! Omg what an amazin personification of your drug of choice! I relate to loads, most actually! Beautiful, priceless n so damn real! This addict loves it!!
his voice sounds better here, but in the only other video i have seen of this song, he lets out a moan that is deep down in MY SOUL. every time i hear that version i imagine the man just aching in pain as we all have for some lost love. some lost part of ourselves. i dont think i have heard him do this one live in all the times i have been to see him either. it is just a mournful call from deep inside, i can feel.
Actually we are wrong. Thats what it is suppose to be. In my pocket directions back across the railroad tracks to where I crash. Maybe I should wave down a car, I won't be going far, and I have cash. Think I blocked just a park away, but I can't really say, it's been all night. How I wish you would call me here, but you just disappeared, it wasn't right.
im sry i listen to all genres of music and while i might dislike an artist most the time ill still like a couple of songs but there are 2 things i stay away from one is radio country and mainstream pop
Man he’s got a way of just painting a picture with his lyrics. He’ll go down as the greatest song writer of his time
The line about life when you're 17 picking up through 21 and will I ever love again really got me
Could be. His entire catalog is underrated. He should be a household name as far as I'm concerned.
Nathan Temple LOL. He is in my house. I never shut up about him.
4wurd Productions Interesting opinion.
I wouldn't say that being a household name makes you a sellout. Steve Earle, The Boss, Tom Petty.
I can't tell how famous he is. I am very aware of all he does but I don't know how far he penetrates into the mainstream.
he is in my house , Australia
Those last two stanzas are daggers straight into my soul. Chill-bumps EVERY time I hear them.

Crunch=crutch I think

That line was sung accidentally at a songwriters' round because he was nervous, but someone said how much she liked it, so he kept it like that.

Jackson Moore Could be. His entire catalog is underrated. He should be a household name as far as I'm concerned.
He is becoming more and more heard. I'd have liked to known about him back in 09 when this video was out.

Lady Gaga is not good music. Jason Isbell is an artist. Gaga is not.
