Samart (Bruce Lee of Muay Thai)
Buakaw and Saenchai (they're in their early forties) and are considered the two fighters who transcended Muay Thai from Asia to the World.
New generation: Rotang, Thaenchai and Superbon.

I am an absolute believer in the golden rule and that is to hit and not get hit. This young man is made of something that I have never seen.

I thought the exact same. I was always trained to NOT get hit where this fighter even does it to himself!

If you love Rodtang you should check out his fight against Superlek, another monster from Thailand, it was the best MT showdown we've seen in a good while. Superlek is also a great guy and a legend in the making, trained by the legend himself Saenchai. You should check out his journey too.

Yo. FUNK Muay Thai son - I respect the hell out of these guys, those low kicks and elbows and even the training is something beyond my capability. I loved to train but not like those warriors! Too hard.

      @WashedOlympian  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

When training Taekwondo. A simple shin on shin collision would send us off to the side to take a few moments and recover before coming back in. These guys seem to not be affected by it at all!

Rodtang Vs. Tawanchai almost impossible because too much different weight (135lbs Vs. 155lbs) Tawanchai at 145lbs on his debuts in One FC and today he can't go to that weight anymore because he grows up. Rodtang is still no weight problem that mean if he moves up, he would not be 100% maybe his movement just slower.

@@WashedOlympian Check out Rodtang Vs. Superlek It's very great fight (Muaythai Champ Vs. Kickboxing Champ) unfortunately. Superlek misses weight, but Rodtang take the fight for his fan even it makes him got disadvantage.

that fight agains Tenshin (who is quite the monster in his own right) is one example of what we talked about briefly in your Tawanchai video: In Thai scoring, Rodtang probably would have won that fight as he kept stepping up the action towards the end of the fight and demonstrated being pretty uneffected by his opponents attacks.
In general, it is pretty comon for Thai fighters to have insanely high fight-numbers under their belt. partially it's them starting so early, partially it's the frequency with which they fight. Muay Thai is a very popular and comon sport in Thailand similar to how soccer is in my own home here in Germany. Rodtang is a special individual though , you are absolutely right about that. That man is a living tank for real!
I would love to show you some of the more oldschool Muay Thai fighters from older generations who are legends of the sport to this day. Most of that video footage is much lower quality though of course as it's from quite some time ago. Would also be a way to explore different styles of Muay Thai fighters.

@@WashedOlympian true, are you especially interested in any specific style or "weapon" of Muay Thai? I might have more modern fighters to show in some cases, too of course even though I might not be 100% up on current affairs.

@@NewAeonWarlord Right now I'm just starting the journey with Muay Thai and the fighters in the sport. I don't know much about the sport to begin with even, so I wouldn't know what I want to see.

@@WashedOlympian well, in that case, maybe try checking out Saenchai. He is another (though older) figher who is still active and he is very much a Muay Femeu fighter, meaning someone with a very artful, technical style. He is also a trickster who likes to get into his opponents' heads and deconstruct their styles.

I must be the only one who doesn't think he's fun to watch. Those hits he takes are gonna catch up with the dude, and when he finally starts losing for real, and he takes a few more of those hits, it's going to be worse than it is now. People aren't designed and aren't supposed to fight like that, and it's not cool or funny.

I can't watch major punishment in any combat sport. I don't even rewatch Ward v Gatti (one of my faves of the last 20 or s0 years). But I certainly wouldn't begrudge a great back and forth battle in any art, in real time. I Hope that you're day is great!

I definitely understand where you're coming from, and I kinda thought the same. I mean, it's just amazing to see something like what he's doing since it's new to me, but I'm broken due to my sport, and I didn't do anything close to him. Very scary!
That's why I'm very curious about how they feel after or the recovery process.
