    It annoys the hell out of me that I had to sit through dozens of ridiculously poor tutorials in order to come across this gem!
    The best teleprompter tutorial by far! Thanks for the insights mate, you just got yourself a new subscriber! - Will be making this tonight :)

    But what about the text on the glass..
    The words are in the opposite direction?

    • @deancrabb
      @deancrabb 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's how it appears in the recording due to the camera reversing the perspective. There are settings in the apps to reverse the text based on what app you use etc. Totally manageable.

Officially a subscriber for life!!! This is amazing! I make courses online and using power point bullets suck for me because i have terrible vision which makes recording and editing much longer. This is going to save me so much time and money! I will be sure to make a tutorial on my other social platforms showing how this is done and shouting out your TH-cam channel and company for this one! Wishing you nothing but success my friend Thank you!

    Using a teleprompter has a huge benefit, I experienced the advantage of using a Teleprompter and PPT Mirror software: I speak more freely and, of course, ‘‘get my messages across’’ in self -produced videos.I display my PowerPoint in reverse or flip it and put my tablet in the teleprompter and get started, simple, and easy to use. Which leads my videos to more naturalness. Hope this helps

    Hi Dean,
    I think displaying Powerpoint slides with bullet points in a teleprompter helps you to look more naturally and speak freely in front of camera than script, because you always have the whole concept in mind and you don't have to read word for word.

    • @deancrabb
      @deancrabb 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a black box then only minor I would guess. Flat black would reflect less light but when I did it, it really was easy to see. Try it out first, and if you want it better than take the time to spray it then.

      Hi,
      what do you think about using powerpoint in a Teleprompter?
      ppt-mirror.com app makes it possible to mirror-flip and convert Powerpoint presentations or pdf files. So that can be viewed on iPad, Tablets, or smartphone and use the device in a cheap passive prompter.. the app doesn't force me to read word for word or even to memorize the text because am using my existing presentation slides. all the best to you

    I have one question about it. Can a teleprompter of this type work if the camera you are using is another iPad mounted on an iPad video mount?

    • @C2Solutions
      @C2Solutions  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BanjoInKorea thanks for your comments.
      I have never seen an iPad on iPad mount but I would say it should work. You might just have to cut a smaller hole in the back of the box just to reduce the amount of a light leakage and put the camera up against that whole. If you send me a photo of the iPad and mount I'll give you my thoughts

    I'm not sure if I missed it, but how will the camera not pick up the words? And why did you put a light right in front of the camera? Thank you, and will be looking foward to uour responcse.

    • @C2Solutions
      @C2Solutions  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hanine, thanks for your email. The camera doesn't pick up on the words because of the angle of the glass, and because the camera is focusing on you in a distance and not the words. You can read the words, but the words don't come up in the shot. The light right in front of the camera was just accidental. The light was in that position when I was doing filming of me assembling the box, so there was good lighting. But then I turned around to place the lightbox on the camera stand and the lighting was mostly pointing into the camera, which affected your ability to see the words from the 2nd camera angle. For normal studio lighting you want to setup something like this. i.pinimg.com/736x/33/0b/a2/330ba290a3c20f03bb35199553e67bb4--photography-studio-setup-film-photography.jpg

    really great - only problem is that I have a flip up screen on my camera so the teleprompter would block this off and i would not be able to see myself - any tips?

    • @C2Solutions
      @C2Solutions  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Marc, I had the same problem with my hand just had to opt to have the about window hidden behind the box. Ultimately all teleprompters suffer from this problem because the camera is behind the teleprompter and you can't have the window inside the box because the light would make it hard to read the teleprompter itself. You could try an alternative of putting a mirror behind the camera and if angled correctly it could bounce the image from your flip out window forwards. Hope that helps.

    • @drutgat2
      @drutgat2 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Couldn't you cut a horizontal 'channel', in the box, just a little bigger than the flip screen, to one side of the camera lens? That should work, shouldn't it?

    • @C2Solutions
      @C2Solutions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because then if you read the ipad next to the camera you aren't looking directly at the camera, which looks weird. That's why teleprompters were invented. It means you can read and look directly at the camera at the same time, which is how news presenters all over the world can talk about the news while looking directly at the camera the whole time.

    I've watched several DIY prompter thingies before, and yours is the easiest (and cheapest) to construct for what it does.
    Well done, mate. Cheers, Chuck : +)

    ok, so I built it but it plays backwards. I can't read the teleprompter as the iPads reflection is backwards. You have the same problem at 10.25 in your video. You can see your reflection of your iPad is also playing backwards. It must be a basic thing Im doing wrong. Any ideas?

    • @C2Solutions
      @C2Solutions  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, turn the ipad around. Its upside down. In the video you see me tilt it and it spins around, I just tiled it the wrong way. It has to be up the other way. Also make sure you get a teleprompter app as it makes it easier to read

    How do you tackle the problem of ghosting or the letters having a double image?

    • @C2Solutions
      @C2Solutions  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on the glass. The frame I had was cheap but the ghosting of the letters was very minor, actually mine was quite clear so it didn't bother me. You can actually buy proper glass for this called "optical beamsplitter glass". Not sure how cheap it is but this would naturally raise the costs. I found what I had worked really great because the design made it very dark behind the glass. So your needs and use may be different, so up to you if you want to take it further and get the better glass.

    • @fernyesp
      @fernyesp 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a lot for the reply. It seems like the larger the letters, the less of an effect the ghosting has. Since I'm using an iPhone 6 large display to have the best effect in reading letters, the ghosting is more apparent. I've heard of trying to get a sample piece of glass from local glass company's that is one way, reflective or adding a one way reflective light film on the glass and it seems to fix the problem. Thanks again for the info ;-)

      Fernando Marron you're welcome. Yes the text is small on an iPhone so it would make the text harder to read from any reasonable distance so yes maybe finding some alternative glass would make this better

    • @C2Solutions
      @C2Solutions  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, ghosting is more apparent the smaller the screen. It makes the text hard to read because the letters are smaller. Yes I've heard there can be films you can add to glass to make it clear. Keep in mind the larger the text the better otherwise it'll become obvious you are squinting to read something from a teleprompter when making your video, which takes away from the naturalness of the recording. The easier to read the more relaxed and normal the video comes across. Hope that helps.

    ill send you some photos. but at 10.07 yours is still backwards after flipping it

    • @C2Solutions
      @C2Solutions  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you using a teleprompter app? In the teleprompter apps there are settings to flip/mirror the text vertically/horizontally so it comes out correct. I've recorded several videos using this teleprompter so its definitely works. You must be doing something wrong.
