    Wow, it’s been a week - I’m only just uploading on a Saturday! I made this teleprompter before I started the channel, and thought you might enjoy it. Let me know below: If you are TH-cam creator, do you script your videos, wing it, or somewhere in between?

    This is the best design I have seen so far from my research on DIY. One thing I would add is wood gluing a board on the bottom and adding in a base plate so you can mount the teleprompter on a light or camera stand.

    I also experienced that using your existing Powerpoint slides with bullet points in a teleprompter is a good option than following word-for-word script, you speak confidently and maintain eye contact because you always have the whole concept in mind.
    Thank you Simon for the great review,

      It does! For complex bits of text to camera at least. Just takes a bit of practice to look into the lens and stay natural. :)

    Amazing!!!! & you don't use it! You're a pro Simon. I always love your videos for your authenticity, personality, clarity, & the feeling you're talking right to me. I don't know how you do it. 🤔 Definitely one of the best speakers/presenters/creators/editors I've watched on here. So happy to have stumbled on you. 'See' you Friday! 🤗

    Better design than a similar approach I have seen long ago. May just do it. Thank you!

    That's why you look so natural and confident in front of camera, Simon, Would slides with bullet points make a great impression if I present them as my teleprompter software?.

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha thanks: yeah I use it for the trickier explanations of ideas when I want to be concise works well. Not a bad idea using it for Bullet points if you just had it static as a guide. Cheers

    Have you figured out a remote pause for when you want to go off script?

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Parrot make quite a cheap remote control that syncs with tablets - I don’t use mine enough to worry about it for now thou.

      @@BetterCreating it's not. I'm an improvised and go with one take only. But yesterday I had to present other people talks, so I had a narrative, and me not looking in the camera was a bummer…

    Hello Simon. Trust you are doing well. Thank you for the lovely video. I am thinking of doing it myself too. Been wanting a teleprompter for so long, but they are super expensive in our country.
    Can you please just let me know what size was the photo frames?
    Much appreciated

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it’s good! Mine is 10x9’ ish. I’ve also recently downloaded Promptsmart which is excellent - costs a bit but have voice recognition so will move as you speak and allows for ad libs. Best iPad app I’ve used in ages! :)

    Interesting. Question: Is there a way to install the homemade teleprompter over my imac camera?

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Kind of maybe: you would likely be better to set up an external webcam that mounts on a tripod head, and use a phone sized teleprompter in front of it. I’ve used it with the Opal C1 before.

    Absolutely great tutorial, Thank you.
    Question: I found a way of converting my own slides and use them as my teleprompter software (which is done with PPT Mirror tool) would it be a better option to help me sound natural and maintain eye contact than using word-for-word script?.
    if you ever experienced using Powerpoint as your teleprompter software.

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting idea: I think slides or script work: just depends on the person. I just use mine for more intricate sections of video I want to get precise so use a script. Otherwise I just film sections and rif on my notes. Your PowerPoint approach sounds cool. Good luck! :)

    When I'm singing and playing guitar some of my songs I jump around and speed up and slow down what is there for that type of teleprompter? Is there some kind of mechanical turn the page type of device for musicians that is cheap?

    How do you resolve the blur caused by the glass front and back surface?

    • @BetterCreating

      I don’t see a noticeable issue - it’s so close to the screen quality seems fine :)

    is this glass found in the frames good for teleprompting? I mean if you are recording does it look ok? (I asking if you can see the text on the recording going through?) Thanks in advance!

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check out my latest uploads - all used the teleprompter! I can’t see any difference - as long as there isn’t light behind the lens reflecting on the glass, and it’s close to the lens it just acts like a clear filter. All good!
