- Started off at Woodthorpe in fine conditions but ended the day with a very dramatic storm with thunder, lightning, a ferocious wind and hailstones. Nevertheless a great show put on by the GCR team.
Fantastic video. The last shot was one of the best I've seen. Thank you.
That last clip is the most exciting I've seen in a long time John, and you must be congratulated for enduring such conditions to capture such stunning images. It looked a great Gala, with the usual wide veriety of locos....10/10....Regards...Bob
Excellent coverage of the Gala. Good locations, well filmed. Very enjoyable. Cheers, Dave.
excellent video, I was there on the day, the weather provided a spectacular atmosphere as the Ivatt pulled away from Rothley.
Great mix of shots, well covering the variety of services. 12.40 clagging DMU - nice. 13.10 great Ollie departure. Things did go down hill at the end, what weather!
Very enjoyable John & thanks for 'standing at your post' on the final clip, it finished your sequence in fine style at what looked like another excellent GCR Winter Gala. Regards, Brian.
Very nice video John, plenty on display, and locations superb, and editing also,
Well John you could certainly describe those condition as 'changable'! You had the lot from spells of sunshine to the hail. Fine set of shots from the gala showing a good mix of the action
Superb shots at excellent locations John , a wonderful Gala with the last shot being the one for me with awful weather conditions to say the least . Steve
John, a fine set of shots from the gala. You covered the event very well and captured some superb shots. It was nice chatting with you on Saturday, I went down this afternoon as well - I even got some sunshine would you believe. Thanks for sharing - Regards, Sam
Hi John,They put on a fine gala there.Very Good filming ,..Dave
Hi John. very good been there a few years ago..Thanks for reply..Dave
Love the Jinty scampering along Light Engine!
Fine coverage John, a mixed day weather wise, but interesting results. The 8F capture was great and kind of ironic as that's the train we ran to get to avoid the coming Storm ! Glad you stuck it out and i hope your equipment was o.k. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Liam
Well, full marks for staying put for the final shot, it made a very impressive result. You can see the signal on the left swaying !
Lovely view looking down the light into the sun at 4;55. I like the Jinty scampering past at 8:00 as well.
Great Video, although the Rain did come, the lightning did provide some very different backdrops for videos and photos!
Well John, that's a great mix of action and locations from another good looking GCR gala. Very well done for holding on those conditions
Mike
ps sorry if I've not commented on recent viewings -- youtube and operating platform issues
Great shots, that last one in the storm was exceptional, well done.
Cracking Shots John . You are a better man than me for sticking it out in that lot at the end. I got drenched getting in the car. Sorry we was unable to have a chat that day. The last one is a wizard shot for clips at the end of the year. All the best Barry
