Hello dear Korg team, The editor is very nice and very practical to tweak the sounds and create favorite banks, but would it possible to have an iPad version? I mean, we are in 2021, and a lot of people are now using heavily tablets for music making. Sometimes, I’d like to make changes on the SV2 sounds, and I wish I didn’t have to start my laptop, but just quickly plug the iPad. Also, for the stage it could be a good option, if you want to make changes or new layers on the fly. So it’s just a request to you. Please consider it and let us know if it’s possible. I’m also looking forward to new soundpacks for the SV2. In particular, I’d like to have another version of the MK I Suitcase (similar to the one in the Vox Continental or the Grandstage, or the Hard Tines version in the Korg Module app) as the factory included version is a bit too mellow. It gets brighter and clearer when played through the amp sim, but then it looses a bit of bark in the medium low register (quite useful for using i. stage though). The EQ used at the end of the video could also work to get a more bell sound, but it brings some background noise to the sound. So not fully satisfying. Anyway, just some wishes. Overall I’m very happy to have changed from my beloved SV1 to the SV2.
This vid is perfect. I’ve was a Yamaha player thru S90, (played Korg’s CX3 organ) switched to Roland with the RDs then FA08 and finally got the SV2….I loved the keybed. But I have to say, this Is the keyboard I always wanted. Much more Intuitive than any board I ever used, and that makes it great as a live keyboard. Also I wanted a smaller footprint. Only a couple of issues: rather have a flat top or handles! Of course, some kind of Apple tablet support…. It’s the best live board ever.
It is a really nice application.Lovely explanation. The lack of an iPad app is a noticeable flaw. An iPad fits on the SV2 desk. A laptop does not because of the shape.
In the meantime, please keep in mind that the Treble Boost is already a (versatile and high-quality) distortion pedal, that can saturate a lot and become a bit 'fuzzy' if you want. But all the amplifiers include an overdrive control, that can give the same results of a dedicated distortion pedal.
I found a serious programming defect of the machine on the key off of the notes ... I wanted to inform korg, who can i talk to and explain the problem? Practically on an "all blues" type groove, the keyboard muffles the sound by stealth, which is not the case in midi with studiologic, which makes it unsonable especially for jazz use ... I hope to have an answer and to be able to bring my experience and knowledge so that this problem can be resolved with an update.
How do you switch off the annoying damper noise? The string resonance is OK but the release thump noice is bad. No information about this in the manual.
save sounds into the panel from the keyboard interface : go to the bank you want first... hold down the number 1 - 8 to save it into the slot you want... 8:32
Hello! I've got a sv2s88. Is it possible to create a loop with : SV2s' output connected to a looper's input, and the looper's output to the sv2 speakers' input and jam with it using multiple sounds? Thank you
This helpful video has brought the SV-2 back into consideration for me. Does anyone know if it's possible to exchange sound settings with other SV-2 users (kind of like Yamaha's Soundmondo app)? I would find a feature like that to be quite useful.
just received my beautiful SV2 white: question here: when using the sound editor, it seems that it's accessing the sounds/samples already built into the SV2. The editor is not giving you a fresh and updated sample library....it is acting like an interface to edit and arrange the sounds already in the SV2....correct?
Nice Editor, but doesn`t work on my win PC. Seems to be a driver problem from what I read?! I can start the software and it realised the sv2 but doesn`t show anything in the editor, any suggestions?
@@thespadestable I`ve found this: th-cam.com/video/rVy2aqQm3U8/w-d-xo.html but it doesn`t work for me, for some reason the korg doesn`t moved to an accepted port. Seems like I have to test this one: th-cam.com/video/18SLcnbqwaI/w-d-xo.html but I have respect for hacking the registry. A bit confusing that this videos come from 2019, I didn`t expect such bad/no support from Korg
Hi, can someone please give me step by step instructions on how to split sounds on the SV2? I would like to be able to play electric bass or acoustic bass with my left hand and piano or electric piano with my right hand. There are no instructions in the manual or on TH-cam as to how to do something that should be simple.
Complicated. I bought an sv2 but is not ok you need a laptop to use all the futures. An instrument that costs 2000€ must offer all the functions without anu other help. If i want to use a laptop i will buy a Studiologic only for keys. Sorry, i put it for sell
[update: successful WORKAROUND discovered (for Windows 10 anyway) check my last response] Did you guys have to pay extra to write a Windows app that can't go full screen? When the tiny-sized SV2 Editor app is open (occupying about 1/4 of a pc screen), I click on a button (that's too small to identify) at the absolute top-left corner, which then opens a box with "restore" "minimize" and "maximize". "Maximize" is always grayed-out and unavailable for selection, no matter what. It's barbaric. It reminds me of the ancient Alesis app that I used with my (now vintage) QS8, way back in 1995. It too, could not go fullscreen. Let's review my gripe. It's currently year 2022, and I think the Korg "SV2 Editor" pc app should have the capability of going full-screen. I think that's a reasonable and bare minimum ask. I don't need to see anything more when it goes full-screen. Just make the window resizable. If everything in the window (all text/graphics/images) simply balloons, like a simple "zoom" effect, -that's ideal. Let's use the whole screen. To make the app much more useful. Using a pc *while seated at your Korg keyboard* will predictably lead to screen proximity scenarios where having a larger easier-to-see user interface would be very helpful. Is this really the right app to limit to tiny 1/4 screen size? I'm currently researching a way to hack a static-sized window and make the window scale bigger. With enough hacking hours logged, my goal is to get the SV2 Editor looking like a modern app, so I can see it and use it.
So far... 1. "ResizeEnable" does resize previously unresizable windows. Such as when you select "properties" in Windows, you're usually presented with a smallish nonadjustable window. But with "ResizeEnable" you can resize that window. Unfortunately "ResizeEnable" won't engage with the "SV2 Editor" app window. ...more tests coming... 2. "AltMove" works, but not on the SV2 app. 3. "Sizer" works, but not on the SV2 app.
*successful WORKAROUND* (for Windows 10 anyway) Using the native "Magnifier" Windows app, after adjusting some Magnifier settings to prevent the screen from migrating to accommodate the wandering mouse, I've got the SV2 app working as I believe it _should._ At around 180% zoom, the SV2 app fills about the whole pc screen. I've got it set where the screen view stays fixed, no matter where I move my mouse. Problem is, my pc is essentially "unusable" for most other tasks as it's locked into this weird/cumbersome magnifier mode. It just too complicated getting in and out of the ideal Magnifier adjustments (once tweaked-in perfectly), to try popping out do do something else on your pc for a moment. But as long as you are busy using only the SV2 app, it works perfectly now. I can see everything WAY WAY better. And why not? It not about accommodating weak eyesight. It's about giving the user the freedom to use the program in whatever way is most useful to them, via something as simple as allowing the app to fill the screen. (in the process ballooning all graphical elements of the app to be bigger/easier to see/from further away). Nothing would be sacrificed if this were a native function of the app.

Why would any respecting person or business associate themselves with Apple? Please never speak that name again.

I really need to muck around with this. Had my SV2 for ages and haven’t even tried!
Can u save your own edited sounds onto the sv2 without using the software or a computer at all?
Please make an Ipad version. This would be so much better than having to use a laptop.
14:45 Are all of these sounds already in the keyboard? Or are you sending new sounds to the keyboard depending on what you choose?
Great video! Love my SV-2! Would love for y’all to add fuzz and distortion pedals in future updates!

Please release an IPAD Editor for the SV2 !

All those modification via editor could be done directly using the knobs hardware or I must use exclusively the editor and pc?

Hi korg I recently purchased a Krome ex and supposed to have some editing software and there is none, do you have any links at all would be grateful
Is it possible to have a keyboard split replicating the tonewheel manuals with overlapping register?
would it possible to have an iPad version ?
Does transmitting sounds or favourites to another SV-2 keyboard require the laptop to be plugged in to continue playing these sounds or sets?
No. They are saved in favorites. You can’t change settings without a laptop, with the exception of the controls on the SV2
I’m failing to detect it as an external instrument in Ableton
Do need to have the editor connector always when you want to play a saved sound? or can you load the sound onto the sv2 and use them stand alone?
You don't need the editor when playing, you can store 64 favorites sounds on the SV2.
How do I split the keyboard to play one sound with one hand and the other sound with another hand?
Nice Editor, but doesn`t work on my win PC. Seems to be a driver problem from what I read?! I can start the software and it realised the sv2 but doesn`t show anything in the editor, any suggestions?
@Dennis Vincent Horizborn -
I downloaded mine about a week about a week ago and nothing shows up on my screen. I thought it was just me?
