    Why oh why the RH3 action again?. Some things already missing. 1- Pitch and mod wheels. 2- Split and layers FROM THE KEYBOARD in real time, not from the editor only. 3- Replaceable sound library. 4- More favourites presets. 5- Smooth sounds transition. There's a tough competition at this point, and other than nostalgia, I don't know how the SV2 can outperform current products by Nord, Yamaha or Dexibell.

      This sounds bloody good but it does seem like they sacrificed ease of editing for looks

      This piano is not for you. It may well be for me. I've never had a better Rhodes than the SV1, and if you're looking for keyboard sounds, it's excellent. I found the acoustic pianos lacking in ensemble playing, but the on-board speakers are a big plus, and I'll try the new acoustic piano samples when it's available near me.

      I demoed a ton of keyboards in Guitar Center. And this was the only one that made me feel like an artist. Like I kept wanting to play more. Sometimes it's not just about the features but the feel. No other new electric pianos even compare.

      RH3 action seemed good to me when I tried it tbh. I want a Fender Rhodes but can’t afford a real one (nor can I afford a Nord). For me, the SV2 seems the thing I need. No interest in split voice or pitch bend, I wouldn’t get that on a Rhodes.

    I am watching next SV2 presentation with the "guy wearing Korg t-shirt". It is a shame that such great musician is not mentioned by name in any official Korg video. Just Luke? Come on...

    I really like the old school buttons. Almost like the ones on my old Korg Polysix. Great sounds but I won't be trading my old Kronos in any time soon.Still, it's great to see Korg knocking it out of the park with a killer stage keyboard.

    On a stage piano that built its reputation on EPs, clavs, pianos, and vintage samples, these demos sure seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on strings and brass- which I'm pretty sure no SV1 owner nor fan was hoping for. I'm praying this time around there are multiple Rhodes and Wurli libraries included instead of reworkings of the same samples like in the SV1 service packs. PLEASE! I wish Korg would implement the Nord philosophy and allow new samples to be loaded into this model. Possibly on the SV3

    Is this instrument targeted to the in-studio producer who wants a palate of orchestral sounds at the ready? Or to the performing musician who needs good, core keyboard sounds? Or is it trying to be both? Hard to discern from the demo.

    • @annother3350
      @annother3350 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The design says 'stage' to me

    • @vanessajazp6341
      @vanessajazp6341 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@annother3350 I would agree. However, to me the demo says “studio tool”.
      The guy is playing some magnificent pieces of music and presets that one would almost never use on stage. As a performing keyboardist, I’m looking for good vintage keyboard sounds like Rhodes/Wurli, Clav, organ and of course piano. This demo doesn’t do a good job of focusing on those sounds and what all the SV2 can do with them. Strings pads and bells are more the extra fluff I can use but don’t really need since I already have 2 synths for all of that.

    I see Luke demoing the 73-key a lot - I wonder what he actually prefers? My biggest struggle is choosing between 73 or 88. I came up on full-sized pianos, but 73 fits across the back seat of the car and is a decent compromise...

    • @weedanwine
      @weedanwine 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      88 or death 😂
      if you don't mind less keys then obviously the 73-key version will be more convenient.

    The Rhodes still sucks, or at least it doesn’t sound like the two I’ve owned in the past. I played a crumar seven last weekend and although it’s not perfect, it’s does have a lot of the characteristics I’m looking for. You can definitely dial in that vintage Herbie tone on it. Plus the connection with the sound on the Keybed is kind like playing a real Rhodes too. I just hate the stupid lights on it. But yeah Korg missed the mark again.

    • @homeirotheveryfatmanwhoisa8270
      @homeirotheveryfatmanwhoisa8270 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You think it’s a terrible product just because of one sound?

    • @tylerthompson1842
      @tylerthompson1842 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crimson Analog when your product is clearly trying to resemble a retro electric piano ie “Rhodes” you better have a dead ringer. My buddy bought the Sv1 10 years ago. Knowing that I’ve owned a few over the years he couldn’t wait for me to try it. As soon as a played a chord I said to myself “nope, that ain’t it.” I didn’t want to hurt his feeling so i said it wasn’t bad. The connection between the sound and the keys was nice though. But I instantly felt the sound was an exaggeration of the original. Too much bell and bark with very little of the velvet in between. I had a 72’ mk1 stage in the mid 90’s. It sounded amazing but the action was too sluggish no matter what it did to modify. I sold it and bought an 84’ mk5 great action this time and a different tone. but I got it really close to the mk1 by adjusting the pickup distance. But yeah, that sound is petty damn important.
