I'm not a pianist, not by any stretch of the imagination. Up until last month I was still using my old Korg X-50 until it unexpectedly died. The grandstage is more powerful than I need, but I ordered one anyway, the excellent acoustic and electric piano sounds, the design, and the fact that I can actually practice with a weighted keyboard now is something I can't wait to play with. Korg, you should thank Anderton's and give Luke a raise, because their demo videos sold me. (Playing in this video is still great, just giving Luke the praise he's due)
the "church organ" preset sounds better than a one ton real pipe organ !!! i wonder how the toccata e fuga would sound ... amazing instruments indeed. I must start saving. Thank you !
I’ve played both and I own the RD. Just my opinion, the RD 2000 has a better feel (keys), but the GS has better sounds out the box. With the RD, you’d have to spend some time adjusting the sounds of the pianos.
RD2000 is fairly dated, sound-wise. Better sound can be had for less money very easily from every brand, even Roland. It has been this way for some years now.
I can't decide between purchasing this board or the Yamaha CP4. Certain sounds on the CP are superior (acoustic and jazz guitar sounds which I use extensively). A plus for the CP, you can layer 2 sounds and have a 3rd sound below the split point. But the CP is limited to 16 quick recall favorites and WILL NOT transmit program changes to my Motif Rack ES. However, the GS allows for 64 quick recall favorites plus it will transmit program changes to a single User Bank of the Motif. Therefore, I could easily program the Motif to provide the 3rd layer/split part that is missing on the GS. Lastly, I hear that the CP action is far superior to the GS RH3 action which is not as piano like and stiff in my opinion. None of the retailers have inventory on the CP (for me to audition the action). I also hear talk that the CP is on the verge of being discontinued. Guitar Center blew out their remaining inventory at around $1500. BIG DECISION TO MAKE HERE.
Yeah the CP4 is a lovely keyboard but it is now looking a little old compared to what is currently out there. The release of the MODX has muddied the waters even more. Many are now going for a MODX7 or MODX8 and indeed we have a thread running on our forum about buying the CP4 of MODX8 which you can find here: yamahamusicians.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=109&t=7973&p=70502&hilit=Yamaha+CP4#p70502 In your case there are I think very specific reasons why you are only looking at the CP4 and KORG Grandstage as featured in this video so perhaps the MODX would not suit your purpose. Have you looked at it though?
now the Korg Grandstage 88 is all sold out every where... is it due to the chip shortage? They are not making it any more. Is there a replacement model?
It does seem that he has the dynamics up on everything in this demo...I would turn the dynamic knob way down and have the internal velocity curve at 9.
Sound nice ... but ... what an awful and bulky design. And the RH3 action isn't any better. For worse, it's heavy. These days no stage piano 73 should weight more than 30 lbs. And those tiny "screens"?. Please, it's 2019. Stop with these late 80s designs. You have a great touch screen for Kronos, and not for this?. At least give HDMI input to use a laptop as the needed screen.
I bought this because of its "heavier" RH3-keys. If this is too heavy for you there is other alternatives. Personally I don't want to carry around a 88-key piano but I very much want the piano's full weighted action. The screen isn't anything I care about, my eyes have no problem reading it. I just need a good sounding piano that feels like one. Grandstage 73 is therefor perfect for me, it's my gigging piano when the place doesn't have a real piano. Thank you Korg!👌
I have the 88, it's awesome, you don't need a big screen as everything preset sounds great. That is the grace of this piano. you turn it on and go!
How much have you bought it for? And may I also know where did you get it?

player is John Passarelli (NY)
Great demo, this instrument has a lot of good sounding 'meat and potatoes' keyboard tones. I'm digging it.
Very Very Sweet Sound.I Love Korg.Ihave.Korg M3.Korg Kross 2.Korg IX 300.I like Korg.
Incredible
woooooooooooooooooow woooooooooooow oh my goooood
Keyboard demos done right - all play and no talk

Loving this niceness
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fantastic demonstration! Bravo
I wanna know who plays the transistor organs and why you're taking our B3 space
Exactly
Look out everyone Korg has established new bar as far as stage pianos go...
Love my SV-1 73. This might be my new 88!
This is surreal.
A bit of a strange stereo spread/delay effect on the acoustic piano sounds. Not sure what's going on there.
This spread effect you can switch on and off with SW1 button
Wow. Nice.
love it
Let us have the italian grand and combo organ engine on the Kronos.
Apparently now they do have it with the SE model.
In The Mix what is se model,a synth or something?
@@robertmichalscheck3072 Kronos in Red. He has italian grand and other Stuff that kronos 2 doesnt has
How, does the Korg Grandstage compare to the RD2000?
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THAT QUESTION AS WELL🤔*'"??
@@DAVID.PIANISTA.PENTECOSTAL He was talking about ROLAND RD2000.
@@shubhajitchakraborty OH, OK , THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANSWER

What Amp will produce the cleanest sound for this synth? I have a QSC monitor that is currently not cutting it.
Это чудо.
I want this.
Which is better SV-2 or Grandstage?
SV2
I'm not good enough st piano to warrant wanting to spend $2k+ but man I really would love this piano as I continue to learn and get better
That is one very nice bit of kit. Sounds superb through TH-cam and I have no doubt sounds even better in person.

Grandstage X, just announced.
I'm guessing the chip shortage as well, or it commercially failed that badly.
So can you only layer 2 sounds?
yep....only 2 sounds at a time in either split or layer modes. Split is adjustable but no cross fade capability as on Kronos.
Are the keys fully weighted
yes
Is it possible to transer sounds (GSX-2 sounds) back and forth between GS and Kronos 2?
why such a small view screen?
maybe because the intention is to listen to the instrument, not to look?
No MIDI thru. How am I supposed to connect my synth if it's not USB ? Too bad.
Tine Dyno Chorus (5:02) - what is that strange pop/transient at the beginning of louder higher notes? (Great sounds anyway)
It is the dynamics knob turned up, you can adjust that
It does seem that he has the dynamics up on everything in this demo...I would turn the dynamic knob way down and have the internal velocity curve at 9.
Where's the Atlantis piano sound at.. ???
A good competitor for the "red ones" sounds great and also great demo...
What was the piece played on the Italian sound?
Sandstorm by Darude
Improvisation
is the Japanese piano a Kawai? doesn't sound like a Yamaha
I didn't hear any DX type electric pianos. Does this mean it doesn't have them? Great acoustics though.
Yes it has them.
So.. This or Kronos?
If you need a full fledged workstation , then go for Kronos !
