Thanks for this great video. Is there any way to allow Apple Car play to automatically show up when you get into and turn on the car? Instead of manually clicking the button at the top of the screen? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the comment. I think you will need to delete the CarPlay settings and then reconnect it again. Please follow the instructions below:
Settings > select “General” > select “CarPlay” > select your car > select “Forget This Car”
Then go back into your car and setup Apple CarPlay by following the instructions in this video.
Let me know how you get on please?

Thanks for the advice. Even with only one phone the car defaults to t-mobile wifi to connect which I don’t plan to purchase. It would be good to understand how to bypass this step and just immediately connect via bluetooth. Also when you try wireless charging it also defaults to t-mobile so annoying!!!

Did you buy a used car?
Try removing the bluetooth settings on your phone and on your car. Then connect the phone with a cable only and not Bluetooth.

Do you know if its possible to watch video on this system when parked? Such as youtube or netflix

    • @DrSaahb
      @DrSaahb  ปีที่แล้ว

Yes you can watch TH-cam. You can use your Hotspot feature off your phone (if you have hotspot) then the car will have access to the internet. I have watched my own TH-cam videos in the new GLC and C-Class.
I have not tried Netflix but TH-cam definitely worked.
I am going to try to record a video and edit a video about this feature in the next couple weeks so please subscribe to see that.
Which model do you own that has the latest MBUX system? Let me know how you get on in the meantime?

Sorry I didn’t get a chance to test this. I will try in the future if I get a car to test for long enough.
I have been able to watch mp4 video files from a USB memory stick aslong as the file size is not too big. Under 1gb it should work and maybe just over 1gb. Anything larger will probably not work. Watching Netflix might buffer if there is a poor signal. Let me know how you get on.

Thank you for this, Sir. I'd like to correct a minor error in the wireless technology used for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: Bluetooth LE is only used for commissioning (i.e. pairing). BTLE is not used anymore afterward as these wireless systems work through Wi-Fi instead. Indeed, Bluetooth does not have the necessary bandwidth to enable the CarPlay interface on the integrated display of the car wirelessly, which is currently streamed using the H.264 video codec, also called AVC (the next generation of CarPlay will use H.265, also called HEVC, to stream the interface through Wi-Fi, due to the increased number of supported screens in this future version).

How did you get your home screen to change to have the Navigation - Phone and Radio above the climate controls? I asked Mercedes if this page can be changed to do the exact same thing and they said it's not possible to edit the main screen which i thought is odd. It drives me crazy having to hit the home button just to get to the radio option. Ideally I would like the radio to be the background instead of the map but don't think that is possible?

@@DrSaahb 2024 GLC 300. Thank you, I had it on zero layer but didn't know I could change to classic so thank you. I do like zero layer better though and wish i could customize the 3 options at the bottom. That being said, I see you have 3 options but on my menu I only have 2 - Music and Device where you have those 2 and an additional box. Is that by the learning of the mbux or something you were able to customize? Thanks again for the quick reply

I prefer zero layer. The more you use it, the more it learns how you want the screen layed out during the day and night. Not sure if there is a quicker way for you to save a screen layout.

Just got the the GLC 2024 and so confused about how the wireless works with T-Mobile. Seems like the car defaults to looking for a wireless signal versus bluetooth or cable connect. Since I don't have the wireless on, it disrupts how Carplay is supposed to work. It is so confusing! You could do a video just on to properly set this up, especially if you are using two phones!

So UK customers get satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay as a standard feature. Which country did you buy your car from because some countries may charge to have it from factory or the option to buy it later through the Mercedes Me online Portal. Some countries may require you to take the car to the dealership to have the features fitted.
