2021 Toyota Sienna Tour From a Moms Perspective

  • Thanks for tuning into my first official TH-cam Video.
    A little back story.. In June of 2020 I wanted to sell more cars to make some extra income. I started a blog on Instagram called @the_car_mom and I started reviewing cars from a moms perspective. As a mom of a toddler and another on the way I realized there was such a hole in the market for car reviews for families. So @the_car_mom was born! In a few short months, my account grew so quickly it was hard to keep up with. The week before my daughter was born I finally hit 10k followers and had to stop touring cars. I was so excited she was here but it was so hard to walk away from what I had built. Well to my surprise, my account kept growing and now, 5 weeks into my maternity leave I just hit 25k followers.
    I have BIG goals for 2021 and one of them is starting on TH-cam. This was my first time filming and editing a video solo. It was also the first time I left my daughter. I was sleep deprived, nervous and rusty. Basically, what I am saying is, this is not the quality of video I wanted to put out. But I read a quote that really stuck with me.. "It's either one day or day one". So consider this day one of The Car Mom on TH-cam. The best is still to come.

    I love watching your content. I was looking at the.Sienna today online. They don't seem to have those huge sunroofs some of the other minivans have. We just rented a Pacifica for a couple days and the 3 panel sunroof was amazing. Would love to see a tour of the new Pacifica, especially the plug in hybrid one!

    There is so much stigma about driving a minivan it is unreal :( But the reality is we are a family of 6, with 4 kiddies under the age of 7. We just went from a Nissan Rogue to the Sienna 2021, and it's like moving from a 2 bedroom Manhattan apartment to a 6 bedroom house in the suburbs. The space is just unreal. The hybrid is awesome around town, and even on highways it still hauls ass. I've had no problem over-taking cars. But I think the biggest surprise for us was the turning radius. This thing can do a full u turn miles better and tighter than our rogue. I'd love to see you do actual test drives of cars though, not just interior walkthroughs and actually share what the drive is like.

    Just watched and I am impressed! Sitting in preschool drip off I envy the mini vans, I only have 2 kids so it's not crucial, so after sitting in one we opted for a 3rd row SUV...but if I had 3 kids this would be an awesome option! It seems all cars have a dark brown leather for their highest trim levels and I am just not a huge fan.

    It’s great that Chrysler now offers AWD with stow and go seats. It was great when we rented one and the dogs could lay down in the second row with the seat stored. two kids went on the third row and my toddler on the other captain chair. I didn’t find the seats particularly comfortable though. When we rode in an Odyssey I thought those seats were comfy and the second row spacious even with the bench seats. Unfortunately no AWD available from Odyssey yet. I think Chrysler has two monitors in the second row, which I think I prefer over a single screen from the Sienna

    • @MarcHeuberger
      @MarcHeuberger 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Monitors are such easy fixes these days on the aftermarket world. You can get those installed, or even just get headrest adapters for iPads/Amazon Kindles for so cheap on amazon, that it is literally never worth taking the entertainment packages unless you plan to lease and replace the car within 3 years. The tech is always outdated at that point, and at least with say headrest mounts, you can change/update the tablets as your car ages and still have decent tech.

    • @MarcHeuberger
      @MarcHeuberger 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was our other choice. I love how the middle seat in the middle row is on it's own tracks, so in theory you could have a car seat there all the way close up to the front row, and the middle captain seats all the way back, which would make it a lot easier to put a pacifier or feed a baby bottle from even the passenger front seat.... but... it's a Kia :( resell value + reliability past maintenance is well....

    I love Toyota Sienna vans but the aggressive front end and larger hood is not doing it for me. It has the same mouth-like grill Lexus cars have. It looks like it's going to eat you up and is so low to the ground. Inside is awesome but I like the cab forward design of the old vans.
