Actually, her NP gain is pretty much identical to Tamamo's, minus the refund on the NP of course. Which is still pretty bad, but definitely not -far- below average, thanks to the three arts cards alone.
As for team mates, I can't wait for BB to come out. She will give Illya everything she needs to completely negate her downsides:
Debuffs and survivability? BB has a 4-turn CD cleanse + heal + debuff immune skill.
NP Gain? Have a 20% charge everytime BB uses her own NP.
The enemy screws your 1-shot setup with an invincible? We can't have that, let's remove than invul and stun the enemy while we're at it.
Now slap a Tamamo on top of that and we're looking at a fairly spammable 50% NP charge plus a lot of heals _plus_ CDR. Not to mention that Fox Wedding gives Illya essentially three more Buster cards to play with.
Nine Flames Will NA even get the Fate/Extra CCC event? Fate/Extra CCC was never released in english on the PSP so wouldn't it be wierd to do the CCC event in a place where it was never released in?
I'm pretty sure they stated their intent to give us the event anyway. And I honestly don't think it would be a problem at all; I highly doubt that everyone who enjoyed the Kara no Kyoukai event also watched the movies, for example.
Besides, Japan just got a Summer BB who is also heavily involved in said summer event. Skipping the CCC event would then also mean skipping Summer 3 since it would make zero sense without BB and I really don't think they are going to pull crap like that.

I'm definitely going to pull for Illya. My offensive caster options are Caster Liz and...Medea I think. So I wouldn't mind options. And I do have options that can work with her like Nero Bride, Waver, Hans, etc. But even if she wasn't any good, I'd probably still pull for her just because I like the character anyways. She has weaknesses to work around, but that means raising the challenge a bit to build around her. Will see if I get lucky and get a chance to try.

Got a magical book, magical healer girl (thanks Medea Lily), and a magical nurse. I didn't realize Nightingale was that magical. Well...suppose that gives me another support option to pair with Jalter. Wasn't completely deprived of magical girls...I did get seven copies of Miyu's event CE.
Well there is only one way to cover for this. Kuro's getting maxed out to 100 as soon as those additional missions unlock.

Soooo got spooked by Sanzo on a single pull. Guess she was happy I praised her in your Illya spotlight and when Illya was about to appear she was like. “Master told G&A reviews he doesn’t need you because he has me!” And now I have NP4 Sanzo! I’m happy and I got the CE’s also Jean decided she wanted to be a magical girl too, so I pulled 2 non rate up 5 stars in less that 90 quartz.....I seriously need to get a lotto ticket.

Maybe the trick was that I needed Caster Nero before I could get Illya. That way a support Merlin can round things out.
Kidding aside, nice to be able to enjoy this spotlight knowing I’ve got Illya hanging around. 400 quart lost last year, but far less this time around. So it pays off.
A servant with her weak points. But they fit from a story perspective so I’m good with it. And at NP2 (seriously my luck went from F to EX out of nowhere here) her NP has quite the hit to it. Or at least it will when I can do her interlude...or get enough exp cards to level her.
If you need the mightiest of nukes, illya is your girl.

My only best Casters are Irisviel, Shakespeare, Andersen, Medea and more or less Babbage. So, that's a pretty neat collection, but I really want a powerhouse on my Caster list.

First time viewer and now subscriber. I was recommended your channel to check out Illya since she was my first 5 star pull alongside Cleopatra Assassin. I’m very new to the game though I’m a fan of the series. I’m glad to hear she’s not bad, but it does seem like there’s a lot of little/big things to take into consideration when using her. I’m about 2 months into the game and I’m hooked yet I’m still trying to figure it out. Great video and I’ll be sure to look at more :)

I'm noticing a trend in the Emiya family servants when it comes to NP gain. Or maybe it's just Kiritsugu, Iri and Illya with poor NP gain, Emiya's is fairly good and I've heard Kuro's is also good
It actually reflects Illya post 2wei episode 1 imo. Due to certain circumstances, Kuro took 2/3rd of Illya's total mana capacity, which forces her to fight smarter since she can no longer brute force her way using Installs(which she can't do in FGO) or if she really needs to brute fore, her Zwei form(which is dangerous, hence the debuffs), since she no longer has enough mana to do something like the huge mana ball in a short amount of time like she did back in season 1 episode 5.

I wasn't going to roll on the Illya banner, as I had no desire to pull her (or even play this event) whatsoever, but as it turns out I need some items from the event store this time around. So I decided to roll anyways, hoping that I could get some event CEs and make my life a little easier. After having pulled absolutely no event CEs over the course of 3 multis, however, I became very frustrated and decided to say "Illya come home" aloud mid-summon, thinking it might trick the gacha into giving me the CEs I was looking for...
...
...Nope! Imagine my shock when, without any gold dust, lightning or fanfare of any sort, *that very card turned out to be Illya.*
I have no words to describe this level of irony.

Rolling for Illya was a bit of a wild ride but I'm glad I got her in the end. I started rolling with 153 quartz and 63 tickets. First roll got both Herc and Saberlot in the same roll. Pretty good start but no Illya with the remainder of my quartz supply + tickets. Bought an $80 quartz pack and still no Illya but I managed to get Suzuka Gozen, Marie Antoinette, and ANOTHER Herc all in a single 10 roll. Also got d'Eon + another Gozen but still no Illya. Bought another $80 pack and first roll...both Rama and Illya :). Also got two of those Azure Magical Girl CEs in total so pretty good overall I'd say.
Time to get my whale on. I don't exactly need an offensive caster, partially cause I already have all the support servants released so far so I can just use one from a friend, and partly because my Medea's grailed and has proven more than enough. But having been spooked multiple times by EMIYA, Kerry, and Basaka, I feel kinda obligated too. Plus, Illya's just adorable.
I don't think her NP gain is an issue when you have Waver. Honestly having Waver makes every other servant better. For me ilya is a top 3 servant in the game.
But not everyone has waver and it’s kind of annoying to be chained to a support waver. Saying “just use waver” is basically just putting a band aid on a bullet wound
Stanley Guzman well I was specifically talking about myself, I have Waver at 10/10/10 skills so when evaluating servants I take into account what I already have.
That Kuro is already enough for me, even if Im not a yuri fan, sucks bcuz my avatar is a male hahaha but oh well Kuros a powerful archer next to my Nobu, so yeah Im gonna go get her
How do you know when a servant has an attack modifier? It's stupid that the game lies to you about their true stats.
Yea I never liked that there are so many hidden traits and stats that the game just doesn't tell you. As for the attack modifier, it is based on class:
Assassins and Casters- 0.9x damage modifier, effectively their atk stat is 10% weaker than what their stats say
Archers- 0.95x damage modifier, effectively 5% weaker atk than what is stated on their card
Sabers and Riders- 1.0x the only servants with an accurate atk stat
Lancers- 1.05x damage modifier, 5% higher atk than what is listed
Berserkers, Avengers, Rulers- 1.1x damage modifier, 10% higher atk stat than what is listed

Since both debuffs are inflicted by the same thing it should protect her from both, just like "1 time" evades protect from attacks with multiple hits. Don't quote me on that though, I'm not entirely sure.

I got Xuanzang during the summer event so I don’t really need Illya but I’ll still roll to get some of those craft essences but if I do get her I won’t complain
I beat a lot of the Prisma event using a Medea from my friend list and the Illya I rolled uhh pretty much day 1 of it. They are a great team because Illya basically has no weaknesses then.
Her and Chloe have become my tiny murder machines.
I am really glad I Summoned Illya two weeks ago, she was my main Damage dealer for Gramps's CQ and I did not have a good ST Caster until I summoned her, the Gacha is being nice for once at least haha...

I love Kaleid Illya (way more than regular Illya) but I'm poor after summer and I've just got Sanzang so I don't need a ST Caster ... That doesn't make me happy, but I won't roll for her. :/ I hope my "friends" will have her, at least.
It would have been cool if Illya had a passive that allowed her to use other servant's bond CEs since that is basically what Install: Phantasm Summon is.

Nathan Kima Prana is the umbrella term for magical energy. Mana is magic in the environment.
And while we're at it: The prana generated by living beings is called 'Od'
Though I would like to know where the translation got 'prana' from anyway. I'm pretty sure they just call it _maryoku_ in Japanese which simply translates into 'magic power' or 'magical energy'.

Oh well that's the gacha. My consolation prizes was 3 Nito (np4), 4 Helena (np.5), 3 Nursery Rhymes (np5), 7 Medea Lily (np.12), a Drake (np4) for some reason and a sh*t ton of CE. Basically enough to max lb all of them 5 times with spares to boot. Thanks Iilya there goes my Gramps, Ishtar, Memelin, Cleo, and maybe even Musashi savings >_

I'd say Nightingale works well in the backline for Illya, you can swap her in for the buster buff. So do Martha and Medea for the debuff removal in case you need it. And for longer fights I would advise Jeanne and Mash, especially post-camelot buff Mash

She's a badass soloer who can murder the shit out of Goetia though. That's on the level of Cuzilla. I'd have figured that'd net her some big points.
I see where you're coming from, but Xuanzang can also solo Goetia, I think the reason she gets a B is granted Illya does far more damage, she comes at some pretty hefty drawbacks, rather Xuan can just do NP after NP, not many drawbacks and granted; doesn't have an Invulnerability a guts or a heal herself, has a pretty hefty damage cut without making many sacrifices. Illya's just a bit more difficult to use overall.
Astolfo can solo Goetia. It isn't that impressive.

i think it's cuz you have to really think about how you use her. with cu alter (which i was lucky enough to get), you pretty much get to 'nope' a lot of enemies just cuz he can be hard to hit + crazy damage. Illya will die way too quickly if you're not a good strategist (like me)
solo Goetia? pfft if you get her to bond 10 that is, if not good luck on soloing Goetia without the bond bonus

The japanese name is 愉快型魔術礼装 (Yukai-gata majutsu reisou).
愉快 (yukai) means "pleasant; delightful; enjoyable; joyful; cheerful; amusing; happy"
型 (kata/gata) means "model; type (e.g. of machine, goods, etc.)"
魔術礼装 (majutsu reisou) is the term officially translated as "Mystic Code".
Therefore the accurate translation of the skill name would be "Cheerful-type Mystic Code", which if you have any knowledge of the Prisma Illya anime you would know describes Ruby perfectly.
what about: "Pleasure Seeking Mystic Code" ?
I'm 100% rolling for her. I haven't rolled once since I started playing and have saved every single quartz and ticket I've gotten so far. Up to 1032 SQ and 156 tickets as of now. Aiming for just 1 copy but if I get really lucky early on I'll go for NP2. Not going for more than that so I can save for other servants, like Kiritsugu so I can reunite her family.

And Nightingale is a great support for her. She'll be way better with her strengthening quest that upgrades her healing skill... but we won't get that on NA for a long time.

I've finally got Illya from doing multiple single rolls last night! I was astonished when she just appeared when I've used up most of my SQ. Well, at any rate it looks like that I'll need to go back on saving SQ for Merlin whenever he'll appear in NA....
so, soberoni, although you mentioned Xuanzang's synergy with Ilya, is Xuanzang a good enough offensive caster that I could avoid rolling for Ilya? I already went through a lot of quartz for summer, and would probably rather save for things like (hopefully) another Tamamo caster rateup and Merlin later this year.
Otherwise, I think I'm mostly planning to roll for the Prisma event CEs
Yea, Sanzou is more than enough offensive caster then you will ever need from a gameplay perspective so you can skip this gacha
@@GAReviews otherwise for this banner, what about getting Medea as a healer? The thing is that i'm thinking I'd prefer Tamamo caster in the long run for supporting servants like Ibaraki (at least until Merlin's released) and Summer Mordred with more than just heals, and I've been pretty happy using support Tamamos for just that lol

So I would've done a police joke or something but i got to ask...what's the point of having an offensive caster? Yeah i get class advantage vs assassins but i feel it'll just be as effective with a berserker provided you can cover for them. Please help me understand that
No, you seem to understand it very well lol. There is very little point in a purely offensive caster. Most offensive casters have some type of utility to make up for not being the optimal choice against assassins, Sanzou has a crazy good NP buff for the party and debuff nullification, Medea has buff removal etc... In Illya's case she kinda has a heal, but the only reason you would take her over a berserker is that she can outdamage most of them with her NP alone, mine is NP1 and can hit for 250k easily whereas my NP5 Herc for example hits for a lot less on his NP. That and casters resist assassins so if you want someone tankier. Maybe I should do a video on this

AND her she is everyone!!!! IN MY OPINION, The Best Caster in the Game!!! I've been waiting for her all year, and I intend to get her, AND I fully intend to Whale for her if I have to, which if I do, she'll be the First Servant I've ever had to Whale for!!! (Surprisingly didn't have to whale during Summer; don't ask me how, lol. ^_^) Illya will become my Main Servant and I'll be using her ALL THE TIME, for EVERY MISSION/QUEST and I'll be loving every minute of it!!! Also Sober Oni, it makes me happy to hear that she's your Caster of choice as well; I've always knew that you had good taste, but now I can say that you've got AMAZING TASTE, good sir!!! lol ^_^ Keep being Awesome Sober Oni, and I'll cya in the next Servant Spotlight, later!!! ^_^

How often does she appear in other gacha rate ups in the future?
Well she does appear in most of the coming guaranteed banners, although not the next one we're getting. From what I can tell outside of those she'll appear again during the 2019 new years banner and another one about a year from now in August 2019. Not incredibly common, but will have a couple chances next year.
I'm gonna pull but I'm aiming for Helena (Medb would be nice too). I got NP2 Sanzou for all my ST caster needs already. Though watch me get spooked...

So i'm a new fgo player of 14 days now and so far with 60sqs used to summon and about a dozen tickets i managed to get spooked by an archer arturia this caster illya and the 5* ce for the current event. Besides those 3 summons i also managed to pull 0 4* servants and a handful of crappy 4* ces. Don't get me wrong i'm excited i managed to summon two waifu 5* summons already but for a game i heard has such bad rates, I can't believe my luck to pull 3 5*s (2 servants and 1 ce) before any 4* servants.
On a side note, any tips for how to use illya? Without the strengthning quests for her np and kuros strenghtning that adds the buff success rate to pair her with she seems a lot more lackluster then my other 5* artoria. My best units right now are lvl 60 herc lvl 70mash lvl 80artoria lvl 60 illya and the kuro once i get her, with my only notable craft essences being the 2 free kaleid ones and the 5* event ce but outside of just tossing them all on a team im not sure how to make a coherent team with them.
Yea without the right pieces and her buffs Illya can be underwhelming. Best thing I can say is take a support waver and put her, Waver, and Mash in the front line. You'll have an extremely tanky team and Illya will be able to do considerable damage and have good NP gain thanks to Waver

In the case of attributes, Man refers to humans, as in mankind. It's generally referring to servants that don't have heavy mythical traits or divinity.

I been seening a lot of videos of how to Use illya careful so I’m summoning for her for my own sake I got one caster but. I got a lot of friends that can help me with illya while I’m at it
Managed to roll illya on some leftover quartz from rolling for martha. The only time that sort of thing happens is for servants I didn't actually want (like shuten). Now my wallet should have enought time to recover for new years/king hassan as the next few events don't have any servants I particularly care for (not even ishtar).

I just got her through a yolo solo pull out of desperation for any event ce's. Sadly, she'll has to wait for a while since Squirtoria and S.Martha is demanding to be upgraded. Man you can never have enough xp cards. :(
Wait, isn't Merlin or Caster Nero your go to caster?
I don't have Merlin, but yea Nero is my go to along with Illya. I pretty much don't use any other casters (Aside from Tamamo for arts memes)
