I've never gotten why people consider him a trap. He is a "beautiful" man like Bedivere, not a "cute" one like Astolfo. It might need a double take, but he is clearly a man from his design.

Well, he is clearly desingned to look not just "handsome" but "feminine", thats why he is voiced by an actual woman unlike Bedivere who is just a good looking dude. If you imagine what he would look like as girl he would barely change at all XD.

The guy is my MVP in story chapters after Mash was nerfed in LB1. His NP is crazy strong and useful.

@@dr.grailde1965 At the beginning of the second part of the story she gets new skills which aren't as good as the ones she originally has.
@@dr.grailde1965 After the lostbelt arc begins in earnest, Mash gets downgraded and her skills get nerfed. You can still use her pre-nerf form in certain events and all the stages prior to the lostbelts, but in the lostbelt chapters, you're stuck with her Ortenaus form.
As for why she gets nerfed, it's tied to a major story spoiler, so I won't mention that here unless you do want to get spoiled.
Honestly, after just kinda accepting Mash’s new skill set I’ve been able to make her work much better than everyone made me think she would.
Sure, she’s no longer the Queen of Defense Buffs and her NP is objectively worse than what she got from Camelot, but both of those things were borderline OP anyway, especially for a 0-cost free servant
Double taunts with one having Invincibility attached has arguably saved more lives than her old targetable Invincibility for me, and Bunker Bolt continues to surprise me with its offensive results on “bad” card turns.
@@Mazekial She definitely isn't a bad servant. People are just bummed out because of their experience with Pre-LB Mash. But she hasn't reached her full potential yet, so I'm personally intrigued by how DW will handle her developments in the future. And you gotta admit, pile bunkers are sexy.

When I first saw this servant I thought "Here is a straight upgrade to CasGil." but there are upsettingly few people other then yourself who review anything other then 5 star servants so I've waited about a year and a half for that confirmation lol.

His real name is Gao Changgong. Lanling Wang literally means Prince of Lanling, it's a title. I kinda wished they used his real name instead of his title but with that said, love this boi ❤️ he's max skilled and I want to NP2 him, 1k damage cut is too good
Weird enough, examining how the writing for Wang is used in Chinese & Japanese, i'd be surprised if Wang means Prince in the former but is called King in the latter (as a standalone kanji)
@@sixteenthbluemoon7606 in chinese 王 refers to royals, to be specific 王子(wangzi) means prince. I'm not really sure about japanese though, but chinese hanzi and japanese kanji have similarities

I think he's supposed to look like that. It is written that he wears a mask to battle because he looks too girly to scare his foes. Also, he is one of the Four Most Handsome Men in Ancient China, so it looks like bishounens were popular even 1500 years ago.

He's really good, he's an arts star generator and his NP is straight up better than Waver somehow, and has 20% arts and charisma and fixes RNG units like the Illyas and Imperila priv gang but with that said
I can't roll because of other things I want arriving soon and Xiang Yu is just too niche for me, and I just got Ereshkigal(only cost 90sq and 17 tickets though but I am f2p and sorry for humble bragging ) but I can't give in no more, Caster Gilgamesh is enough for me

congrats, i spent 90sqs + 15 tickets on eresh banner to get nothing but another Napoleon and Assassin of Shinjuku lol. Hopefully my luck will turn around when i pull on langling's banner

Am happy for him but i would be lying if i said i wasn't extremely salty the last few days. Got about 60 more sq and 2 tickets to roll for her coming Thursday and then it's over for.

Just a good overall Support character, that will stick around in a fight with high HP and excellent defensive skill.
His every use in arts team and some others just makes him wonderful addition to anyones chaldean.
I have a quick question. If his Demonic Face Ex already gives him 60% chance to apply his buff, why don't I get all of those buffs on the character I used Vigorous Bamboo lv10? Since it's now 40% plus the the 60%?

He's a great support. He sadly doesn't perfectly align with the np spam setups that arts ends up favoring later, as a fair bit of his kit is centered around crits. Still, he's got a good buff suite, an np charge and an amazing defensive NP. If you ever need to go long, he's very competitive with other arts supports due to how great his NP is. He does also allow some arts crits if you need to do single target damage.

@@EdmondDantes-ht2xb Ugh, I actually stopped playing so I don't remember everything perfectly. But are you using Vigorous Bamboo on someone other than Lanling? Cuz that's boosting their buff success rate, not his. His buff success rate will stay at 60% unless you buff himself with it. So you can either choose to enable his NP and his random buffs or use him as a swappable np battery, but you can't do both at once.

@@EdmondDantes-ht2xb I am a bit confused what you meant. VB will boost the buff success rate of the skills of whoever it targets since it's a targetable skill. Most buffs by default are 100% success rate, but Lanling's demonic face success rate for the star and crit buffs are 60%. If you target him with VB, it raises his Demonic Face crit and star buff 60% success rate to 100% (and the arts boost from 100% to 140%, which only matters if you have a buff success rate down debuff or something), and thus will be guaranteed for the whole party.
If you target an ally with VB and then use Demonic Face, the whole party still has just a 60% chance to get the crit buff because it's based on Lanling's skill success rate and you didn't ever buff his skill success rate (the skill success rate of allies doesn't matter for this purpose). The ally targeted by VB will get their skills success rates raised by 40%, which usually will raise most buff skills to 140%, which doesn't matter usually, but it might matter to enable an Imperial Privelage user like Ozymandias.

I've been playing him wrong this entire time😭😭 I got it, you use the buff on LanLing so his skill gets the success rate up, then you use Demonic Face Ex and everyone gets its buff. I swear I watched the guides but I missed out on that, I was using VB on everyone else but him. Dude, thank you, I'm so dum🤣
For me Lanling is that kind of char that you really want because of amazing kit, but can't pull cuz your heart isnt into him

Lanling is my boy in JP. I'm actually the most excited for him out of all the lostbelt 3 servants. He'll work well with my recently acquired CasGil, since Tamamo has been avoiding me like the plague.
JP server player here. I actually used my SSR ticket on Tamamo because she kept avoiding me. Never mind that the smart thing would've been to redeem Waver, I wanted my fox.
Summer Medb, Saberlot, Lanling is probably my favorite offensive arts saber combo. Other options are Mash, Jeanne, And the 3 support options previously said. Summer Medb and saberlot have way too much synergy going on to break them up, and Lanling can make them a real boss-killing threat.

This video was the first I watched on this channel, and Lanling Wang was the first high-rarity Servant I summoned. Recently got him to level 100, with NP 2 and maxed-out skills, and if I'm able to I will definitely work towards level 120 (and maxed Fous too, though it's hard for me as a casual player lol). So, this is real late, but thanks for the catalyst back then, and keep up the great Servant reviews!

You don't know how long I have been waiting for this analysis. He's my most wanted servant in LB3 and definitely the last one in this year. Even though my arts support is stacked af already, seeing his gameplay when watching ka ga's videos sold me from getting him.

This boi carried me during Shishoufest against the Berserker nodes =v=
Defeated Raikou all by himself, cleared out Xiang Yu's last HP bar and held out against Heracles, taking out his first hp bar before his own went out.
He also a solid semi-support unit imo, he could do both damage & buffs on my end.
Would recommend this pretty boi =v=
Lakshimi bai also has great team comp with him. Both sabers & she has a skill that raises the entire team's buff success rate which will really help his EX skill
I’m more amazed by Nero’s new sprite in this video than how much utility Lanling has, but yeah his summer sprite is pretty dope too

it is rather strange isn't it? Lanling Wang would be a much better fit w/ Shi Huang Di since one is an emperor and one is a prince. While Consort Yu is actually Xiang Yu's wife.
I know this is a video talking about Lanling, but I pretty much spent the whole video admiring Nero's beautiful 5th anniversary costume (when she was on screen).

Anyways, Lanling is by far my most desired servant of all the lostbelt 3 since I love arts so much! However personally since I am still saving sq in hopes of getting Space Ishtar by free sq alone, he will have to wait a couple of years until he is on the free 4 star ticket. But as you pointed out, he is nigh invaluable with how much he brings to teams, especially arts ones! Certainly worth rolling for early if one can afford it!

Another good spotlight. Definitely a solid arts support. Good for a lot of arts teams.
But I’ll likely just pass this time. Already used too many quartz and next year isn’t that far off. Plus when push comes to shove I’ll always lean to Nero Bride as main support saber. If he spooks at some point that’s fine.

I'm using him as part of my main Arts looping team in JP. It's nice to have that little extra boost for NP charge and generation.
Besides Mothman, I'd like to get this boy too when the banners come up.
Protection from arrows invuln (2 hits but oh well), attached to a charisma is nice. A little np battery for the team in a clutch situation, also Ramses gets a helping hand (or Ishtar if she's suitable), could work their way into an arts stall team or gil squad, but with an extra buster card they're pretty balanced to take on casual missions or pair up with more buster focused characters.
It’s nice to finally get some good art support. Plus he’s so freaking cute!

Nice, review, he was just as I expected. I was thinking about rolling for him but I also want QSH as well. I don't always want to rely on the chance of getting spooked by a 4★ as a way of getting them, but that might be the better decision here since QSH is limited, and I wouldn't mind getting at least one copy of Yu Miaoyi since she's story-locked. The buff she receives in a little less than two years has me thinking about her. I don't really know what to do, but maybe it would a good idea to roll for Lanling when I have a better chance to get him than I normally would.
Don't forget that you can also get either 4* from the free 4* tickets that pop up every now and then if you really want them.
(I know NA literally just got one, but it's probably a good idea to keep this in mind for the next one)

I've had him in JP for about two years and I agree that he's just STELLAR. Lanling/Merlin BBAA Servant with decent NP gain is one of my favorite shells to run. Munenori especially is a ton of fun in that team. So damn safe.
I'm not rolling on this banner but I won't complain if Lanling spooks me in the future

He's also great with Shiki because, on top of taking her Arts crits EVEN FURTHER BEYOND, you can use him to support her against Rider bosses that would melt Caster supports in 2 turns.

So I was pulling on the pre 5th anni banner earlier today cuz SIN servants were on rate up. I really wanted Lan Ling cuz I like his skills , but ended up pulling Xiang yu. Unfortunately for me I was planning to roll the GSSR for Arjuna alter and I feel as though this is a bad premonition.
