For your “first time”, these turned out great! The “yet” may be only a short time because you look like you are well on your way to becoming a bookmaker. The construction of, deconstruction of, and then the construction of this improved version was fascinating to watch. Thanks for sharing it.
Hey man I'm new to your channel but i've bing watched to catch up! You're definitely among one of the best cobblers around and I know a few! Excellent work Aaron!
As someone who prefers 6” boot over 8”, boot cut-down videos are the best. But man…I would be sweating taking the vamp apart. It’s too easy for a master craftsman like you. ¡Fantastico! 🙌🏽
Looks amazing man, beautifully done. I wish I could get custom work like this where I live. There’s only one shop left and they only do basic repairs now.
Hey Brother!! They look awesome ❤😊!!! I think you could have added a cap toe to the vamp since you were replacing the vamp anyway, and resoling the boot anyway still a super great idea.🎉 I ❤ the 6" boots with a cap toe. Keep up the great work!!!
@@gk5891 it just makes no sense. My Franks and Wesco’s are worth resoling. I do have a pair of Carolina’s I use for specific work. I work with certain floor finishes that will destroy a boot . Hence the need for a good throwaway
@@Dukeofmamucas I've got a set of Duradero for those type applications. I don't know how well they will hold up yet, but between their sales, discount codes and a free rebuild we will see if they are cost effective.
I think they look great. Had I commissioned the job, I'd have asked for a rolled top on the upper. But they're still amazing looking. The Horween CXL matches great, and will give them that amazing looking patina as the overdye begins to wear off. Great job again!
Man you did a great job. I think they look amazing, much better then ok. Give yourself more credit my friend. If you end up not liking them I'd buy them off you.😁
Sir, where are you located ? I have a pair of Timberland Men's White Ledge Mid Waterproof Boots. I am on knees a lot keep getting holes in the front leather. I am not sure what to do
Maestro Aaron, I was SO happy to see this! My first loggers were Georgias (1998!) and they've been sitting in the corner for years and I *just* partially deconstructed them *exactly* to replace the vamp, toe counter, sole, and eyelets/hooks!! What an inspiration. I might need to go with honey soles now because these look so bomb! I'm not sure I'll replace the heel cups because they're plastic but good quality. (These boots have surprisingly tough build quality despite many cheap components, like the finished leather, paper footbed, plastic welt, and rubber filler). I'm planning to do roughout vamps and heels. One question: where did you find a last that's a great fit for you? I'd love to get a modified 55 from Drew's or a Thurman55 from Nick's, but not sure they'd send me one. 😅 I ask because the shape of the vamp/toe on these looks fantastic and they look great on you.
Thanks! If you ask me I’m not to happy with the last I used for this project, but it was the only pair I had, I ordered them from Mexico (Guanajuato) I asked for a different shape and they sent me a totally different one so I don’t recommend those guys and Will never by again with them.
@@AaronG2480 Maybe not... but maybe they want to do a collaboration video with you like they've done with Trenton and Heath or RoseAnvil and send you the materials for a project! 😉🤞
Wow! Great job AaRON! Very impressed with this awesome work. Las botas quedaron perfectas 👏👏☝️🔥 estoy esperando los otros videos para ver las otras botas que compro
Te quedaron perfectamente bien. No sólo “ok”. Me parece que la forma del “toe box” es muy atractiva. Unas botas rudas como cualquier bota del PNW. Tu trabajo es muy detallado. Te felicito ampliamente y ojalá y te “avientes” a hacer botas algún día.
Wow Aaron, I really am impressed with your skill set and i am sure you will be a great bootmaker soon. I find this whole trade of shoemaking really cool, something that I am starting to dabble with (I am a carpenter about to retire and want a low impact hobby to play with).
*The boots are so good, it makes me want a pair lol 😊! Wow you did an incredible job on these! I see this is from 2023. How are the boots feeling lately? Comfortable?*

In my opinion, Aaron, the best project and the best video you've done! The result is just stunning!
Yeah, this one might be tops for me, too.
Thanks so much Bryce!🙏🙏

Came here to say this. Loved this video and I hope you do more creative projects like this. Thank you.
dont sell yourself short you did an outstanding job on them very impressive work.
The best!

Very nice job. It seems that most boots are really cheaply made. A few small changes makes a huge difference.

I love those Honeys, but I wish they wore a little slower.
Refreshing to hear someone admit what they don't know. Good job...
They have a beautiful shape to them and outsole contrast well with the blue
You made those boots pretty much entirely and they look great ! $500 for hand made boots is almost cheap. Nicely done !
Thank you!
OH man, Aaron is in the Pacific Northwest bootmaking game now. These looked great.
Thank you sir!

We’ll of course they fit you Aaron, your the master craftsman and they’re bespoke 😂
I found your channel about a month ago and have watched a bunch of your videos, but this one is the best one I’ve watched…you are a true artist.
Thanks a lot !🙏

The cutdown was actually requested by you 😅
As for the vamb I was sweating too 😅😅😅

Fabulous pair of boots. You did an amazing job.
Just watched this. I love how you reminded me of a Nicks Boots video. You're well on your way to making your own boots. Keep it up!
Thank you so much 🙏
Really fascinating to see the nitty gritty of cobbling. Keep it up! I love videos like this. Great work, Aaron!!!

15% Georgia, 85% custom 🤣
It's so soothing watching you work!
Excellent Job Aaron!!!! You're well on your way to becoming a Boot Maker!!
Thanks so much!
outstanding craftsmanship
Exceptional craftsmanship and a beautiful pair of boots at the end of it. I still think I personally would have left them at 8".
Thanks
Excellent job! I canr wait to see you make your own line of boots!
Looks great to me. Maybe you should just start making your own from scratch. I'd take a pair
Thanks, I will but not just yet!
I’m always amazed what a good cobbler can do , I’m surprised some would spend that kind of money on a throwaway boot like that
I would spend $330 (I've got a $20 coupon) on a set of Frank's Boots Patriot long before I would spend $190 for a Georgia AMP Logger.
@@gk5891 it just makes no sense. My Franks and Wesco’s are worth resoling. I do have a pair of Carolina’s I use for specific work. I work with certain floor finishes that will destroy a boot . Hence the need for a good throwaway

Beautiful job, 2 things do you let the glue dry and activate ? Also you need a shoe press. otherwise your work is outstanding
15 minutes are good enough for the glued to be ready , i use my heat gun after that.
I do have sole press, but it can be done without it
Thanks 🙏
