    Thank you! I really got what you're saying, it's been hard for me to put my understanding of the archetypes into words and it's a pleasure to watch you do it so meaningfully.

    I’m a Taurus and the first time I picked up my tarot deck the Hierophant flew out 😆 ! It happens so many times now, the card definitely means something to me.

    What a fantastic example! This really helped me in terms of where to start when searching for archetypes. Gotta go study some Jung now haha.

    This is great! I really liked this video. I agree it just doesn’t matter what card you pull - the point is to find what in the card speaks to you & that is what you were meant to see..

    I just saw a few of your videos already and I think I am going to binge watch them! 😊 I love the subjects that you choose and the knowledge and cultural stuff that you put in these videos. You have an unique style, more sophisticated than other witchy channels I would say. Anyway everyone has their own style lol. I find your dream so interesting. It also make me think about the akashic records in a way. I know Jung for a long time but never really investigated the subject . But I always loved that he had a spiritual point of view of psychanalysis unlike Freud the" fraud " to me ( I hate that as...le 😂).
    I also use oracle cards that are called the archetypes cards in my readings I recommend them.
    I will try what you said in the videos I m not sure what archetypes attracts me for example I have to dig into that but with my therapist we were talking about the goddesses archetypes I was attracted to that was making a lot of sense 😊 ❤.
    Yesterday I was also reading the link between numerology and tarot and my card is the 8th so justice in tarot de Marseille or strength in Rider Waite Smith but I still don't really feel how it is applying to me...I find that approach also interesting though. As a french person I was raised with the Marseille version I mean not raised well you know that was my first encounter with it but I connect much better with the Rider Waite Smith...and I always feel confused with this 8th card lol...

    What do you think about the " destiny code" or the system to read it.
    I just learned about it & I'm intrigued, you seem knowledgeable will love to hear your opinion more than one claims to be the creators & many books created. So what's your point of view & if it's a good topic to learn which book you will recommend

    So my binge watching of your channel is finished with this one 😂 I love this as this is where I started taking my personal practice with tarot the last month. If you haven't read it already, I highly recommend the book tarot as a way of life by Karen Hamaker-Zondag. It's a Jungian approach to the tarot and really interesting!

    It is a leap to claim that tarot card pictures are archetypes. They are just pictures used as an aid in divination. If a tarot picture was an archetype, it would occur to us in dreams, it would be present in folk tales, it would be a common theme in songs, it would show up in other kinds of art, etc. None of the pictures on tarot cards qualify as being archetypes. Dream images are archetypes or metaphors, but not tarot cards. For example, if you dream that you are driving a car, this means how you are navigating your life. If you dream that you are in the passenger seat and someone else is driving, this means that you are not behind the driver's seat of your own life.

    • @PersephonesSister
      @PersephonesSister  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I could not disagree more. The tarot archetypes do show up in our dreams and mythologies. How can we not see the Lovers in Helen and Paris? Or the High Priestess in the figure of Sophia? Or the Hermit in Merlin? I think where we get limited in thinking about archetypes is in the names. We think if something does not have the exact same name (i.e. the Princess vs the Damsel) they must be different. But this comes from a misunderstanding of what archetypes are. Archetypes are the “psychics organs” of the unconscious human experience (as Jung put it), and there are an infinite number of them. The tarot trumps without doubt show these psychic organs. The Tower, Strength, the World-I can’t imagine how not to see them as universal experiences of humanity.
      Perhaps you just do not agree with an archetypal approach on the tarot, which is totally ok. Some people have a very strict and traditional way of thinking about the cards. But I believe the tarot can connect us to something deeper within ourselves, and always will 😊

      Good grief. By the same token you could claim that the Emperor card is an archetype for Santa Claus, and the Knight of Swords is an archetype for the Easter Bunny. Making claims does not make reality. Vague similarities do not count as archetypes.@@PersephonesSister

    • @PersephonesSister
      @PersephonesSister  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @jamesnammack7535 what are similarities other than correspondences? By even acknowledging archetypes exist (which you don’t have to), you are accepting that they a patterns of energy that despite the arbitrary titles given to them remain consistent. Different languages, peoples, cultures will call them different things. This is what classifies them as archetypes. They are still the same energetic constellation. It is the correspondences that help us discover and identify them across time and culture.

    • @jamesnammack7535
      @jamesnammack7535 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For things to qualify as archetypes, there has to be some universality to them. Just calling something an archetype because it has some vague resemblance to something else is not an archetype. Take the imagery in dreams, for example. An image of your driving a car always means how you are navigating your life, and has nothing to do with actual cars. It has the same meaning for everyone all over the planet. For that reason, you can accurately say that the dream imagery of driving cars is an archetype. But claiming that the Emperor card is an archetype for Santa Claus has no universality, and because it has no universality, it is not an archetype. Personal associations do not count as archetypes. For something to be an archetype, it has to have universality. Personal associations do not qualify as archetypes for that reason. @@PersephonesSister

    • @PersephonesSister
      @PersephonesSister  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @jamesnammack7535 I agree! I certainly did not say the Emperor is Santa Claus, but the Hermit is a good example. I likened him to Merlin. There’s an archetype Merlin connects to-the old wise man. Jung wrote a lot about this archetype, connecting it to the elder mentor who is isolated, symbolically removed from society’s rules, connected to the Self, pursuing his own wisdom. This describes Merlin perfectly, and it describes the Hermit perfectly. You are right that personal associations do not make an archetype. But the lack of individual associations also does not deny the existence of an archetype. I have worked with Jung’s writings and the writing of so many other archetypal tarot scholars enough to know without any question that they possess an archetypal nature. I have also seen it countless times with my clients.
      We may not agree, that’s ok! But the trumps as archetypes is something that is irrefutable to me so we may just have to agree to disagree there!
