  • In this video, i will show you how to pad text in excel. This is one of the most pressing problems that people will come across while data cleaning.
    I have used text formula to pad the unequal length of record to equal length of record.
    Identify the max length of the array using len(max(a1:a9).let us say the max length from the array is 6
    Then use a text formula =text(a2,"000000").
    Post then i have used replace,concat,rept,right,left to mask number.
    To know more about masking number , please follow this link.

    How to mask mid of the string using concat?

    • @karpagamexcelprime
      @karpagamexcelprime  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Imagine your text is in A2 which consist of 11 digits,similar to this 00112233445. Use this formula
      =concat(left(A2,4),"***',right(A2,4)).
      Which will get the answer as 0011***3445 .
      Hope this would have solved your query 🙂

    Example: "Train (11005)". How to extract only numbers 11005 from the given string

    • @karpagamexcelprime
      @karpagamexcelprime  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Use right function :
      In this case Train(11005). The number of character for 11005 is 5 . Imagine the text is in A2. Use this formula. =right(A2,5). This will extract the 5 digits.
      Hope this would have solved the query 🙂
