First time someone showed me this trick I kept guessing it again and again and again like correctly for like five times so they thought I'd gotten it but I didn't actually guess it I was just guessing the number and being really lucky I did eventually actually figure it out it was a really funny trick when I realized I was just guessing the correct number

I LOVE this trick, we always do it with spoons. I've had people going for hours, the secret is to have someone that no one knows is in on it and have them eventually "get it" to drive up the frustration.
A red cross volunteer taught me this one, with spoons too
I’ve played this game in a similar fashion, but with a confederate who is in the group and is holding a drink. The answer is the number of fingers (includes the thumb) he has touching the glass. The glass can be on the bar or held free. The minimum is zero and the maximum is 10. It is even more effective if, when accused of just making up the answer, you call over someone who is in on the secret but could not have heard you and they come up with the same number. This validation can be used over and over.
BTW, Josie is a delightful young lady. Please don't saw her in half.

When I first played the game, it was with playing cards. It made it all the more fun when you discover the trick and then helped the game-master by pretending to do some mental math (while mouthing and pointing at random cards) when you correct others with the right answer
I love these secret code type episodes. I love the "I know something you dont" type of things
I’m cool with these episodes, but I hate the games because it would always be one person that would have 50 games, and this one was one of the only ones I actually got. It’s fun to see it, but it isn’t fun to be constantly the person out of the loop. Especially because the friend didn’t know how to put a lit match in her mouth or find my card in a scrambled deck beforehand

He didn’t put any fingers down. Maybe because he didn’t have a chance to, so that ended up being the answer, or that was the answer the whole time. We will never know.

When I did this and they answered fast I made them right sometimes to make them think they were on the right path.
Edit: I did this with a deck of cards to to make it more confusing.

Oh man, these games you've been doing remind me of when I did boy scouts and we would camp all week long and show the new scouts the games and see how long it took for them to figure them out. "under the umbrella" is another good one!

Brian! I thought it was how many objects were NOT touching any other objects. If you watch back all the trials, it actually fits the data very closely.
I don't like tricks that set boundaries and then expect you to answer outside of them. The whole point of a game is to smartly work within those boundaries, otherwise "the answer is two and if you say no i will punch you in the face" is a completely valid answer too

paused at 7:00 and i didn't read any comments. i'm pretty sure the answer has less to do with the way the sticks are thrown, and more to do with Brian.
i won't give away any more than that, but if i'm right, i think it might be one of the first it'll be the first time i've picked it up BEFORE the people Brian is trying to scam.

This reminds me of... I forget the name of the game, but basically we just took turns in a circle and could only say "two up" "one up, one down" or "two down," and the person who introduced the game would tell us whether we guessed right or wrong.
Only the game host gets it right for a while (except for a few lucky guesses from other players), but when someone finally realizes it's the position of the current caller's hands, you start seeing some sly smiles and some interesting poses when they call their own!
(I can further explain to anyone interested).
What is this game anyway? I've never heard of it. So I don't know what they are guessing at particularly when they say zero. Anybody care to explain for me please?

I was curious to see if you would do elbow bumps again, like you did last week. This is how tattooers have been shaking hands, for forever. Since we have to wash hands/change gloves so often we take every opportunity to minimise it. These days it makes sense for us all to make a habit of! Hense I say, bring on the day of the elbow bump!

We would play this when sitting cross legged using only a knife, fork and spoon! We would put them in random positions, and then have your fingers resting on our legs for all to see! Great memories of drinking games at university. :-D

Funny, I said that when I saw the original Scam School video of this trick.
When I initially learned this trick, the person was teaching me "Chinese numbers" and was deliberately setting them up every time. eventually they started throwing them randomly and it was driving me nuts lol
You know what would be fun to add to this game is to think what could determine the number using the sticks such as how many ended up crossed and then for a few rounds make that number with you fingers and then when they discover the number matches the amount of crossed sticks you just go back to random numbers with your fingers. Just popped into my head so I figured I'd share the idea with y'all.
On second viewing... You really see how evil Brian is with all his clues and misdirection.
Growing up at family dinners the grown ups would play a game called "Nevada Nevada" it was so exciting when i finally figured it out after years of trying
Brian, How about the 10 within the 10's trick with Josie. You point to the cards and Josie, after her back is turn, she finds the picked card.
I did this trick to 5 guys stuck with me in a room for 8 hours. 1 person figured it out. when we finally told the rest how it was done half the room wouldn't speak to me for about a day claiming I had cheated them.
Used to play this as a drinking game using 2 bar spoons. Take turns throwing the spoons and say the number. Those who didn’t understand ended up very drunk lol
Tbf I dont think Josie could even see half of Brian's hand gestures from there she sat. In the orginal episode he was so bold but this time the finger touches were incredibly sly

I wanted to try and figure it out before the reveal and I tried to find a site to practice with and get more rounds like I did with Petals around the Rose, and I was so frustrated because I just couldn't understand why there wasn't any site that I could use to play the game

the beauty of Josie being brought in on this is that this proves that all of scam school was just dad training for annoying your kids.
We once did this trick with a really smart kid and after awhile he suddenly burst out in tears that he couldn't figure it out without the "hints" the stick thrower was giving! He'd gotten it but didn't know it!

We play a game in boy scouts to annoy the young scouts the diffreance is we carefully lay sticks so people think we have a secret number system

I learned this game as a trading game where you where trading with an Indian and couldn't talk to each other and he would take random things and arrange them in front of him while sitting cross legged and signal the amount on his knee
