The sound is dependent on the colour of the vinyl. The pigment they have in black vinyl is a smoothing component which is why they sound the best. Back in the day, picture discs were the worst because of the clear vinyl. There was a lot of noise.
The colourant they use for black vinyl is carbon, when it's mixed with the naturally translucent pvc used for making records, it makes the vinyl more rigid, improving the sound quality. The reason picture discs sound bad, is because they're essentially just two flimsy, thin flexi-discs sandwiched over a thin plastic disc and two pieces of paper. Coloured vinyl these days has slightly improved though, due to the dyes being better. I'd still go with black though.

JP do not possess that huge fanbase of an young maniacs as Maiden. That is simply true. But in UK, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Austria people loved it much more (in all countries Invincible Shield debuted at No. 1, Ok UK at No. 2 - highest chart position in their history)
Some folks say leaving the original shrink wrap will cause warpage over time. I haven't had issues but there are better bags out there for the rarer records

I find the plastic wrap on and he talking about putting it on again very absurd. Never seen any collector or vinyl enthusiast do that. I do collect the stickers, though, just tearing the plastic around it away - THAT I understand, but putting the shrink wrap on again? Not only is the PVC bad for you cover, but if it is too tight, it will bend your records in the long run. They could have invested in polyline inner sleeves for the records FOR their fans. I immediately put the records in mofi antistatic inner sleeves. I didn't need to clean these records, just gently wiped them with a cleaning brush. Fantastic job by Pallas this. Records flat as a pancake too.
I wish there were more videos of reviewing media for the artwork and packaging, it gives you a better idea if it's worth the money for the deluxe versions, love the media book cd, the priest album itself is fantastic.

I got the LP and the Deluxe CD version. I find the vinyl sounding better. I got quite amazed about it - since it is JP. Rob's vocal is more upfront on the vinyl. Must be the way vinyl record is mastered. Much more coherent sounding.
I only have standard, digipack edition without bonus tracks, but it's still great. I can already say that this is one of the best investments of this year and definitely one of the greatest releases of this year along with new Saxon 😊
Also, I like bonus tracks, but I would not spend more money on the album just to have those songs. They are ok, but at the same time they does not add anything interesting to this already complete album - either musically or thematically. Anyway, that's only my opinion😅

Nope. He got the purple one instead (the Spotify store edition). It probably has the same spine position for the logo as the blue one (to make up for the "Judas Priest" spine logo when stacked).

You're far more likely to damage the actual sleeve in the process of taking the plastic on & off again. Plus it just reduces the likelihood that you'll ever be bothered to play it.
Leaving the plastic on could eventually ruin the album and artwork. It’s something called degassing happens over a period of time that can totally destroy your treasures. Check it out bro I’m not bullshitting you. Anyway great vid as usual.
Correct. PVC oxidation. The gas may also go through the cardboard and inner sleeves, into the vinyl. PVC (vinyl) reacts with PVC (shrink-wrap) making the vinyl look foggy. Happened to many of my records from my childhood. Removed the awful PVC immediately. Luckily the sound was still good. The damage is not reversible.
I have all JP albums on vinyl, I got a ton of 7"s, bootlegs...I am only missing Live Meltdown '98 and I have to say - getting all 5 versions of Invincible Shield is a waste of money.
Same here, tons of Priest stuff here. In my case only missing Angel Of Retribution & Nostradamus on first vinyl edition. Got the '98 Live Meltdown vinyl since the day it came out, as a present. There's always something to collect and it's a curse actually 😂🤘
They all look awesome, I was super excited to grab it but when i saw the flipping $60CDN!!!! price for just the regular version on black vinyl...I was super pissed!! I grabbed the CD instead out of spite. I love the album but these prices are getting out of control...not just this one the new Megadeth was $67!!....like what's going on!!🤪😡
Metallica also. New coloured 2LPs, $65 each. New AC/DC special coloured Highway to Hell and Back In Black $65 each, the regular gold vinyl's at $45. Insane prices.
About the album length, I've (also) gotta disagree on the flow. For me, the Deluxe version (or encore version, as I call it) is the final, complete version. Viscous Circle and Lodger complete it for me, and I need to get to them to feel everything is wrapped up. For me, Crown of Horns ruins the flow & pacing of the album and I skip it every time now, and think Crown and Giants are both better as B-sides since they dont fit as well as the aforementioned. Fight of Your Life is a good song, but feels like a rock cover so I'm fine with it being left off. Lodger and Giants are both perfect closing tracks though, it's win/win regardless the version!
Me too. I think they are a part of the whole album, but they wouldn't go for a 3-LP set, because of economically reasons. Priest isn't as big financially as Maiden (who releases many 3-LP sets).
It is better that you remove the packaging plastic from the disc, if you leave the discs inside the original plastic you run the risk of being left without a disc since these covers are only designed for transport and with the heat they melt and could fuse with the cover and ruin the record, it is better that you remove them as soon as possible and buy protective plastic bags for vinyl. greetings from Spain 💖

Part of the problem with modern vinyl is record companies don't want to pay to have their albums mastered properly for vinyl. Nuclear Blast is one of the worst offenders.
It mostly concerns metal bands. Chris Bellman, though, often do master metal albums. They sound stellar, just how he mastered this Invincible Shield album. The vinyl of Invincible Shield actually sounds better than the CD version.
Shouldn't touch the vinyl grooves like that when you grab the vinyl's. Have you never learnt how to hold a vinyl with one hand, resting the fingers on the label and palm/thumb resting on the edge of the record? Also, never leave or put the shrink wrap back on. That PVC in the long run will ruin the cover. Use polythene outer sleeves instead. Invincible Shield is an incredible album, though, and the pink one is the most sexy of the vinyl records.

My alternative cover hype stickers says it comes with a 7 inch with 3 bonus tracks. But there was no 7 inch in the box hopefully the 7 inch is inside.

Crown of Horns doesn't ruin anything, it adds to the album flow. The whole thing is fantastic.

Hi... so I purchased a regular vinyl bundle first and recorded the video about it, and then the label has sent me all of those versions. I just left that part in for some weird reason haha sorry about the confusion

Part of the problem with modern vinyl is record companies don't want to pay to have their albums mastered properly for vinyl. Nuclear Blast is one of the worst offenders.
It mostly concerns metal bands. Chris Bellman, though, often do master metal albums. They sound stellar, just how he mastered this Invincible Shield album.
The vinyl of Invincible Shield actually sounds better than the CD version.
Shouldn't touch the vinyl grooves like that when you grab the vinyl's. Have you never learnt how to hold a vinyl with one hand, resting the fingers on the label and palm/thumb resting on the edge of the record? Also, never leave or put the shrink wrap back on. That PVC in the long run will ruin the cover. Use polythene outer sleeves instead.
Invincible Shield is an incredible album, though, and the pink one is the most sexy of the vinyl records.

При выходе Firepower, собрал все издания. У винила их 9. После этого сбора, собирать все цвета нового альбома, Не хочется, так как обложка альбома, с щитом, слабовата. Не вызывает желания скупать всё.
