If the soundtrack wasn´t this good, I think my patience would have run out completely on this level. It is almost encouraging.
Agreed! This music is so badass!
Emiliano Rodriguez it's a hope inspiring heroic tune encouraging you to try harder and that it's not impossible to beat! that's why I like it so much it sounds determined for you to succeed, at least in my opinion it does☺
honestly? This level wasn't that hard.
The level is like nintendo's version of a dark souls level.
But... but... this... isn't... nintendo??
This stage in a nutshell:
FREAKING FALLING
FREAKING AUTO-SCROLLING
FREAKING WIND
FREAKING SPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKES!!!
-FREAKING GREEN NINJAS
+RayZXook that as well
Complimented with great music, don't forget
+Will Hege yaYA!!!
better nerf green ninjas ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Such a beautiful theme for a dangerous level.
It's good that the song was so good, since the level was very literally fall-worthy.
I guess you could say it's to DIE for.
MarioSonic46 It seems the most treacherous levels usually have the most relaxing music. Take the bramble levels in DKC2
Michael Kemel Or Grape Garden from Kirby's Adventure.
Pickens Incorporated or basically every level in Super meat boy
I like how it sounds like propellers at the beginning. But seriously, if it weren't for the music I'd fricking hate this stage...
Cheesemonkey I hate most difficult games but for whatever reason I can't get enough of this game. Yatch Club did a fantastic job with this.
ikr
Absolutely
If it weren’t for the music I wouldn’t love this stage as much
So many people say they hate this stage. I honestly didn't find it that hard. Tower of Fate Act 2, on the other hand...
I like this track because it really has a sky vibe to it and fits the level nicely.
Yes, it does. when i listen to the OST, i find myself going back to this song a lot.
"Get down here you gyroscopic jaster!" Had me crying with laughter for a bit. Just played the game recently and yeah, it's a goodin'.
This level was a royal pain in the ass
+Zaky The part with the wind that pull you up, right or down was like a freackin' piano in my ass.
Zeldacrafter that was easy, the hard part is the one with the cannonballs and the propeller enemies at the same time, with the screen auto-scrolling
Shu Ouma God forbid playing this level with Plague Knight
Zack Egg tbh, for me the stage was harder with shovel, and the boss with plague
Shu Ouma Well I'm just plain bad with Plague Knight so I got *pretty* frustrated
Get down here, you gyroscopic jaster!
Best insult ever.
jester*
Thanks. Non-american.
Haha I roasted propellor knight 😂
This song is probably my favorite in the soundtrack.
The thing I really love about this tune is that it has a sense of adventure, but a sense of sadness to.
It feels more happy and carefree to me actually, which fits the tone of the propeller knight.
that i can sense, the song is a real mixed bag i suppose, lol...
The tracks starts with a melancholic feel to it but gets upbeat by the second half of each repetition
Pie Flavor
Yeah that sounds about right. Like I said, mixed bag.
Sense of adventure in this game is one of the things this game did extremely well. You're not driven by some NPC telling you to herd goats or catch chickens. You're driven by wanting to know what lies ahead, where you can go and what kind of treasures you'll get.
I think the campfire scenes (which can mostly be skipped) are also a good addition where during a daybreak you wake up, extinguish the fire and move on and you're like "Yeah! Let's continue with the adventure, shall we?"
The music really makes you appreciate the view being so high up above in the skies.
This song brings me back to the late 80's, early 90's when I watched cartoons like DuckTales and Turtles. When the outlook of the world was not as grim. When life was an adventure. Where no matter how dire and helpless the situation I knew it would always end with me soaring away high above the land towards the sunset.
Growing up is a terrible thing indeed.
:c
I wouldn't say that it is entirely subjective. The world of the late 80's and early 90's was a super hopeful world at least from the western perspective.
Now THIS is an air level done right!
Damn right
This theme is so fitting for the level. In fact, all the themes fit their levels very well. I don't know how do they make music fit the game so well and I would really like to know. Really a big thank to the developers of this game!
HARDEST FUCKING LEVEL IN THE GAME.
I ALMOST LOST ALL MY GOLD IN THAT LEVEL!
DUDE NEW GAME PLUS THIS STAGE IS DA FUCKIN' WORST.
Nah, Explodatorium is much worse!
Leo Elfors I never really had trouble with that one.
LordKraken3 Then it might just be me😕
I can see a megaman running through screens to this music
@@itsalwaysnugget Shovel Knight does seem to be somewhat inspired my Mega Man, too.
Shovel Knight: THIS FUCKING WIND WILL DRIVE ME MAD!
Plague Knight: This is easy as shit, lmao.
Cory Evans Talkin about the level itself. Propeller Knight's a bitch as Plague Knight, but it only takes a couple of anchors to kill him as Shovel Knight.
iTANKuUP what I didn't know you could do that, I died more times during the fight against him than the level itself
i thought specter knight was the easy one?non of these one easy,it a pain in the ass
Specter Knight: This is fine I guess.
Probably one of the best songs in the game. This feels more cohesive and consistent unlike its boss theme which feels a bit too chaotic with this theme forced in.
I always thought Propeller Knight's theme comes off as dastardly in the moustache-twirling and "En garde!" sense. Plus how he overdramatizes his defeat with the tears streaming from his helmet as well as his knocked-out rose.
I just really don't like the first ten seconds. The choppyness sounds more like a glitch than anything else.
Evilknightz it's done that way purposely to give it a unique feel... it makes me think of what musical helicopter blades would sound like... which makes it sound like the song itself is soaring through the air.
Nedoxu . Took the words right out of my mouth there!
If I weren't dead broke I would absolutely send money Kaufman's way to keep doing what he does. He was part of something really, really cool.
If Shovel Knight reigns victorious in the poll and they give him a stage, I'd like this song to get in. Don't care if it's original or remix, I just wanna see Shovel Knight and Pac-Man duke it out to this song.
luigi580 He's gotta win the poll.
***** As I said, "If he reigns victorious the poll." Admittedly, It's not very likely considering he still isn't in Japan yet.
luigi580 Well last I heard, the few fan polls on the subject were dominated by him.
***** True, but remember that he's not available worldwide yet, most notably in Japan, meaning he's going to have basically zero votes there, while close competitors like King K. Rool are getting plenty of support. I'm not saying that Shovel Knight's addition is impossible, (heck, he'd be a perfect indie game representation), but the fact that his game isn't out worldwide yet will cost him horrendously.
luigi580 Not gonna deny that, guess I'm just a bit over optimistic.
Why would anyone dislike this? Seriously...
+Bamboo Gamer I disliked it because it seems to bother you.
@101494650804559093229 Ok thanks. I guess...
Bamboo Gamer You're welcome.
+Bamboo Gamer they must be members of the order of no quarter
+Bamboo Gamer They view the world upside-down... they just didn't know better
This song is uplifting enough to keep you going through such a hard level. It's amazing.
As much as I fucking HATED this level, this masterpiece of a song results in me still feeling fond towards it
Absolute fantastic best song in the game 11/10
the triangle track in this song is insane. Seriously listen to it. It so gracefully dips between a bass and melodic role; Jake is a master with it.
I'm telling you, industrial and aerial levels always have the catchiest music, and this banger is both at once
Clockwork tower?? (Yeah I'm such a cool guy responding after 3 years)
@@FrogiceG good point
I do happen to enjoy "of devious machinations" a lot more three years later
Propeller Knight, his stage, and the stage music are awesome. Propeller Knight is my personal favorite knight. The stage is beautiful, though.
Yes!
MINE TOO
Mole Knight
Propeller Knight is your favorite? Then why are you Mole Knight?
Also, I couldn’t beat Propeller Knight without Ichor. Good job picking the toughest knight.
I personally like Plague Knight, especially playing as him.
Good music, HARD LEVEL
Never in my life I questioned to myself:
"Why you give me an extendable life if I die in ONE hit falling?"
i cant get over how amazing this is and is definitely in my top 10 list of best shovel knight songs. my favorite bieng fight with all our might
**Sprinting Theme IRL**
Difficult yet not too punishing level, beautiful design, fun boss, great theme: Perfection.
Dont forget the wonderful music
17 gyroscopic jesters disliked this.
Love the mix of blowing winds and propeller sounds in the song to really fit the stage.
That fucking wind section 😭😫
This one really makes me CRY and wanna be child again ... I donno but it sounds full of hope.
It does sound nostalgic. Of course, this game wasn't out when I was a kid, but the music does have a nostalgic feel like something I would hear in Pokemon Crystal or one of the Kirby games on the Gameboy.
Shovel knight is the only videogame where a sky level is much more frustrating than a water level
This song gets me so pumped. I always look forward to this level just because of the song.
That intro is just too perfect~
Find myself replaying it 10 or so times every time I come back to this song. LOL
This song is Perfect!
A grand airship, once the pinnacle of luxury transportation.
Bard: I penned this track in a mere 3 hours, in front of a live audience! How?
We can all thank this awesome song for keeping or sanity in tact while we died time after time.
To think of this beautiful theme as a reward for playing this hellish stage.
This makes me happy inside.
Favorite tune in the game. Fucking great.
It feels amazing to be good at platformers. Beating this stage without dying is the most satisfying thing ever.
The arranged version by Manami Matsumae is great. The opening to that track is a delight.
You must be swift and precise. Like an aeroplane.
the level can be hard as balls, but...... God dammit, I fucking love the music for it, it's magical of the most wonderful kind! it's like you can imagine yourself flying thru the air with this music, 10 of out fucking 10!
This is definitely the best track of this game.
But all the other one's are too.
Thank you, Virt.
I am surprised on how much i enjoyed the stage after reading the comments, maybe i just like these type of levels)
just recently replayed shovel knight after not playing it for so long so i remember how awesome this stage theme was once i got to the flying machine stage.
Simetimes it sounds like crazy keyboard hitting, good for this level
The first time was such a pain but in the second run you beat it without dying...
Lyrics : I've seen everything under the clouds, but I'll be fine when I will see you smile ! Returning to the Heaven take my hand, being with you here is all I demand ... Remembering all your fears your tears your cries, face it now your home the starry sky ! Deploy your wings so we can rejoice now, our Father is waiting for you !
High hopes have been put in human kind, but they've failed, there's no love , there's no bound ! We love you, we believe it's true ! Yes we'll destroy evil soon ! Pray and have faith in me, we'll find the worthy and I'll take back my glory ! Take command, justice will prevail, because we'll rule this world !
This level and Tower of Fate - Approach were/are the hardest levels in this game.
When I buy the soundtrack, I will definitely pay a good couple of bucks, since I love this OST that much. But I'm just wondering...
On Bandcamp, when they say you can buy something for whatever price you want, can you choose not to pay anything at all?
Yes. Mr. Kaufman is kind enough to share his music, regardless of whether you give a donation or not.
Type 0 in the amount box and remember to support him when you can!
Jjjj but afaik this song and the treasure knight song are not made by kaufman, but by the man behind mega man 1 soundtrack...
LordBhorak oops... my mistake. It was treasure and plague, not this one. And the name of the composer was Manami Matsumae
LordBhorak Minami Matsumae is a woman.
I never even played the game, but I'm in love with the soundtrack already.
Dammit..
And you played it already?
I kept dying in this level and wanted to quit. But the song was really encouraging. Not to mention the air movement part near the end. It felt like the game was politely telling me to breathe before proceeding. It knew I was frustrated with those damn flying propeller dudes and the Boss's rapid movements...
1:29 Always brings a smile to face.
Why is this game so awesome?!
It's a good thing the music is so uplifting and encouraging, or I would have given up long ago.
I can hear the WIND SOUND in my head
The whole OST is amazing. Thanks for uploading. :)
This music was the only reason I kept playing this damnable stage.
this stage made me angry but the track was great
Agreed
this song is fucking fantastic!
I don't know why but just got Mario Tennis(GBC) flashbacks...I could play a game of tennis to this!
Probably my favorite game of last year. Probably going into my top 20 games of all time somewhere. I should organize that list... but dang these Shovel Knight tunes are so good.
the level was hard but DAMN was this music so upbeat!
"Get down here and face me, you gyroscopic jester!" :DDDDDDD
Beautiful
Somehow, this song evokes an intense feeling of nostalgia.
this song made this level all worth it
This theme fits most because of the propeller-like sounds in it, especially in the beginning.
this is by far the best theme in shovel knight (yet)
Shovel Fort - The Sky's The Limit!
Just beautiful...
I like that the beginning are propeller sounds.
My favorite level in the game so far(I just got it today) so fun and this theme kick's ass!
This is what I was looking for - the theme used in the trailer 2 starts at 0:37
the level is a nightmare, but is still beautiful as his song
This level is a FUCKING HELL when you are trying to get the 0 death achievement
This is the best song in the soundtrack.
It' has a good 'old day's felling, i can almost fell my old NES controller on my hands
Beautiful music... the stage... Yeah its so hard...
when you complete The Flying Machine on New Game + you got nothing to fear in the whole game :D
This has to tie with Courage Under Fire for my favorite song in this soundtrack. Seriously, so *so* good.
Shovel Knight: *montage of falling while screams of agony play in the background*
Plague Knight: *Buys the float burst and gets the Vat* Hee hee hee! You're the one who's gonna fall here, Propeller Knight!
This is my favorite song of SK
second best soundtrack from game and second best relic from game. Right behind phase locket and strike the earth.
It was upon hearing this song that I realized...we need a shovel knight anime. Not a long one. Just one that goes through the events of the game, but with a little more character.
I wasn't mad at all the times I died here because of this song.
The best level
What a track!!
I was so pissed off with this level I couldn't even enjoy this song!
Reminds me of Tower of Heaven.
it does have a lot of that feel huh?
listen at 0.5 speed, still sounds pretty good.
I swear to God, if I see another goddamn green propeller ninja imma-
*GET OVER HERE AND FIGHT ME LIKE A KNIGHT!*
hardest level af
why is it right after King Knight on the Soundtrack? King Knight is either 1st or 2nd stage, this guy's 6th, 7th or 8th.
3 reasons Bowser could learn a thing or three from propeller knight:
1: propeller Knights propeller helmet is WAY More convenient than bowsers clown cart.
2: propeller plays it Smart: he just waits for you to come to his ship, and when you are there, your Life is a Living Hell. (aside from the music). Bowser tries everything in his Power to force you to his lair, and his levels are pretty Easy. (Just counting the nsmb series)
3: propeller Knights airship doesn't Break after you beat him. Bowser just has to build another one everytime.
if Bowser could Have Read this, the Mario franchise probably would become a LOT harder.
