If you think about it, it does make sense. The tower of fate existed before shield knight became the enchantress, and it stood just fine. So it would make sense that it could survive without her. Just really good timing on Shovel and Plague's part getting their adventures wrapped up in the same place.

What's really interesting about the king knight ending is that in addition to revealing him as an ass to the people who helped him along the way, he was also an ass to the enchantress after she literally gave him the power to reign over King Pridemoor's domain. Like the Enchantress had to send specter knight AGAIN into pridemoor keep just to get him back in line. This is an interesting element when discussing why King Knight is one of the most hated characters from a personality standpoint.
He has severe commitment issues. His will is there, but he has no real sense of responsibility. If he had those he could literally just conquer the valley the traditional way and clap Enchantress back into Shield Knight along the way. Because when he is in shape he is an Herculean beast.

Since Shovel of Hope and Plague of Shadows take place at the same time (and it's been confirmed that Plague Knight is not a reliable narrator) most of the ending scenes might have been fabricated to more fit with how Plague Knight would tell the story (him being knighted by King Pridemoor, taking the money from Treasure Knight, other than that though, everything seems relatively possible. Tinker Knight helping them with the lifts, Propeller Knight being a wing man, Mole Knight assisting with a bit of research [the outcome could favor him as they create more Shovel Knight Slimes, and he's about digging], and of course: Specter wanting to kill him.)

that's just his character tbh, he'll do what it takes to achieve his goals but if there's a way to do it that takes less effort he will absolutely go for that(fighting joustus judges takes less time and effort than beating them in actual joustus, the enchantress can make him king immediately whereas in order to become prince of pridemoor keep he'd have to accept king pridemoor as his mentor/father figure)
I just realized in King Knights ending King Pridemoor said (You wouldn't leave us here to hang would you?) Then in Shovel Knights King Knight was in the same situation and said the same thing, he's such a pric. I still love him as a character though. X)
i think specter and king’s endings really do make shovel knight’s tagline of “shovel of hope” more hopeful since he was the one who basically stopped and fixed all this mess despite being absent for all of it. hes the hope the kingdom needed.
I think the best way to handle this is to either for polar Knight's tale of the past while he fights together with shovel knight or him setting things right after the enchantress fell, going by himself to free some lands from their own evil

Plague night dancing with Mona makes me cry, and it also gives me a warm smile. So whatever what happens, I always come back to shovel knight and think that I may have my plague knight time 😂 it gives me hope honestly 😂😂😂

King Knight was a "hero" who hid a thirst for power and sought to rule by the easiest method, which led him to become a villain when the Enchantress gave him that hand up. Plague Knight was a "villain" with an open thirst for power hiding his intent to do so to prove his love for Mona, which led him to become a hero when Mona shared her love for him. Both got their endings by leaving their quest in a way. King Knight earned the scorn and hatred that swept into his wake by betraying all of his allies for the Enchantress' rise to power. Plague Knight earned the fame and love that swept into his wake by abandoning the Ultimate Potion he'd just made on Mona's off-hand suggestion.

Some notes: -Even though Plague of Shadows may be an alternate take on Shovel of Hope it does still explain how Chester got his hands on the relics. I put it after Shovel of Hope mostly because of the "battle rages on" line. -Some of the events in Specter of Torment and King of Cards take place at the same time and it gets pretty confusing, specifically Cooper and Propeller's story, here's what I believe happened: 1.Cooper and Propeller are BFFs. I assume its because of their common interest in airships. 2.Specter recruits Propeller. 3.Propeller launches his fleet across the land and gives Cooper a small airship that he keeps inside the Glidewing. 4.Cooper tosses Propeller a Rose. Propeller keeps this rose on him at all times, dropping it when he's defeated, and becoming furious when King steals it. 5.King finishes his quest, betraying his crew. 6.Propeller raids the Glidewing and steals it at the Enchantress' Orders, injuring Cooper in the process. 7.The crew recover at King's house. 8.Cooper now walks around with a cane, as an "Airship Enthusiast".
I like to think that the rose situations happen like: 1. King steals it (gameplay) 2. Propeller Knight comes back for the rose (intro of KoC ending) 3. Cooper searching for the rose in King Knight house (homestead: caring for the betrayed) 4. Cooper giving the rose back (flying machine: the fleet takes flight) Some fine detail that connect KoC and SoT are: After the event of KoC Specter Knight has only recruited 3 order knight mole knight, tinker knight and polar knight as we see on the background of (tower of fate: the hunt continues)

But it still is nothing but a possibility because in the KoC ending when it shows tower of fate, the explodatorium still hasn't lit up yet and Plague Knight's dialogue in SoT didn't really help in this situation. Well maybe King Knight/ Enchantress hire him just for exploding the cards, and later hire him as a member after seeing his abilities.
@@am_AZE_d Well Specter of Torment does reference the Potionarium twice (first in dialogue from a Plague Minion after Plague Knight is recruited) so it has most likely been built by then but the Decanter (that holds the essences) doesn't get installed there until the end of Specter of Torment. It shows up at the background of the Percy and Plague Knight boss in King of Cards so it most likely was built in the Explodatorium and taken to the Potionarium later

yah plague knight was in the background the whole time. the point where shovel and plague knight crosses over happens at precisely the same time, and it's assumed win or lose plague knight got shovel knights essence, shovel knight gets to continue on his way to save shield knight, and both sides got what they wanted win or lose.
Technically, spectre knight's ending isn't really bad, its more of a tragic and heroic ending. (With the heroic part being that spectre sacrificed his chance at humanity to save reize.

So Tinker, Polar and Mole are just upstanding guys before and after the story and we’re only bad via control of the enchantress, they all just help others after the enchantress is defeated Treasure gets most of the gold taken by the townsfolk and then plague knights crew take the following scraps I like how after the party propeller throws he stages a table and hosts as a waiter on plague and Mona’s date Specter knows Black from previous work Black was close friends with Polar Shovel and Shield before falling a falling out of rivalry and love triangle with shovel, to which polar probably felt super awkward about and left on his own after maybe being a third wheel to shovel and shield? Shovel and shield finally have each other in the end and plague and Mona move to the town from the exploditorium which plague left to Percy. And king finally gets what he deserves for being a egomaniac and betraying his friends and family Alls well that ends well
I'm pretty sure that Black knight, Shovel Knight, and Polar Knight are friends because they all use a varient of the Shovel blade. Polar knight and Shovel knight go back into the past, but from some lines in KoC, Polar knight has been traveling, and only recently settled in the Stranded Ship
I mean it's arguable about Tinker Knight being an upstanding guy since according to the Specter of Torment ending we see him automating the creation of clockwork rats and clockwork mages, both of which show up in his levels prior to his recruitment. When I see someone throwing sentient beings into an industrial machine to refit their powers to their need it sounds like, I dunno, a bad person.
Something I noticed after reading this comment is that in KoC, Plague knight uses his original design in the boss, but in the ending, the redesign. So I say it’s Mona. I don’t mind though, I prefer the redesign. And also apparently the same thing in SoT WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA.

In Plague of Shadows, you can find his room and the closet he keeps his masks in. You'll see a few including the one he's wearing in his campaign and one closer to his boss design. So the implication is his redesign is a look he puts on to appear more intimidating.
Some speculate that Plague Knight wore a specific suit in Shovel of Hope to make himself taller, and during his own story, he was his "normal" size. Plus during the shadow fight in the Tower of Fate. We can see that you're fighting that taller version, perhaps a story of Plague Knight coming to terms with himself.

Trash Man Productions. You just made the game much more interesting and fun. And I have several things to say l. 1. King Of cards takes place before specter of torment. 2. All four knights deal with the enchantress and have different Final bosses. 3. Because of the store lines if you want to play the game in chronological order, as the title and thumbnail of your video states first king of cards, second specter of torment, third plague of shadows, and the fourth and final story that we both choose to play is Shovel Of Hope, because the enchantress is defeated in the end.
honestly I'd say all of them could probably carry a game on their own pretty sure that was the whole deal behind the Dig the Vote thing. any of them could've won and gotten an entire campaign to themselves, it just happened that the 3 that did did (Specter Knight came 1st, then Plague Knight, then King Knight in 3rd). all the of members of the Order of No Quarter (including the Enchantress) and Black Knight were options for the vote. personally I'm happy that Specter Knight and Plague Knight won, but personally for 3rd place I'd have picked Tinker Knight, Mole Knight, or Black Knight... King Knight would've probably been last place for me.
In Shovel Knight Showdown, we see that Black Knight and Polar Knight are friends. So when Specter Knight drops Terrorpin off the tower, Polar Knight would have taken care of him, but maybe the damages were too large and he couldn’t save him, hence why Terrorpin is only in the prequels (my theory at least)
I think its just they had to make compromises in a few areas to make it as understandable as possible. But from what I gethered, is starts with king being a dick, betraying everyone, and being crowned whilst also recruited. Then, Specter is on this quest to recruit everyone else, whilst also whipping king back into shape. Plague Knight's story (despite being the last ending shown in this vid) takes place just a tiny bit before Shovel Knight's. He's the one who gives relics to Chester, arrived at the village before him, and then defeats the Enchantress before Shovel Knight.
The developers said that Plague Knight is an unreliable narrator, so while the most important plot points did happen, the fine details (like Shovel Knight acting like a jerk and having items he shouldn't) are unlikely to be the real case
the campaign characters were actually decided by a poll from the original kickstarter so we all knew who was getting campaigns before the first one even came out lol. Essentially, yes, they did do exactly that

Yeah, Spectre Knights story technically starts first, but King Knight's ends first. After getting King Knight's ending, Spectre Knight still has to get the rest of the knights into the order of no quarter.
I think the answer the team provided was that discrepancies are caused by the nature of alternate narrators giving different accounts of the same events. That's why Tinker suddenly breaks character and starts talking all verbose when you save him in SoH, because that event wasn't supported by Plague Knight's account of the event.

But that bit where they were just moved the potionarium stuff after SoT, really make this confusing (and I cant believe I forgot that part). Technically, spectre knight's ending isn't really bad, its more of a tragic and heroic ending. (With the heroic part being that spectre sacrificed his chance at humanity to save reize.

shovel and plague were each off doing their own quest for their own reasons, specter was the only one who really didn't have a choice in what happened and was still almost altruistic in the end which is what makes him so likable i think
So Tinker, Polar and Mole are just upstanding guys before and after the story and we’re only bad via control of the enchantress, they all just help others after the enchantress is defeated
Treasure gets most of the gold taken by the townsfolk and then plague knights crew take the following scraps

Specter knows Black from previous work
Black was close friends with Polar Shovel and Shield before falling a falling out of rivalry and love triangle with shovel, to which polar probably felt super awkward about and left on his own after maybe being a third wheel to shovel and shield?
Shovel and shield finally have each other in the end and plague and Mona move to the town from the exploditorium which plague left to Percy.
And king finally gets what he deserves for being a egomaniac and betraying his friends and family

I'm pretty sure that Black knight, Shovel Knight, and Polar Knight are friends because they all use a varient of the Shovel blade. Polar knight and Shovel knight go back into the past, but from some lines in KoC, Polar knight has been traveling, and only recently settled in the Stranded Ship
I mean it's arguable about Tinker Knight being an upstanding guy since according to the Specter of Torment ending we see him automating the creation of clockwork rats and clockwork mages, both of which show up in his levels prior to his recruitment. When I see someone throwing sentient beings into an industrial machine to refit their powers to their need it sounds like, I dunno, a bad person.

Something I noticed after reading this comment is that in KoC, Plague knight uses his original design in the boss, but in the ending, the redesign. So I say it’s Mona. I don’t mind though, I prefer the redesign.

while the redesign represents what people that actually know him see, a dweeb that likes blowing stuff up.
In Plague of Shadows, you can find his room and the closet he keeps his masks in. You'll see a few including the one he's wearing in his campaign and one closer to his boss design. So the implication is his redesign is a look he puts on to appear more intimidating.
Some speculate that Plague Knight wore a specific suit in Shovel of Hope to make himself taller, and during his own story, he was his "normal" size. Plus during the shadow fight in the Tower of Fate. We can see that you're fighting that taller version, perhaps a story of Plague Knight coming to terms with himself.

And I have several things to say l.
1. King Of cards takes place before specter of torment.
2. All four knights deal with the enchantress and have different Final bosses.
3. Because of the store lines if you want to play the game in chronological order, as the title and thumbnail of your video states first king of cards, second specter of torment, third plague of shadows, and the fourth and final story that we both choose to play is Shovel Of Hope, because the enchantress is defeated in the end.

honestly I'd say all of them could probably carry a game on their own
pretty sure that was the whole deal behind the Dig the Vote thing. any of them could've won and gotten an entire campaign to themselves, it just happened that the 3 that did did (Specter Knight came 1st, then Plague Knight, then King Knight in 3rd). all the of members of the Order of No Quarter (including the Enchantress) and Black Knight were options for the vote.
personally I'm happy that Specter Knight and Plague Knight won, but personally for 3rd place I'd have picked Tinker Knight, Mole Knight, or Black Knight... King Knight would've probably been last place for me.

In Shovel Knight Showdown, we see that Black Knight and Polar Knight are friends. So when Specter Knight drops Terrorpin off the tower, Polar Knight would have taken care of him, but maybe the damages were too large and he couldn’t save him, hence why Terrorpin is only in the prequels (my theory at least)

I think its just they had to make compromises in a few areas to make it as understandable as possible.
But from what I gethered, is starts with king being a dick, betraying everyone, and being crowned whilst also recruited.
Then, Specter is on this quest to recruit everyone else, whilst also whipping king back into shape.
Plague Knight's story (despite being the last ending shown in this vid) takes place just a tiny bit before Shovel Knight's. He's the one who gives relics to Chester, arrived at the village before him, and then defeats the Enchantress before Shovel Knight.
Plague knight always confused me the events are slightly different from shovel knight despite taking place at the same time
The developers said that Plague Knight is an unreliable narrator, so while the most important plot points did happen, the fine details (like Shovel Knight acting like a jerk and having items he shouldn't) are unlikely to be the real case

the campaign characters were actually decided by a poll from the original kickstarter so we all knew who was getting campaigns before the first one even came out lol. Essentially, yes, they did do exactly that

I think the answer the team provided was that discrepancies are caused by the nature of alternate narrators giving different accounts of the same events. That's why Tinker suddenly breaks character and starts talking all verbose when you save him in SoH, because that event wasn't supported by Plague Knight's account of the event.
