    I made this tonight with a few alterations because I'm a skint uni student and only had the money to buy a few of the ingredients. That meant substituting stuff in from other recipes I was making this week or using things I already had in the cupboard. I didn't add the wine or the balsalmic vinegar and forgot peas so instead I roasted of a red pepper (left over from a stir fry earlier in the week) diced it and added it to the sauce for flavour along with a small glug of Worcestershire sauce and a teaspoon of red pesto. Instead of peas I used some shredded red cabbage also left over from the stir fry. This turned out absolutely delicious and I'm definitely going to add it into the rotation of dishes I know I can make well and relatively cheaply. And the best part is that there is more than enough left over for tomorrow as well.

    This looks so good, and perfect for making a few portions at once and freezing!
    My 20 minute meal (which I've done in the past when I'm too impatient to wait for the oven to heat up to do fish fingers and potato wedges!) is a really simple curry. I start by sweating some red onion, then adding curry powder, ground ginger, smoky paprika, and garlic purée. And if I'm using meat, it generally goes in here - otherwise cubes of potato and carrot are added at this point too. After ten minutes or so, I add a can of chopped tomatoes, and start cooking the rice in a separate pan. Best served with a dollop of yoghurt.

    My go to fast-but-nice meal is a skillet pasta. Cooked pappardelle (I start from dry, and prep everything else while it's boiling), bell peppers (I used roasted out of a jar), spinach, and feta cheese (I use cubed, in brine) in a skillet and tossed around until the spinach wilts and the cheese melts. Top with shaved parmesan. If you have anything else on hand that you feel like throwing in your pasta, that works too.

    I’ve just discovered your TH-cam channel. Couple of questions. English to American.
    1. Are Broad beans the same as Lima beans and butter beans? And is that the same as Fava beans?
    2. Field mushrooms are what’s we call Portabella mushrooms? And here we call the young, small Portabellas are crimini mushrooms or baby Bella’s.
    3. To us Coriander is the seed. Cilantro is the fresh leaf. But I can follow what you mean when you say “fresh coriander”.
    4. Just a question about onions. Size? You’ll say one onion and I have never seen a dry onion (red or yellow) that small. Maybe you can add clarification as to the amount. Like, 1/2 cup diced? 1/4 cup? 2 cup?
    I love your shows. They are so much fun! 😊😊😊😊

    I think it's important to point out that the chorizo you're using is Spanish-style chorizo. Here in California, it's hard to find anything other than Mexican-style chorizo which is wildly different (the main difference being that it is raw instead of cured).

    • @jennhoff03
      @jennhoff03 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I just figured that out after butchering 2 different dishes that call for chorizo here in Houston.

    It's a little over 20 minutes with prep time but super easy. Stuff a chicken breast with goat cheese and spinach then sear to get colour. Chop onion, peppers and mushroom and slightly sauté. Add chicken, 3/4 can of beer and veg to a casserole dish and bake for 20 minutes at 400F. Any left over spinach added with veg make for a nice warm salad and the chicken is super juicy.

      If you worry about the alcohol, you have nothing to worry about, because it is cooked, the alcohol is evaporating in the air so no more alcohol:)

      Farhana Aktar grape juice and/or redwine vinegar and some water/ stock

    • @missfun3
      @missfun3 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ayob Aleko Grape juice would be a bad option since it contains alot of sugar and red wine without the alcohol does not taste like grape juice... The redwine vinegar with some water is a great option though.

    • @VamLoveAndKisses
      @VamLoveAndKisses 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As Coraline Duval says, the alcohol will evaporate as it cooks. But you could try about 100ml of water, 50ml of tomato juice (fresh or tinned), and a shot of red wine vinegar (it's non alcoholic, don't worry).

    • @123ayob
