    I enjoyed your video with the sound of the sea. I am missing the sounds of the waves and ocean with not being able to leave the house xx

      We too miss the sound of the sea. One of the first things we are doing once we can actually venture out is goto the sea front for some fish and chips. I also want to fly my drone to get some more shots. Also working on a surprise to be able to get some better recordings on the sea and footage of the waves. John K @ Raw Ability Life

    How lovely to see you both, you certainty look in a better place than we last saw you. Look forward to hearing about your journey from then to now. I bet it will be some story. This madness we are going through at the moment must be more difficult for you than most due to your conditions. I do think lockdown has highlighted the struggles that some couples have to cope with on a daily basis. Take care and keep safe. Best regards. Jane x

      We do feel better then we have in the past. Our journey has felt like a rollercoaster but then again our life always feels like a rollercoaster hehe. The biggest problem we had was getting enough milk delivered due to Stacey's swallowing difficulties. I think this lockdown has shown people what is like for people that are stuck in under conditions when Covid wasn't around. Sadly I don't think they will connect it though. Hope you are safe. Good to see your now in a better place in regards to care. I can’t imagine how tough it is to be in shielding. Janice has been told by her employer to stay at home(paid) as she is more at risk health wise and I’m currently on furlough due to lack of work.
    I have mainly been staying in but have ventured out occasionally to get our shopping for ourselves and our older neighbour and doing some garden work for our flat.
    Milkmen are a great way to get milk. We have used ours for quite some time. And it was a god send the two weeks I had to self isolate in March we was able to get a few basics on top of the milk.

      It is somewhat hard to explain what its like being in shielding. I can say its difficult not being able to go out and do our own shopping relying on making sure I get the order correct and the hope the items are actually available when they go to pick the order. The milkman does make it easier as it guarantees a certain amount of milk coming into the flat every couple of days. My "venturing out" is going out to the bin store and back taking all of a minute to make sure its clear before getting gloves on and going outside and bringing the rubbish out. It figures we get the care in place and then covid hits, taking all this time waiting to get it, get approved and now having to wait. Glad to hear you are both doing good. John K @ Raw Ability Life

    It took us a long time to get priority delivery slots sorted too. It's crazy you had to fight to be on the shielding list. Another good video. ❤️❤️

    • @RawAbilityLife
      @RawAbilityLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad I don't have to wait until stupid time at night to get the slots. I had no problem doing it just made me tired which had no point of the night care if I was getting tired. Luckily don't have that problem anymore. The shielding list have some very strange criteria in my opinion that not all of it makes sense. Sadly we are not officially on the list despite all of the doctors saying Stacey should be on the list. Glad to hear you liked the video. John K @ Raw Ability Life

    Might sound like. Weird crazy question but do you think any of these routines you will keep after COVID? So we are obviously not super vulnerable in my house but we were struggling with supermarkets with keeping our distance from others because spprently it’s not logic to move out the way of a blind person and also, it’s hard to see where things ar3 and what things are without picking everything up and I don’t want to do that. Plus social distance guiding.... mmm... 😂😂 queues r also interesting ... after fighting for it we are final,y on priority list for Tesco 👌😁🥰

      Glad to hear you are finally on the priority list for Tesco. We are making sure to save the points up for christmas which we do every year. Not sure if there are any routines we may keep or not. We are planning on keeping things such as the milk delivery going after this is all over. John K @ Raw Ability Life

    Shielding and self isolation is completely two different things entirely those that are on end of life Palative care, receiving active treatment for Cancers, Blood disorders and Autoimmune disorders my mild SLE (Lupus for short)doesn't count as I'm not on treatment for it, at sever risk first time expectant mothers, transplant recipients and those with brittle life threatning Asthma and or COPD again despite being on inhalers and have frequent chest infections and Bronchitis had 6 bouts since Christmas 2 were definite full blown chest infection due to greedy selfish sods not only are they happy to clear supermarket shelf's and delivery slots trying get a delivery slot is absolute hell on earth despite being on there system as very severely Disabled they also stock pile drugs at the Pharmacy I had to go without my brown inhaler for 5days left me extremely very very winded and extremely breathless wasn't very nice I can tell you.
    Anyway I was told to go on shielding list its similar very very strict rules and criteria as England just slightly different in other places if you don't have the medical conditions listed on there your classed as self isolating and very valnerble and don't qualify for the emergency Government's food parcel I find them very poorly thought out most of it be no good what so ever to me incluiding toiletries due to allergies to Aspirin and its same thing called Salyciate Acid which is in absolutely everything toiletries, hand wash etc also as everything is microwaved if teatime carer here has time but due to Plague my teatime visits cancelled temporary instead morning carer makes me up salad or sandwiches leaves them in fridge for supper time due to my frequent constant regular Idiopathic Seizures and very sever Fibromyalgia I'm bed bound since my mum and nan died I no longer get 24/7 care its not even remotely feasible anyway. If you have decent proper freezer then see if Wiltshire Farm Foods delivers to you they sell the most yummy delicious pureed apple and cinnamon porridge do plain pureed porridge as well at £1.55 each very expensive but worth it 6minuets half power on 900watt microwave like Oakhouse another frozen ready meals, desserts etc Oakhouse does grocery items as well but be warned they charge extortionate amounts. Both do various stages of pureed, fork mashable and soft bites there to me absolutely vile and disgusting don't remember my mum and nan doing there's to taste so horrible they added loads gravy and custard depending what was made I don't have swallowing issues as such its more to do with my sever Fibromyalgia, Seizures,sever Migraines all 3 seriously mess with my memory and cognitive functions I just quiet simple forget how to swallow, what I'm doing, what day it is etc etc end up just about choking myself in process due to amount Seizures I take being on my own its incredibly dangerous to be left with full proper meal to save my energy, pain and exhaution levels I go the easy option of straight down gullet I've took craving for pureed fruit pouches aimed at toddlers and babies but there's absolutely nothing in them to suggest its for them except calories to me its nice refreshing snack as they can also be frozen if you Google it or ask around you will hear loads office workers etc take them to work so handy to have on the go. Any way I've yapped enough my wrist, fingers and hand is starting cramp up take care if you have garden go sit outside its what I do if I feel well enough and strong enough to being in my wheelchair get some bird food watch them having ball I photographs them wen your cat is brushed put his fur in bush or tree in your garden birdies take for nesting material you can even get window feeder that has suction cups that go on window if on ground floor then bird feeding station can be deliberately placed near cool area depending if your windows are low like mine. Also bulk buy bread, milk and butter freeze it diet and low fat etc don't freeze very well lasts about 4 to 6weeks depending what you put in freezer
