I'm a disabled Viet. vet who served "in country" during the Tet Offensive. After which I volunteered to relieve our troops sent to S. Korea in response to the hijacking of the USS Pueblo, happened just before Tet. After the fall of Saigon, I felt guilty for abandoning the Viet. people. That said, I moved from my home state of Texas (5th Gen. going back to 1854) to the mountains of Idaho north of Boise. I moved because of all the migrating Yankees from the collapse of the "rust belt". I love it here but wish that they would pass a law that new residents must leave their 'baggage" at the state line. If I would bring any change with me it would be how long the state legislature can be in session. In Texas we only allow our legislature to meet for 140 days every other yr. If they aren't in session, they have to have a job & they can't pass stupid laws! I'm glad to see 3 ex-Californians who love Idaho for Idaho. I lived in So. Cal. (Costa Mesa) for about 10 yrs. Welcome Tru'c!
Hey "cousin" Truc! I'm looking to move to Idaho too. Legal Immigrant from Vietnam here too. I escaped Vietnam to Cambodia. Then Spent 2.5 years in refugee camps in Thailand and Philippines before having a sponsor to emigrate to the USA in the 80s. Now a proud US citizen!

I like Real Life Ministries church. I do online with the Post Falls campus. As for food, one of my favorite places is open once again and that is The Oval Office in Post Falls. Same people also have the White House Grill in Post Falls and the Pentagon in Liberty Lake, WA. If you happen to like garlic, then the White House Grill is the place to go. Wonderful Mediterranean cuisine.
The defining principle of "Good" is "That which promotes (or maximally promotes) the growth of consciousness". If laws are to be good they must adhere to this principle. That said, in the context of the soda question - does banning soda do more to harm to the growth of consciousness or does it promote the growth of consciousness? The answer will tell you whether or not a law banning it is good or bad. Violating liberty is inherently bad. However, addiction itself is a violation of ones own liberty and predictably leads to the violation of others liberty. This is where conservatives get the intuitive phrase "Liberty with responsibility". It is not an exact expression but the intuition is in the correct direction. To ban soda you must violate some liberty as is the nature of law. However, does soda consumption itself violate liberty and doe soda consumption hinder/damage the growth of consciousness? That is the argument for more traditional/addictive drugs and why laws banning them can be considered good. The bad they generate is worse than the bad associated with enforcing a ban via law. Very utilitarian in all.. However, that is the reality of government.
A glaring difference exists between native Idahoans and newer residents... Generational residents learned and lived how certain groups of people were persecuted and biased against. During the 1940's and 50's thousands of people of pacific origin living in north Idaho were rounded up and sent to internment camps in Kooski and Minidoka. We grew up with families whose grandparents experienced that. Native Americans lost most of their historical lands.
@TheDillio187 Of course I did and Gavin Newsome keeps implementing more crazy polotics and pushing more California's here and they think they should come here and try to run stuff. Eagle ID is a great example. What do the locals say there?
My wife has spent 3 weeks total in USA.... will watch this one. We are interested in the area.
It should answer some question you (and she) might have. Thanks!
My brothers wife is from China. No problems at all in Sagle Sandpoint area.
CdA is expensive, full of rich snobs.

May be a dumb question but how is the offroad community? Is hated is it catered to or is it moderate? I love my sxs and offroad culture
HUGE. Endless public land up here to enjoy.
I live in north Idaho, and I see quads and SXSs driving through my development all of the time, even on the main city streets.
I live out by Harrison Idaho...I've only been here a couple of years now...how do you find the places to ride ??
I'm really curious who "that one person" is...? I have a guess.
