Calista Flockhart Talks Reported 'Ally McBeal' Sequel

Following her reunion with castmates on the Emmys, Graeme O'Neil takes a look at Calista Flockhart weighing in on the reported "Ally McBeal" revival/sequel that has been in the works for a few years now.

As a kid (at the time) with depression and anxiety, Ally Mcbeal was one of the reasons I didn’t feel scared to go to therapy. I’ll always be grateful to the show for doing that.

I’d love a reboot, but I know better. Not a single reboot has worked, so great to have that reunion and maybe have an special in Jimmy Kimmel like those of the girls of Friends, but what we need is a new character written for Calista of the level of challenge and artistry that was Ally McBeal.
Maybe she could join the new season of Big little lies?

The 9nly one that proved to be a hit was Roseanne. And the ratings were so high, they couldn't cancel it. So they decided to cancel her instead

We already saw the disaster of the Will & Grace, Murphy Brown and Mad About You reboots. Just because you had a popular show 30 years ago, doesn't mean it's gonna be a hit in 2024. The only one that stood a chance was Roseanne. And her reboot was a massive hit, so they couldn't cancel it. So instead they cancelled her the second they had a chance.
