wish he’d be the last dmitri instead of cody simpson...
and Derek should be JD
His portrayal of the song has more of this tone of annoyance and hurt rather than what we’re used to- hopeful and kinda like a learning moment of the character, Dimitri.
All and all, I liked it a lot!
His voice is PERFECT for this role
Yeah! He sounds so much like Derek, only Derek's voice is a little bit stronger. But from his expression, he's a darker Dmitry for sure.

It’s kind of crazy that Ryan is just now making his Broadway debut in Wicked. After his run in Wicked though, he should totally be in Anastasia!
Yesss! I don't mind the angrier portrayal of the character as well as long as we see him become less angry because of Anya as the story progresses.

Funny you say that, because he actually sounds like a perfect mix between Derek and Zach. He has both a rich but light tone to his voice and seems to have a more effortless time singing this song (just like Zach) than Derek does.

I feel like he plays too dark....the scene is about him showing Anya around his city that he loves.....sure he's had a rough time but he still loved it and is excited to show it to someone but ryan makes it seem like he's going to murder someone....idk

i think he’s trying to drift away from playing jd, he does seem to throw himself into that role when he’s performing

I love how a part of JD shines through his portrayal of Dmitry
he starts out in a darker area, then lightens up towards the end like he was just tying to find the character while singing

okay. so i’m an avid lover of anastasia, and i actually got to go see it live in indianapolis (yes, i cried). seeing this amazing man singing this song makes me wish he could have been a part of the production. like, he looks like a perfect dmitri. (still love you derek klena though 😂)

I like his rendition of "My Petersburg" vocally, but his emotion is kind of dark. In the musical and movie, Dimitri has this sort of love towards his "Petersburg" despite his troubles. Ryan, in the way he plays Dimitri, has sort of a disgust towards his village. Either way, Ryan nailed it vocally!

First time I heard of Ryan was during his Liv & Maddie days on the Disney Channel. He then went on to play Jason Dean in the off Broadway production of Heather's (he's great in it 👌🏼) and now he is currently playing Fiyero with Wicked.

Ryan's voice is amazing! Perfect voice but he looks angry most of the song & it's supposed to be a uplifting hopeful song. Other than that, he needs to play Dimitri, that would be amazing!
