no one compares to Derek Klena. He really completely owns the character of Dimitry and it shows in every note he sings
stephen brower was FLAAAAT
The look of resignation on his face gives me life.
Not to be mean but he was off-key. Inarguable.
It was and always will be Derek Klena!! ❤
I thought William and Tyler’s tone was actually pretty good.
I gotta give it to Derek and William
Andrew Barth Feldman sneaking in here, nice. Neat watching all these, though of course some of the belts require the context of the singer's style and key, because music. Thanks for the compilation!
Haha ofc
William Bishop's tone is so good!!! Very full and controlled!! Kudos!
Tyler is so good, yet somehow so unmentioned 1:00
WHAT?! 3'Years without me noticing I was featured in your compilation. Thank you! ❤
YOU WERE AMAZING
@@Edentify-cb2ge Aww thank you 🙏
Ryan left no crumbs
Tyler Hardwick was on the money. A lot of them were a little flat which makes me feel better about myself when I attempt the A.
Yea, it’s not an easy note to reach, I was trying to reach that note, and I fell kinda flat vocally, but my range is kinda different being a girl, but I guess I could still strive for different notes, so IDK
I’m a tenor, and I find it 10x harder to hit a solid A4 belt (this, Sante Fe, etc.) than B4s (Who am I, Goodbye, and more) and C5s (Mainly “Made of Stone” and “Pity the Child”
Derek Klena 100%.
William is amazing!!
Should have left Derek till the last tbh 😭 great video though!
I liked the way @ChristofChapsis employed a bit of cry in his contribution, but there are tons of great efforts here
The third guy was a little off on the note.
Just a little?
A little?
Yeah he was flat on the A4.
It was kinda painful
0:16 yes ryannn!!
EXACTLY
Why is no one talking about TYler??? sounds like butter
You should make an updated one with the new Dimitri's they've had from the national tour this year!
Yes! Willem Butler is who I saw and he was phenomenal :D
@@lydialemons2464 i just saw him the other day!!
@@lydialemons2464 yesss same! He was amazing
@@lydialemons2464 I also saw Willem Butler and he is my favorite Dmitry! His voice blew me away!
Yes Willem Butler was amazing! Love him so much!
0:10 OMG YAAAASS RYAN
Okay, William Bishop was great, I really like Chapsis's twist and Cole Johnston is an absolute powerhouse. Bravo
Whoa, definitely that William Bishop guy 😮
In love with William and the first dude
Ryan. Always.
I love Derek😍
Voor mij Christof Chapsis ❤
this song is so incredibly hard to sing. like im playing dmitry as a mezzo soprano and i can’t imagine how hard it must be singing as a tenor because this song especially the ending is so so hard to sing
Yeah, it's very difficult lol. I'm a countertenor, so I top out probably around where you would, maybe a little lower, but even I struggle to get that with my chest voice. It's very clear that everyone uses their chest voice (Derek, especially), so I don't want to flip into my mix, but sometimes, it's just too risky to belt lol.
@@bradybeckley3343 i could never get the vowels right on the last note. i always went “peters baarg” instead of “burggg” because it felt like it was damaging my voice and i didn’t want to risk it
@whoskelsii that's what I'm saying! Derek makes it look sooooo easy, but it's so hard to maintain the "er" sound whilst also trying to sing up in the rafters lol.
PLEASE TURN ON CAPTIONS
Omg
NAAAAHHHH
LMAOO im a year late but i was hoping someone noticed
No! Yes! No! Yes!
💀
Timestamp?
Derek all the way
I am a big Derek Klena fan - but William Bishop wins this compilation of videos. No question
The Ah frustrates me
Derek and William fs
TYLER HARDWICK SNEAKING IN THERE HOLY CRAP
This is a little off track but Talen looks like Crutchie from Newsies
Someone tell me HOW to hit the note please 💀 I’m singing this for an audition tomorrow
Did you do it good
@@elicarlson7682 Thankfully yes, although I think I did too much vibrato because I have very little vocal control when it comes to belting 💀
@@definitelynotcole4842 nice, do you know if you got casted yet?
@@elicarlson7682 yep! I didn’t get the role I wanted, but I did get a good role so that’s pretty cool
@@definitelynotcole4842 epic
Jake levy from the tour is the best go listen to him trust me
Derek klena
William was best for besides original
Ryan and Derek are superior
So, like, where's Willem Butler?
FOR REAL
I SAW WILLEM BUTLER PERFORM THIS LIVE THREE DAYS AGO TOTAL SURPRISE AND EVEN TALKED TO HIM
Stephen Brower was dumb flat but he knew it instantly it’s a tough note to sing especially for tenor 2 or baritones
I’m sorry people are only saying Derek Klena because he’s popular because TYLER HARDWICK ate them all up!!!!
STEPHEN BRO WHAT THE HECK THATS NOT EVEN THE NOTE
Tyler is the only one who is on the Perfect pitch and don’t have to sneak in the right pitch, when the vibrato sets in.
That third guy should give up and find another career.
As someone who does theatre, that is extremely rude. He just needs to practice the note :)
@@Anime_theatre_lover As someone with ears, the third guy should give up and find another career
Nah I don't actually think so but that was pretty terrible
Call it discouraging or unhelpful if you want (cause yeah, he can just practice a LOT more and train his voice more and whatever or he could just not get leads) but calling it rude isn't at all a defense
Like it doesn't make it any less true and more practice might NOT help him - I'm a BASS bass and as someone who does theatre, I'm never going to get a lead. Ever. That's just. I'm not a tenor and theatre is stacked against me. I can cry about it and say everyone is rude to me but that's not gonna change it so really no point
@@samstromberg5593The thing is, it sounds like the note is in his range but he is literally singing it way too flat.
Hey, up against all of these amazing dudes, none of are are gonna sound amazing (not that I can sing this, lol, as I'm a Soprano, but in general)
@@Anime_theatre_lover exactly, he ain’t where it’s at, but it’s never to late to get there with practice. I am also far away from where it’s at, but singing is my passion!
