Someone should make some more tutorials on Ableton & Fantom. Now ... if I was a better musician, I would do it myself, but I'm still learning the whole thing.

YES!!!! "How do you record MIDI to Logic Pro X", and "How do you record MIDI + Audio to Logic Pro X" would be a fantastic tutorial. I was able to record Audio to Logic, but never succeeded with recording MIDI to Logic Pro X. Still scratching my head how to properly set up my new Fantom 7 (less then 1 month old) as an external MIDI instrument in Logic. You guys rock! Thanks much for your help!

Hi Ed, There are so many MIDI configurations inside Ableton Live for the Fantom. Can you make a tutorial on what settings are relevant and the function of each setting. The cloud is useless to me until there is help for this. Houston Singletary would be the man for this. SUPER URGENT
how to record audio from the fantom into the daw w/out me hearing the fantom itself? like straight-up hearing just the computer audio? is there a method for that? 🤔
Thank you Ed .If processing through the audio outs of the Fantom to Ablelton would the tracks be split according to the track .Alternatively can a single track be recorded at a time from the song project ?
It's really sad that years after introduction of the new Fantoms, no linear DAW is supported on the Windows platform at all, and the only other DAW is Logic for MacOS..
1:11:22 - 'I'll wait for Houston to get into that". This is in reference to the lead sound designer at Ableton helping the layman out to harness the power of this board. Is this going to happen at some point? This was 9 months.
I really enjoy your videos 😊 I have the Roland Fantom 6 and created a scene that has four external synths (e.g., Sequential Pro3, Polybrute, Novation Summit, and Waldorf Iridium) saved to separate zones on separate midi channels. I would like to record the midi and audio signals from each zone within the above-mentioned scene into Ableton Live 11. How would I do this? So far, I can only record audio and midi, via the USB Audio feature, from the Roland Fantom and not the external synths. Please help. Thanks, Eddie
Is there actually a way to use the DAW Control with Ableton ? I can record audio / midi perfectly, but I was hoping to be able to use transport controls too. Sadly when I press the DAW control button it says I need to connect my compuyter to the PC
One thing that has disappointed me is if you set USB Audio to Parallel instead of Mix, you loose the IFX, Chorus, Reverb and master effects. At that point you are only recording the stems of the 16 stereo channels up until their MFX portion. If you want all the system effects (IFX / Chorus / Reverb / Master) recorded you would have to change the USB Audio to MIX instead of Parallel. When you do this you then loose the stem of Channel 1 as it is buried in the mix. What would have been nice is they had stems for all 16 stereo tracks and also another stereo pair for mix out so you can track everything without loosing functionality. Just remember if you record in parallel, what you record is not what you are hearing in the Fantom as you probably have a mix of IFX / Chorus / Reverb / Master effects doing something in that scene.
Fantom best synth music workstation ever. I am tired of daw pressing mouse. Fantom has real buttons for samples, filters, Drums and that's what everybody else doesn't have. Yamaha don't get it. Korg don't have it. I have Korg Krome, but it was created to limit creativity haha. Fantom has it all. My dream music workstation

all I wanted to know was if there an output on the Roland phantom 8 that will plug in to a tascam 32 SD recording system
Absolutely. There are multiple options. Headphone jack, SUB OUTPUT 1, SUB OUTPUT2.

I am running on Pc This didn't help me. I don't see the Fantom listed in my Ableton.
I finally figured out the audio part of it but my midi is not working for recording.
