Writing a song from scratch for normal people hopefully this will help someone.
Also watch how to do it on the Korg Nautilus • Record a song from scr...
Soon I will do the same song on the Yamaha MODX. Also visit www.Eddie-G.com
Thanks a ton keep please making these videos for Roland! I will donate $
Thanks so much. I appreciate it. Any subject you have in mind?
More actual instruction than nine thousand Ed Diaz videos.
Yeah, I went ahead and said that.
Incredibly helpful video for beginners with the phantom 0. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Very good, instructive video. I didn't know about reverb effects not available in IFX - good to know!
This is fantastic there is no need for a daw, watching from Jamaica
Eddie, you are a legend. These videos are awesome.
Which sequencer was your favorite (Between Fantom/Nautilus/Montage?) I would love to know. About to buy a new synth
Thank for the comment and well… I think to sequence and come up with ideas quickly the best and most intuitive sequencer is in the the Fantom 0. However, if you also want to record audio on the keyboard; than the choice could only be the Nautilus. It all depends on what you want with a keyboard. Though I just found a way to use the MODX sequencer in an easier way I came up with a step by step way to make it not so confusing. I’m going to shoot a video about it soon and I’ll also make a pdf file with the steps available online. What new synth do you want to get? Anyway, Happy playing!

Let's not forget the KORG Triton pro work station!!!
It's pretty much the same steps as Nautilus (except no audio tracks for Triton).
That beat is bangin my man!!

Reminded me of Sade music Thanks for walking through the process of creating a sONg" great job 👏
15:46 MIXER button is present in the PTN UTILITY window
So helpful. Thank you.
Which one sounds better to you, Roland Fantom 0 or Korg Nautilus ?
To me they are comparable. I think some pianos sound better on the Nautilus and other sounds may sound fatter however, they both sound good. As an all in all workstation I think the Fantom is better. To me the sequencer is better with no bugs the Nautilus graphics are horrible and hard to see and the sequencer requires way to many menus and submenus to get anything done. I’m selling mine but I’m keeping the fantom. Nautilus is also a it heavier to transport so there goes live use. I personally use a MoDX to play live. And one keyboard I’m really impressed by is the Akai MPC Keys 61 as an all in all complete workstation (DAWless recording) that’s the best.
Eddie thank you very much excellent 🎉
14:55 no need to press PTN UTILITY > DELETE ... , just press UNDO :)
Thank you!
Can you export a MIDI file into a USB drive of the whole song too? Or only Audio? With this specific Roland Keyboard
Yes you can export the MIdI file
@@edgaba But only 64 bars? And then again the other 64? Or that only happens when importing Midi from the external source?
I’m not sure what you mean however it should allow you any amount of bars. What are you trying to do?
@@edgaba The older FA-06 allows me to "Export SFM Midi" and what it does is write the "data" info in Midi of all tracks as with a standard 16 track MIDI song. I can open that file with Cubase and assign each data track a vst instrument of my chouce. The same as with a MIDI controller workstation, that records the "MIDI/SFM" data in the SD/USB, instead of the Audio tracks [it can export audio too but I am interested in the MIDI]
The intended use is to come up with Midi ideas and send them to the PC to finish/quantise/mix with vst instruments of the keyboard AND of the PC
@@edgaba Send the MIDI data of the song created with this keyboard to the PC via USB pen drive yo finish the editting in Cubase
What happened to the vocal track at the end? It disappeared? When you sampled the whole track and exported to WAV your vocals were gone?
The sampler cannot sample the sampler per say. The way to do it would be to convert the sample I to a partial and make it a keyboard program/patch so that is an extra step that I did not do that’s why the vocal wasn’t present in the mixdown.
Did you not notice when you sampled your finished song, it did not trigger your voice, so your voice was not recorded in the final mix. That's the big problem for me, how to export a song including vocals :(
Hello, thanks for watching. I think I had the pad off so the vocals were off when I sampled the sequence. However, with that said I do enjoy the Fantom but I wouldn’t try to do vocals on it since it lacks a lot of things that I would like for producing vocals. The Korg Nautilus also fell short in my opinion, the Nautilus sounds great but it was my least favorite to sequence on. The audio recorder sounds good but it was buggy and the keyboard lacks XLR inputs so… Nah! I’m actually selling the Nautilus it was my least favorite between Fantom and MODX. I just got the Akai MPC key 61 and I am extremely impressed with it that it’s truly as close as you’re going to get to a DAW. I will be maki g a video about it soon.
@@edwardgarrido6628 Hi, thanks for the reply. Its a limitation on the Fantom I believe, it can record samples or play samples but it cannot re-sample a sample so when you pressed "sample", the Fantom could not play your recorded sample.
Apparently if you load you recorded sample as a partial on a tone, you can record (sample) your recorded sample that way. Yes agree, having loads of fun with the Fantom, cheers
@@Two-Vees-In-a-Van do you have a tutorial link on how to do this? I have this exact problem, can’t get my vocal tracks to export to WAV with the rest of my song. I suppose you could build the song, and then play it and record it to an external recording device also?
@@mikeg1994yes that’s what I am doing. I invested in a used tascam multitrack Portastudio recorder , far quicker and easier
@@mikeg1994 Sorry no, I purchased a used Tascam Portastudio to record to in the end
