    This feels so innovative although I'm sure there's a million other configurations doing the same. I just haven't seen a breakdown quite like this before. You blessed us with a gem. My setup doesn't include either machine, but for now, I take the concepts you just taught us and will be looking forward to actually playing live.

    Really like what you did here. Especially with your detailed explanation of the various workflows. Id like to see you do one in regards to how you chose a beat for the finger drum performance style and how you stem out the beat accordingly. 👊🏽

    Chea! Our digital music community is really starting to morph into a new animal. I carry a similar bag to work which I call a Boogie Bag. It has my iphone with the Gadget2 app that I connect my BeatstepPro to using a wireless Bluetooth midi adapter connected to a small speaker. We jam on breaks. Thanks for the drop Bro

    My portable set-up is similar, but I'm trying to use only items that are battery or phantom powered. I'm using the MPC Live II and am awaiting the Roland SP-404MKII. I also have a Bose S1-pro, a Maxie Mixer and a Shure-SM58 microphone.

    Since you mentioned DJing in the beginning, if you want a portable DVS setup you can use an Akai AMX with your reloop spin. Works with Serato and can be midi mapped to other programs.
    The Reloop Buddy is also a neat portable controller.

    • @AccurateBeats

    I love the video man. Ive been wanting a video with someone who has the same setup. MPC routing into the sp404 for effects. Then route back for sound design sampling from the sp4040 to the Mpc, But the only thing is, the routing gets confusing trying to have one source of audio within the Focusrite 2i2 interface.

    Maschine + live is ballsy because mine will crash at any moment. # reason I’m considering selling it for a MPC live II. But it’s been years since I’ve had an MPC and I really love Maschine workflow but MPC seems like a better tool in terms of a tool (custom sound community vs NI making it difficult, custom chord progressions, beat tempo changes) but Maschine seems way more fun and easy to use and they could easily update it to have those features. Plus time stretch in the plus is a beast!!

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, I keep hearing stuff like that. My M+ has crashed on me a couple of times since I got it but it’s not been a recurring issue.
      It’s strange how it seems to only apply to some units…

  • @sinewaymusic
    @sinewaymusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It seems a bit disappointing to only play full songs for the most part. For a live performance, I'd personally want to keep things more dynamic by eg. playing the stems of tracks instead, at least 3-4 tracks (e.g. drums, bass, melody) so I could apply some real-time effects on the individual parts while playing the songs. On the MPC, all songs could be imported into one enormous project where each song is one sequence. I'm sure there are similar possibilities on the M+.
    So then the MPC could leverage its XYFX effects on the individual tracks, and then the 404 would act as the master effect.

    This might be obvious, but how does the 404's beat repeat effect stay in time without sending midi clock from the maschine+?

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s not.
      It’s totally manual and out of sync. That’s what makes it so fun :)

      If you're talking about sending the Cue To the headphones on the M#, i finally figured IT out (totally necessary for live sets).... Here's my notes to myself on the topic:
      **STEP 1**: Audio section in Settings, scroll through pages to Output.... First two slots should be the 0 and 1 (the 1 & 2 Line Outs), next two slots should be 2 and 3 (the 3 & 4 outs is the headphone jack)
      **STEP 2**: Channel/Midi button (top left), in the pages, will show screen option for Output; in Output, *MAKE SURE TOP BUTTON IS ON "MASTER"* and underneath, *MAKE SURE OUTPUT IS ON Ext. 1 AND CUE IS ON Ext. 2*.... This means main audio will come from Line Outs, and Cue audio will come from headphone jack 🤙
      ****EVERY.... SINGLE.... NEW PROJECT NEEDS TO HAVE CUE CHANGED TO Ext. 2 FOR THE CUE TO COME OUT OF THE HEADPHONES 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️😖😖****
      i don't know why they didn't program M+ to have the Cue on Ext. 2 by default for every project, but there we go 🤷‍♂️🤙🤙🌌

      @DALHOPP 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@darkuniversesound I also figured out a setup with Komplete audio 6. but I had to add route the cue to a stereo out because there is now way to route the cue to one of the two (!!!) headphone jacks.
      I am also on baffled by the fact that there is no practical default to cue. You need to set up each channel. But I realized you can mark all 16 of a group and adjust them altogether. But anyway, this gets you out of flow…

    Hey Accurate! Just a question for you as you have plenty of experience using Maschine and MPC. My question is what do you enjoy using the MOST in standalone, the MPC or Maschine? I am trying to find out which I would feel most creative with. I have no experience with Komplete or MPC software, primarily make all my music ITB at home. Looking to incorporate a standalone controller to help with my live solo shows tho. So, no pressure here, but curious what you find the most inspiring / quickest learning and workflow. I suppose the most important to me is using loops, drum pads and some instrument control with a midi keyboard. Thanks from Canada! Love your beat vids! All the best
