Wow mate. Awesome job. I went fishing at porthkerris down at Cornwall and was spinning for mackerel. Caught nothing. Props from redruth, and keep up the good work
Now I get what you were talking about with the Rock by the seaside town we were talking about before! I even recognised the boats going by! lol I walked over that Lugger to get to my Nephew's lugger! Great Video!
Yes your fish at 6.17 was a Tompot Blenny (Parablennius gattorugine). Yours was a particularly colourful specimen with the red edges to the pectoral fins. I think that's a breeding colouration but I'm not entirely sure. They do have interesting breeding habits as the male not the female guards the eggs after laying. Scuba divers are fond of them because they're incredibly inquisitive and frequently swim right up to divers.
Great video guys i love rock fishing myself because of all the different species you can catch but i would say that when i am fishing the rocks especially for wrasse i only use enough ragworm to cover the hook and it is very effective as at means when you get a bite you know it is in their mouth and i have had great results including a 3-4lb wrasse anyway keep up the good work and tight lines.
Hey guys you've done some work on fly fishing for Carp. What about the other new craze in fly fishing? Mullet and of course bass. Would love to see your take on that. Love the vids. Keep em coming.
I would love to see you guys come to Hawaii and see the different types of fishing that they do on Oahu. They got HUGE GTs that will give you a run for your money. Plus the beautiful sights are worth a view as well.
Hey Graeme/Mike! Could you possibly do a video on float fishing around rocks or a pier for mackerel or small pollock? also would you reccomend mackerel strips for pier fishing? thank you
Great vid as usual was fishing recently and got hooked on something either a salmon or a big brown trout on the worm using a ledger rig, snapped the 10lbs Line when it saw the wall anyway that's fishing Keep up the good work tight lines
(Graeme answering this one)..I personally don't like the trendy dropshot weight having seen Mike snag up and lose loads. You can also get a double SSG shot which is pretty chunky so they might do the job.
If you are setting the drag on a spinning reel should you be able to pull out line with your hand ? Or do you keep it tight so no line can be pulled by hand ?
Hi, i m going to Tenerife soon and wondered if this set-up would catch me anything of the coast there ? Got a similar rod and reel to take. I've not been before so not sure what to expect. I'll be near los cristianos. Thanks in advance for any replies/ tips !
Deffo worth a try in the canary islands.I used to shore fish between my Blue Marlin trips there and you can get all sorts of tiny species. You will lose gear near the rocks.Try sections of prawn for bait and you can make a groundbait mush of local bread and a can of tuna or pilchards mixed up and thrown in at intervals. If very rocky try floatfishing and use small hooks. Rocks will be better than open beach.Watch out for any Atlantic swells and watch for where any locals might be fishing. The groundbaiting is the key.
10lb line u will lose big fish 30lbs line is thicker n will be harder for a fish to break lose ,this guy dont know what his doing i dont recomend you to fallow his advice ,watch real fishermans on utube ull learn how is done ,all this i just seen here is someone that dont know how to fish n is only doing it for the hell of it ,his rod is good but the line his using n his assemble complitly is getto done ,that rod would be perfect with a 25lbs breaded line with a swivels and a real led weight or no weight at all
Jesus Christ what a load of shit in one post, don't listen to this guy. What test line you use really depends on your fishing conditions, if your rock fishing like in this video 30 lb test will allow you to horse in and put more pressure on fish to keep them from diving into the rocks. However your performance in sensitivity and control over your bait will suffer for it. if you do get snagged 30lbs if going to give you problems, so you'll probably want a lighter leader anyway unless you like being the bastard that covers the rocks in fishing line. if your confident in your fishing skills, can use a drag, and can keep fish from going into the rocks 10lb test will preform better. If you not as confident (or you feel your fish will be bigger) go with 30lb test. However I will say this, gearing up for the fish that may never come every time you go fishing WILL make your trips less enjoyable than gearing up to get the best sport out of the average fish. Cheers.
Help please,,, i want to fish for seabass off the cliffs, they are usually 2,5kg... I have to reel them up a cliff 100 meters. I googled all day, 'strongest reel' etc tec. Can't get any results. Does anyone know which is the best fixed spool reel for reeling up fish out of water up cliffs? Ideally around 485 - 520grams to match my rod. Thank You in advance Guy's.
You might want to look at an old style reel called an Alvey, its a sidecast but as far as I know were always used for hard work fishing. They used them a lot in South Africa shore fishing.
Thanks so much, i just had a look, there are new models available but don't appeal as i want an open faced reel so i can use it for pier fishing, shore fishing also. @@TAFishing
Considered a sport fish and not for eatting however i know several people who have tried them and said they are edible. In Gaelic regions in the west of ireland they are cooked in a dish with onions i believe called "ballach bui" (spelling could be wrong)

Great grockle fishing. Massive Wrasse there and not too far from there.

great video as usual guys keep up the good work🖒👌👌
any huge diff using trendy dropshot over two swanshot beneath short pat hook midway? (something i've done for 40 years!?)
(Graeme answering this one)..I personally don't like the trendy dropshot weight having seen Mike snag up and lose loads. You can also get a double SSG shot which is pretty chunky so they might do the job.
Do you have any more info on those travel rods and reels?
What reel was Mike using looks really nice
First!!!
SECOND
What rod is the grey one looks good!
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
TAFishing Hi, where can I get one of those tafishing t shirts?
If you are setting the drag on a spinning reel should you be able to pull out line with your hand ? Or do you keep it tight so no line can be pulled by hand ?
You should be able to pull some line off by hand. If too tight, the line might break
Thank you
What a beautiful location, is this in Cornwall?
South Devon I believe
Steve Turner they are fishing off of berry head in torbay. Great spot!
What lure is mike using
this seems like an awesome location Graeme! Is it in Dorset?

Are rasse an good eating we have them down in San Diego and I catch the, sometimes
They are edible, but most of our anglers put them back.
Nice!
What's the rod you're using? It's not the same as the rod (epic pen rod) in description.
your amazing
im a fisher from morocco north africa
Tompot Blenny at 6 min 20 secs.
What is the different with a 10 or 30 lb line I knock can handle more weight but anything else?
thick line puts the fish off, also if you snag up on 30lb line its harder to break free

WHAT IS YOUR Favourite TYPE OF FISHING
Can you eat Wrasse?
The big ones "yes" first you fillet them and then skin them, I tried one last week , cooked it in tin foil with lemon......Not bad at all
yeah i always wondered that as u never hear about them being eaten.i guess they taste like shit
Valeriy Lukanov you can eat them but they are pretty bland and extremely boney. Not great bait either so they are more of a sport fish.
Considered a sport fish and not for eatting however i know several people who have tried them and said they are edible. In Gaelic regions in the west of ireland they are cooked in a dish with onions i believe called "ballach bui" (spelling could be wrong)
