- Essex born singer and model Nick Kamen - who was known for his 1986 hit Each Time You Break My Heart and for starring in a 1985 Levis 501 commercial - has died at the age of 59Nick Kamen has died at the age of 59.
The Essex born model was best known for starring in a 1985's Levis 501 commercial where he took off his blue jeans and white t-shirt in a busy launderette.
After the huge success of the campaign, pop icon Madonna reached out to Nick with the pair collaborating on hit Each Time You Break My Heart.
Following news of Nick's death today, celebs including Boy George have spoken out in tribute.
The musician shared a throwback shot of Nick and wrote alongside it: "'R.I.P to the most beautiful and sweetest man Nick Kamen!"Nick, who was born Ivor Neville Kamen ,was first brought to the public's attention in 1984 when he appeared on the front cover of style magazine The Face, wearing a ski-hat, lipstick and aviator shades.
However, it was his scene-stealing performance in that 1980s Levi's ad - that saw Nick strip down to a pair of crisp white Sunspel boxer shorts in the middle of a 1950s style launderette - that really caught people's imagination.
The ad led to a huge boom in the sale of Levi 501s. The Roger Lyons directed ad was also voted in fourth place in a countdown of the 100 Greatest Ads of all time in 2000.In 1986, a year after the ad turned Nick into a pin-up, Madonna reached out with a song she had written with Stephen Bray.
Each Time You Break My Heart, which Madonna also provided backing vocals on, went onto become a number five hit in the UK.
Nick went on to release follow up single Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever, a cover of the Four Tops' 1996 hit.
In a BBC radio interview in 1986, Madonna said she'd been inspired by Nick's charisma and beautiful voice.
Died after long battle with cancer.....and his brother died aged 52 of a heart attack years before....sad ...so young both .....RIP.....from Essex🇬🇧

È vero sia suo fratello che lui sono stati molto sfortunati avevano ancora una vita davanti ma purtroppo il destino è stato crudele con loro erano ancora giovani entrambi !
