    Truck drivers are required to stop driving after so many hours. Pilots are required to rest after a number of hours in the air. This doctor is working on the inside of your body but can work a 24 hour shift. Makes perfect sense.

    My longest shift was a 13 hour restaurant shift with zero breaks. I am going to nursing school next month and I feel like I have good experience with long hours on my feet.

    • @Tudoongie0T9
      @Tudoongie0T9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You definitely do because I find it working in a restaurant and as a nurse very similar in terms of long hours and always being on your feet and having to deal with people that think they have the right to be aggressive towards you but the difference between both is that it is way more understandable in the hospital then in restaurants because you are never in the hospital and in that state unless your health is bad and that’s really scary and stressful for the patient themselves and the family and the friends so the long hard mental and physical hours are more rewarding as a nurse sometimes you just get to be there for someone in their last days and sometimes you see them get out and and continue living their life’s. I wish you all the best in your life and nursing ❤ you will not regret it if your doing it for the right reasons 🫶

    Watching doctor vlogs from the US it always startles me that doctors are wearing jewellery on their wrists and hands and long gel nails. Also open hair. Aren't there hospital hygiene regulations that prohibit this? I expect hygiene standards in the US to be higher 😅
    Or maybe all the vlogging doctors just put these on for the vlogging scenes (not the nails obv) ?!

    This is how I felt except I was the patient. Got to the floor at 10pm. They stuck me in the freaking airborne disease room even though I just needed blood transfusions so there was an extra door next to my bed with a window where light shown through all night and the door leading to the door into my room was being opened and closed every 10 minutes. 12:45am they came to give me “night meds.” 1:30am came back again. Finally able to get to sleep at 2:00am. Naturally 4:00am seemed like a great time to come and do my damn vitals. 5:00am labs. 6:00am doctor. 7am MRI. Finally fell back asleep and started getting called by food service. Then the food service supervisor came to ask about the food except I didn’t order food. Half hour later they came to collect my tray except I didn’t order food. Random lady walked in my room. Then the cleaning lady came. Then it was time to be called about lunch that I again didn’t order but they still came to collect my nonexistent tray. Can’t forget the family of the patient across the hall that kept coming in my room. The damn door on the other side of mine continued to open and close every ten minutes. I was ready to scream. Next time I am refusing to go to med surg and they can transfuse me in the ER. It is quieter in the ER and takes a third of the time. Honest to god felt like I was being punked. The flipping MRI was the only “quiet” time I got.

      I didn’t need any help. How is making it so I can’t sleep helpful? Not a single one of those times did I get actual help or need help. What I needed was freaking rest! But good job making excuses

    • @ICaughtTheSnitch26
      @ICaughtTheSnitch26 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@A---ti3zz If you didn't "need help" then go home. 😂 Doctors and nurses are there to treat patients, not make sure you get uninterrupted sleep. If you're actually sick you need to be checked up on and have procedures done. It's part of being in a hospital.

    • @ankiefrankieful
      @ankiefrankieful หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The hospital is not the right place to get rest. If you needed blood transfusions you were definitely sick, and taking your vitals and giving you treatment was more important than a good sleep. Its a hospital, not a hotel, health care profressionals have time restrictions on their job, theycant ask which time you would like to get your blood drawn

    • @A---ti3zz
      @A---ti3zz หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ankiefrankiefulI don’t really think getting woken up 8 times about food was really all that important. Less than half of the times I was woken up was for a good reason. It’s hard enough being in a hospital don’t force me to be conscious when I am sick and anxious. If I somehow manage to fall asleep then let me sleep so I can suffer a little less. Last time I asked if I could stay in the ER and the doctor agreed. Other than the first 15 minutes of each bag the nurse only woke me up to start the next unit. The ER can transfuse without babysitting me so I think med surg could probably figure it out and like I said most of those visits were stupid and unnecessary. If the ER won’t keep me then I am having them make me NPO and at least maybe the food people will leave me alone. Yes I can in fact go without eating and it doesn’t bother me. I have been in the hospital many times and listed NPO for days
