Thank you--and you are right, I never saw such a thing before. Does make me wonder why the new propeller does not arrive assembled like every other I have seen--in my lifetime. Just the same, THANK YOU. It is appreciated--and I did make a hard stop today, realizing there was a bit more to it than I knew. Appreciate it. PS Yes, I HAVE seen a propeller off before--many times. But never needed assembly of the new propeller parts, the ones I have seen work this way, take off the Cotter pin, take off the castle nut, remove prop, remove washer and final whatever you call that final item--clean, lube, and place pre assembled system in reverse, tighten, put in new cotter pin.
When you used to purchase the older propellers they were designed specifically for your application, With this design the prop can be used on different engines! So instead of the prop being engine specific it is only the hub kit that is engine specific! Different engines use different size prop shafts! Also with this hub design if you were to have a prop strike instead of damaging your prop, prop shaft or gears the hub will just break!
I had a flo torq II kit on my motor. It was very noisy in gear at idle. There is play in the adaptor inside the hub and it rattles.I switched to a Solas rubex kit and it's MUCH quieter. The flo torq is my spare.
I have a 2018 mercury 100 hp command thrust with today a black max aluminium 17p that slips on the water under hard accelration or trimming out on the outboard. I bought a slightly used mercury vengeance 19p can i use the samme flo torq ii hub kit i use on the black max on this vengeance prop?
dunno if anyone cares but if you guys are bored like me atm then you can stream pretty much all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my gf for the last months xD
We have a 2014 Mercury 115. When torqued to 55 lb. ft. spec, the prop can slide on the shaft. It's only slightly, maybe 1/8", and it's forward / backward movement. Also, at 55 ft. lb. torque, the steel washer doesn't line up with the nut edges. I have to go higher or lower on torque to get it to line up. Are these two things normal?

Great video! Final bit of info for the viewers…make sure to re-grease the spline shaft before placing the prop back onto the shaft.
Thanks for the info!

Agree, but mine had a small crack in the sleeve, put a new one on and rattle went away, just FYI.

Do you lube any parts before assembly? My plastic sleeve seemed to have grease over it when I removed it from the propeller.
