Big question: where the hell did all this money go? They were living lavishly, but not that lavishly and we know drugs dont cost that much, so, where did it go?
Mark Tinsley is right! Alex isn't remourseful. Alex wasn't addicted to pills or buying pills, and Alex has a lot of money hidden somewhere. No way did he take that many pills and maintain his life and career so well. No way!!
AM statement was a joke. He has no real capacity to truly take responsibility. The statements from the lawyers were right on! He is a sickening excuse for a human being. My heart goes out for the victims, or, as one lawyer stated, they were his 'prey.'
3:18:45 That lawyer is exactly right! There is no way in hell Alex bought and consumed the amount of oxys he said. I know lots of people who became addicted to that opiate. 2 of whom are my daughters who passed away from an unintentional overdose. Another is my son in law, who also died of opioid overdose. Most of the friends I grew up with have also succumbed to their addiction. Lastly my ex-husband is addicted to that drug and takes it every day and has been doing so for 20 odd years. There by the grace of God go I. There is NO WAY Alec could have taken the amount of oxys he said he took nor spent that amount of money on it. He definitely has a nice sun of money (nest egg) tucked away for him and Buster. How many mg did he say he took of oxys per day and how much money did he say it cost him? Whatever it was it is absolute bullshit! Even though he said he took hundreds-thousands of mg a day that’s not correct cause he’d be dead! 1/80mg oxy might cost $10-$15 on the street. The most he could possibly take without overdosing is maybe 1200mg/day which would be at most a $300/day habit, probably much less if he’s buying in quantity. So I don’t know how he gets away with saying he spent all the millions of dollars that he stole from his clients plus his salary. Not buying it and if anyone else does, that’s just stupid! It is physically impossible! IMO he murdered his wife an son because they found his stash of pills (probably at dog kennel) and refused to give them back to him. That’s the only reason I can think of (in this particular situation) why he would murder his family. I say that because I have been around addicts my whole life and the only thing that would motivate them to kill is if they needed their drugs (oxy/opiate) and someone had them and was purposely withholding it from them. I believe that’s exactly the rage it took for Alex to murder his wife and son. Sorry, soo triggered and angry by this case!
I think he was gambling with the money! He seems to like to bet on everything in jail from his phone calls & that really makes me think he was addicted to gambling! It makes a lot more sense than the entire “drug story” he puts out! I think he lost millions gambling on everything…horses, casinos, football & guys poker nights…..he’s a gambler!
80mg sells for $80 but say he was taking 10 80mg a day ( I don’t know how ) that would be $800 a day $292,000 a year. He didn’t spend those millions on drugs.
I’ve never seen so much 💩 fly with that fake af apology to the victims! May he rot behind bars. Now let Bigg Bubba & pals have the best time teaching AM lessons many times a day!
Side note: Props to Judge Newman - he did a fantastic job with this trial !!! Love him. And idk what it is about black judges - but they are always my favorite. I loved Judge Perry in the Casey Anthony trial! Both class acts all the way!! 👏👏👏
SC Attorney General badly needs to convene an investigation on ALL myriad of legal tentacles that were exposed during these AM trials and start putting forth legislation to close these illegal pathways known to the legal and financial predators!!
3hrs 38 mins -when he's looking his victims in the eyes, telling them he feels for them just the same way he does his family - the family he murdered in cold blood - he sure is telling the truth
The craziest part of this is he is still paying lawyers and has money on his books but he doesn't have any money left. Sell everything he owned and take everything from his son as he did everybody. He acts like he is watching a child's game
Quite an impressivew dsiscourse presented by Justin Bamberg, attorney representing the Pickney family. Tender and honest with so much integrity!!! Bravo!
27 years that he will never serve or pay for all of this ..because he already has 2 life sentences with out of parole…so no payment ..no Justice for these people!..
He disgusts me seeing him smiling while his victims were his friends and collegues who trusted him and he betrayed. And his poor wife and son gone because of his greed! I hope he rots in prison!
The fact that he would take time out of his speech to try and "correct " the attorneys for the truth they told shows how much he was "listening and hearing" the victims.
One thing for sure, and two thing for certain: *Banks are complicilty behind/involve in *EVERY SINGLE HIGH-PROFILE* money-making fraud, scheme or scandal that includes the requires exorbitant of money/millions in order to execute the fraud in a perpetual or revelving cycle. Judge Newman is a wonderful human being. And many Murdaugh preyed upon, are some of the best examples of Christians who are faithful to God by forgiving this man who had no shame in taking what he wanted from anyone and everyone he encountered. I have to think of the verse in the Bible that says the first will be last and the last will be first. Those who made the hard decision to forgive will be first in the Kingdom of God. This is the aspect of this horrible trial that I choose to take with me. God is the final judge, and His sentencing will be just and right. But in the meantime, Judge Newman did an awesome job and I know if I ever met him in person, he would be someone I would love to talk to. Very wise, kind, fair and direct in his convictions.
I really loved how Eric Bland brought out that Poot & Jim had a made public statements (about the jury BS) & RIGHT after they brought that out, they attended Crime Con in Orlando & they spoke in sessions about this case! Then I believe it’s Jim that has the podcast, which I need to check out! But they are making so many accusations about the publicity although THEY are the ones publicly speaking on it! I’m NOT a fan of the defense attorneys. I was appalled when Poot pulled the gun out in the court case & pointed it at the prosecution. Everyone knows you NEVER point a gun at ANYONE loaded or not! Murdaugh has NEVER cried out for law enforcement to find the killer(s) of Paul & Maggie, so that is why I believe he is completely guilty of those crimes! He didn’t have a drug addiction, he was gambling all that stolen money away! He has a gambling addiction & is gambled on everything while in jail! Football games, cards…you name it! It’s all in his jail calls to Buster. And something happened between Alex & Maggie that changed their relationship when they moved to Hampton. Alex spoke to John Marvin’s wife Liz about this in their calls from jail. Alex & Liz have a VERY flirtatious relationship that really goes beyond a sister-in-law/brother-in-law relationship….its nauseating!
I can’t help wondering what Alex was smiling about when he was in court pleading guilty to all the fraudulent crimes(a long list).I feel that he has an ulterior motive going on and will be pulling a rabbit out of his hat at some point .It will be interesting to see the rest of this horror story as it unfolds.Hopefully he doesn’t get a retrial for murdering his wife and son!

3:56:03 QUESTION: if his father and grandfather were so upstanding how did his family have such a reputation that no one wanted to come forward.
Before the recess when they stand he laughs. What on earth could he laugh about? What a crook!? People suffered and he took advantage of them!
And the Oscar for best actor goes the Alex Murdaugh
for real. unbelievable. He loves being on stage.
Tinsley the Tiger was ignoring this BS. The audacity of this evil man. God help all the survivors and please reveal where the money is. ❤
The fact that Alex is smirking during parts of this sends a shiver down my spine
A rotten human being. The wrong he did to everyone he crossed paths with, can never be repaid. Judgement day...
Boy Creighton waters and his entire team are outstanding,,thankyou for bringing him down on ALL accounts,,bravo job well done
The craziest part of this is he is still paying lawyers and has money on his books but he doesn't have any money left. Sell everything he owned and take everything from his son as he did everybody. He acts like he is watching a child's game
A few weeks ago I heard that Alex's attorneys were still trying to get paid.
Now you know they are only helping because they know where the money is. They are the same kind of crook as Alex
Love Judge Newman. Happy retirement.
If you finish with "I got caught" after every time he says "I'm sorry", it will make more sense.
Sentencing resumes at 5:13:30
👏🤙🏼
Eric bland has restored my faith in lawyers….he can do no wrong in my book
Or 999 years + couple of life sentences
He disgusts me seeing him smiling while his victims were his friends and collegues who trusted him and he betrayed. And his poor wife and son gone because of his greed! I hope he rots in prison!
I don’t even live in that state and I am so glad that he can no longer hurt his community where it meant the most. Never again
Love judge Newman
The fact that he would take time out of his speech to try and "correct " the attorneys for the truth they told shows how much he was "listening and hearing" the victims.
One thing for sure, and two thing for certain: *Banks are complicilty behind/involve in *EVERY SINGLE HIGH-PROFILE* money-making fraud, scheme or scandal that includes the requires exorbitant of money/millions in order to execute the fraud in a perpetual or revelving cycle. In other words, if the fraudster is using the bank in a so-called legitimate way, almost 99 percent of the time the vank is in on the scheme or at the cery least knows the scheme exist and is complicicit in perpetuatibg it!!!
Judge Newman is the best!
Thank you. Watching from Alaska.
I love Creighton Waters. Such a brilliant mind, and a cool name!
He laughs in the end...that tells you all there is to know. Rot in hell Alex.
God bless these people, and give them a peace that surpasses all understanding ❤😢
Not to mention he had a sex addiction as well.
3:42:50 Very bizarre, his grandfather looking at him via his portrait in courtroom 😢
I hope not.
Me too - I’ll be super pissed!!!
I think he's hoping to win a new trial for his killing his son and wife, get a hung jury, and then get out after 20 years.
I would love Court TV to be allowed at the Bryan kohberger trail.
What is he saying at 3:08:04 while Tinsley is speaking?
He is so full of it. I am pissed that he made a plea deal
Mercy! Murdaugh looks so smug and arrogant.
Great prosecuter!!
I think he needs to be “on watch” when he returns to his cell….
This guy shouldn’t be allowed commissary. He gets his new high from gambling commissary
He is going on and on, to be out of his cell for a while.
I love this judge.
GOD needs to judge Alex Murdaugh!!!! Forgiving him only gives him peace of mind. He does NOT deserve peace of mind.
Great job judge!..the fishing pole and retirement is calling your name!..
Isn't that his father's portrait hanging in the background over hos shoulder? May God have mercy on Alex's soul
I wonder 🤔 the same thing ..
SMFH ..
That's not his father. Buster Murdaugh's portrait was in the courtroom that held his murder trial...but it was removed before the trial.
I thought of the same prayer today and it suprised me. Hearing the list of crimes is beyond comprehension. Just 'Wow.'
@Rachel- the portrait was only removed for the trial so as jot to influence the jury. It was put back up after it
