      I think the judge is spot on! You can’t tell me she read the entire transcript of the previous trial and then didn’t judge correctly. With she and Judge Newman presiding over these cases, it’s hard to believe South Carolina is plagued with so much corruption.

      Wow this judge is so not fair...allowing cell phones and if 1 juror said she was influenced that is a mandatory mistrial and you can just tell that Becky was lieing on the Oath...yes jackass is guilty but in 2 years jackass will be guilty again, but appropriately!!!

    You can tell by her questions she did read the entire transcript of the Murdaugh murder trial. She got more in depth than Dick did. She followed the law and we saw exactly what those jurors said so no one can say otherwise now. Becky Hill has ruined her name and reputation! Caused a mess for South Carolina! So happy the Judge let it be know she read everything involved in that case she believes the jurors got it right also.

    Based on her allowing Harpootlien to get his way on things she previously said she would not allow I thought she may rule if favor of defense. That would be a disappointment but this is a judge that has earned my trust.
    Judge Toal did not disappoint and she vindicated Judge Newman at the end👏👏👏

      If you're including law school. Evidently, women have been allowed in juries since 1967, and Jean Toal didn't graduate from law school until 1968. It was right around the same time. Times change!

      Becky was inappropriate but all 12 jurors said on verdict day it was their final verdict and their verdict alone. Anything opposite of that now only raise credibility issues about them and their motive(s) now.

    So, let me get this straight. We heard rumors that Becky Hill said all kinds of inappropriate things to the jurors. But, as it turns out, only one juror made such claims. Is that accurate?
    Also, after all of this drama in a very serious case, one of the jurors had the nerve to open her cell phone?! Why wouldn't the jurors turn their cell phones over before court? Am I missing something?

      It was TWO jurors That were on their phone. They didn’t hear instructions NOT to use their phone. There were 2 jurors who indicated they heard bhill say inappropriate things AND one juror (egg lady) who said she was acting inappropriately

    I think someone should check jury Z's checking account. Beck Hill will get her due but i never heard where spoke to the jury. Yes she took a juror home but she had someone with them from the court. Was he implicated?

      Check the witness clerks account AND the last juror’s account. Who approached these people. Pootles was very dramatic and last minute and yet the judge said they’d had plenty of discussion as to how the hearing was to be held.

      I didn't watch the entire thing, so I wasn't sure if I got it right. It sounds like only one juror made claims that Becky said all of those inappropriate things. Granted, the book deal was sketchy, so her reputation is in the toilet. But as far as trying to influence the jurors, she may not have done all of the things that she was accused of. Is that right?

      Agree. She was Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of South Carolina before she retired-serving more than 10 years in that position. She also sat on the Supreme Court of SC for many years prior.

    Another failure of the system. Determining the "influence on the verdict" of proven tampering is impossible. Who knows how suggestible these jurors were. If someone in a position of authority and with perceived, behind the scenes knowledge gives their opinion, one juror could easily incorporate that into their verdict without even being fully aware.

    I read Becky Hill’s book on my channel when it first came out because I couldn’t find a free audio of it, I decided if I had to buy it, I might as well read it aloud in case someone else was looking for a free audio of it like I was. It’s not a perfect job of reading, but it’s free. 😊

    I take real issue with a public employee working in the court being allowed to monetize a murder trial. I’m surprised there isn’t a rule against that. But rules or no rules I think it’s sick.

    Yes Becky lied. She should have not even written that book. However when the verdict came in each juror was polled and asked "is that your verdict." 12 jurors replied with "yes, that's my verdict". Suddenly a juror steps up and makes changes and I'm sorry, it is not above Alex and Mr. Magoo to influence and $$$..

      He's not defending her. Like most witnesses, both sides can interview them unless the person have a reason not to be interviewed by a defense attorney or the state (without immunity).

      Nope Becky didn’t lie. Imported clerk would have gone straight to the judge with info like that of a clerk and bailiff giving someone a lift. I think she was approached with a deal that couldn’t be refused. She made my skin crawl with her “charming” jokes and attempt to curry favour by asking the judge for water which was an arrogant move in the guise of humour.
