  • Just a very quick video to show how to assemble and fit the pad adapter rings I designed for the sundara closed back headphones. These will allow you to fir other 100mm earpads to them if you fancy something a bit different.

    I have been trying these rings with a ZMF oval pad: it fits but the sound was..... meh. I swapped for the dekoni pads that come with the Dekoni blue. WOW. Give those a go! And love these rings, they fit like a charm

    Would you say these headphones are a steal for their actual price (150$) or going for a dt 770 pro is safer ?

    • @CustomCans
      @CustomCans  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes they are a real steal at that price - I suppose it depends on what you want from the headphones - the sundara closed have eppic bass but the mids are a little forward for my liking, the DT770 80 ohm probably have better mids and treble. Both can be modded the tune them a bit

    Just printed that adapter. To be honest, you don't really need glue. Once the tab is locked into the earcup - it stays there relatively strong.

    Hello Jason, nice video.
    You asked about inpiration: I can't find any helpful material on "How to get rid of the awful Hifiman Deva/Pro headband"
    I like the sound of my Deva Pro and i have Dekoni Sheepskin pads on them. But the headband is so effing bad... No clamping force at all and after one or two hours it really hurts on the top of my head because the whole weight rests on a small spot in the middle.
    If it wasnt for that teeny tiny wire that runs through them, i would just buy any other headband. :D

    • @CustomCans
      @CustomCans  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well.. You may be in luck. I am in the middle of prototyping and testing a headband mod for the HE400se / eddition XS and it should fit the Deva Pro as well Should be ready to go next week hopefully

    any update on the hd 660s ?

    • @CustomCans
      @CustomCans  ปีที่แล้ว

      No - I kind of gave up on them as there is not a huge amount I managed to squeeze out of them safely. I may give it another go in a couple of months but it may not be possible to get similar results to what we did on the HD600 / HD650 without removing the driver from the baffle during the install and creating a possibility of people breaking their 660s while trying to mod them...
