I was super confused as to why this popped up on my subs feed lol. Can't believe it's been 6 years. Time flies.
Time goes way to fast.
First thing i did to my mk7.5 was, change exhaust to a cutback Invidia Q300 that utilizes the existing exhaust flaps. Sounds awesome! Adding an APR high torque stage 1 ecu and a dsg tune putting out some 530nm 270kw 370hp clogging 0 to 60mph best time @ 4.00. Almost a second quicker. I feel it can do under 4 seconds in colder conditions. Some with APR stage 1 have done 3.7 sec!
This is how the car should have come out in the first place.
One thing to mention. When using launch control, one must press the brake very firmly down or the revs won't go up. It took me some time to learn about this. Most launch presentations failed to mention this. All up. After one year of ownership, not seen another car to match what this gives me. The cake, cream and eat it. 😉

Yeah. That was the first I noticed too. Terrible steering circle. I had to learn in swinging out more just so as not to scrape my rear wheels on a kerb. That happened a few times. I am puzzled as to why it is built like that. Other than that, I actually prefer the MK 7.5 over the MK 8. I got an APR stage one and a DSG tune to follow. It already woke up my car to 375 hp 500nm.
I have an Invidia Q300 Cutback system. Sounds awesome. It is designed to work with the adjustable oem exhaust flaps.
The turning circle is bad on the mk7 Golf R because it is AWD. You don't have that problem on the regular(FWD) mk7 Golf or GTI.

u can control the gear fully if u want by shift u dsg to the left. i found out by mistake on my golf r 2019
Sound isn't through the sound system. There's a sound actuator fitted to the bottom of the windscreen (in the engine bay area) that vibrates the windscreen.

It’s a bit understated
U be up for a new waterpump soon,new thermostat,software upgrade for the gearbox which will end up with a brandnew gearbox install as the current software overworks the dsg so they told me.....
Not sure with the newer models, 5 year warranties and servicing in aus

Il stick to my 2020 vw stuffed up a few things on the 2021/22 r not impressed with it.
Pity you guys don't have the Cupra in Aus... same motor as the R just looks a lot less boring and more sporty. I had the choice of the R wagon and went for the Cupra ST because in my opinion it looks better.
