If someone asked you to leave the premises especially because of your age, please consider the fact that they are legally required to. The patron who punched him might or might not have hatred against Asians, but I strongly believe that if the kid left on the first request, high probability that this would not escalate to this situation. Definitely not a hate crime. Also, for us who are working in a pub or casino or liquor store, we need to be strategic on how we deliver our message. There are better ways to say “get the f*ck out” ;-) World Peace!
If this underage kid managed to get his hands on some alcohol while there the bar would have been accused of not removing a minor from their establishment.
I'm Asian and I wasn't there, but this owner seems okay. He asked him to leave several times. Unless there's clear video of what happened, family should not claim this owner is racist. I mean how disrespectful did that kid act? Not like somebody will punch someone out of blue.
@@pugilist102 It wasn't the bar owner that punched the guy. BTW, I'm Asian and I used to go G&C and talked to the owners all the times. They are not racists.
As an Asian I hate this story because it sounds like a boy who cried wolf and now people might downplay other, real cases of hate crimes. He was an 18 year old at a 21+ establishment that doesn’t serve food. Just because seating is moved outdoors because of pandemic doesn’t make them public benches. He was stubborn and asked to leave multiple times. 18 year olds “don’t belong” in bars.
That Filipino mom made a mistake to make that TikTok & pulling the race card against the business when the assailant was a passerby. As an Asian-American, her conduct harms the efforts to curb anti-Asian hate. SMH
In my opinion... The owner saying "you don't belong here" is speaking in the context of "you are underaged", you are not allowed in the establishment unless you are of age. I don't know why the victim would spin the situation to perpetuate a racial motive and ultimately attempting to destroy a person's livelihood and business. That is just wrong... But on another note, the other customer who assaulted the Filipino victim is also clearly in the wrong too.
I'm korean and this was definitely not a hate crime. If you're underage at a bar then you literally don't belong at that particular place. Changing the narrative and making it race related makes racism more prevalent.
Uh how is it traumatic for him to be told he doesn't belong there because he is underage at a bar??? Being punched in the face sucks. But can't people see what he is doing? He is playing the victim of the owner when the owner was just DOING HE'S JOB. Why is nobody calling him out on playing the racist card on the owner when he was the one in the wrong the whole time?? He's comments aren't even about the person who punched him, but towards the owner who again was only doing he's JOB!
I'm so sorry for this bar owner. This isn't gonna fly. This is gonna raise hate for sure if the media keeps playing with people's emotions and people's lives.

The bar did nothing wrong, he was under age where he shouldn’t have been, that said, whoever punched him was wrong, but to punish a public establishment for something a patron does isn’t right. I don’t like big cities, but I’m going to go in there and buy a round just to support the business.
I’ve been to this place a while back. I didn’t get punched but I was ignored service. The host pointed me to another pizza place near the area. " you f'ing dont belong here" is racist in the current COVID atmosphere and given that anti-Asian rallies have been giving messages "I BELONG HERE." " you f'ing dont belong here" is the same as go back to your country.
Alien West no i think the issue here is the “you don’t belong here”, if it was really said. If they would have said “you can’t be here” then it wouldn’t have sounded racist.
@Alien West It's only illegal if he is being served and consuming alcohol underage. What if the owner had an 18-year-old son sitting there, not drinking... like just hanging out with his dad? Should he get punched in the face?
@Amanda🙄 You're just reaching, drawing conclusions, looking for something that isn't there. Or maybe something that you want to be there.
@@Ori0n1975 I don't know about you but I've been following every Asian hate crime/incident and I'm familiar with what rhetorics are being used by both sides. There is more than one way to tell someone to "go back to your country." Maybe you need to work on your English comprehension.
I’m Japanese and very proud to be Asian! We asians are not virus!
Where are you getting that from
Of course not. Love y'all pardon our trash though, they let a ton of it out for "Covid" stay well and safe y'all
Hate not for all Asian. It is targeted for Chinese, but the victim was not. If I was in this situation, I will shout out I am Japanese.
@@hangsu5724 😑Jesus fucking Christ. The dude was a customer, could have been racist, drunk or both. Not representative of american society
@@whiqeddik7615 As Chinese immigrants, it is really embarrassed during this pandemic. I pretends to ignore all related news and arguments. Hopefully, American will recover soon and great again. We are ready to take vaccine pretty soon in South Bay
For updates the guy was a white retired boxer he shouldn't have punched but that kid shouldn't have been there this is coming from a 18 person myself that dude had no common sense smh.
The owner probably asked him to leave for being under age, the kid got belligerent, someone else got involved, words were probably exchanged, etc...this might not be a hate crime at all🤔
If this goes to court, then the judgie boy will tell the jury to base the verdict on law. If the jury thinks that it was a hate crime, then that's what the defendant's sentence will match.
You didn't bother to listen to the owner did you? The owner himself said the kid posed no threat and he was surprised why the perp punched the kid.
Your making assumptions to which you are being biased before knowing the true facts! You of all people should know to never Assume.....!!
@@bigfootswatching9986 it's just my opinion and that's why I use the word "probably" several times! What do you think about the people rushing to judgement calling it a hate crime?
Interesting. if the teenager were a rich white kid you probably would give Him the benefit of the doubt? And he probably wouldn’t be punched In the face? Racism is racism, period.
Don't go alone, go with friends.
go with White Friends.

NO,,,,,,,,,I WALK ALONE 🗿🚬
Or don't go at all if you're underaged.
As a asian american, I dont think the bar owner was at wrong. Who wants a kid under 21 at their bar when its going to get them into trouble with law enforcement? People should be going for the one who punched the kid not the bar owner. The bar owner did the right thing by kicking the kid out.
Give me a break. Don’t pull the race card on the owner when he asked him to leave and a random drunk bar patron hit him. He shouldn’t have gotten hit in the face but he should have left when asked.
Oh, you were there? What did he say?
@@MrMusashiMusashi well from the victim’s own mouth if you watched the video, albeit vulgar, “get the **** out of here, you do not belong here”.. since he is not 21, he did not belong there. Nothing about race was mentioned.
So you can’t sit outside to order pizza. Give me a break
@@harry8201 no, apparently you can’t if it’s a bar for 21 and up. Is it that hard to get ? Since when do teenagers walk into bars just for food ? Clearly he didn’t know but he was also asked to leave but refused. Not justifying him getting assaulted but it could’ve all been avoided if he simply left. Nothing racist about this ordeal like the moms trying to paint it as. As for him misinterpreting the “you don’t belong here” part, ffs grow a pair. How sensitive is everyone now a days? I’m against blatant racism but this ain’t it.
If you see how far away from the bar is in the video ...the seating is not even near the bar establishment. Its messed ip that they were even trying to scram that kid with swear words.. this is literally in he street where parking spaces used to be... that is off the sidewalk. How are u so sure the customer was drunk broad daylight.. you literally made that up. Nowhere did anyone say he was drunk. So many excuses for criminals
