I like that Aloha shirt I saw in your wall locker. I served in 1989-2004. Was stationed at Cheyenne Mountain AFB in Colorado Springs, CO. Best years of my life!
Things have changed since I was there in 1980-1984 I was with Security Forces 834th SPS its sure good to see that Hurlburt has really grown.I have a lot of great memories from my time there.I was in the dorm for about 6 months then moved off base to Mary Esther. Thanks for sharing. Best of luck in your future and Thank you for your Service and sacrifices
I lived in the same building in 1990 when it first opened. Back then we had roommates, unless you were career. Also the only furniture we had was the bunk bed, so a big improvement.
Hurlburt was my first duty station. When I got there in 2000, I lived in an old dorm next to The Reef Dining Center. Then after two years, they made a new dorm, next to the BX and Commisary. So I lived in a brand new dorm room, until I PCS'ed to Osan Air Base, South Korea in 2004.
Neat this will be cool to see my self inthe future. Rn i have to go into dallas tx in the morning for my asvab finally. Hopefully i hit the percentage i want to get the position i want in the air force soon
I was stationed at Hurlburt from 1995-1999. The dorm layout is exactly the same except the furnishings have been upgraded. I also had a roommate until I made E-4, the bed was a twin and the fridge was just a mini-fridge. One day I should upload the video of have of my room for a now vs. then comparison.

Love the videos man, I’m in dep right now waiting for a ship date and you actually inspired me to make my own channel about Air Force content, keep up the great work!
Are you allowed to mount things to the wall there? More specifically a TV? I ship out for bootcamp on the 19th this month want to know if its worth packing my TV that has super wide stands that wouldn’t fit on that dresser.
@@TDKus no we have a bunch of bases we could go too but it just so happened they sent us all to the same base so the dream sheet didn’t really mean anything.
Is there a lockout feature for that bathroom so strangers don't walk in your side of your room when you aren't there? I know you said you know your roommate but what if you didn't? Thanks man keep it up
If you have any valuables get a heavy suitcase safe . The repair men have access to your room . They will give you notice their coming .My friends son was robbed while on leave. He doesn’t know anything if it’s them or the roommate. they were changing ac filters. .
How did you bring your stuff to your base. I just signed my contract and never really had this explained. I would like to bring my pc to where ever my first base is.
Would I be able to bring a gun safe with some valuables in it to my dorm when I’m stationed somewhere? And would I be able to have my own gun inside of my dorm if it’s in the safe? Also I’m guessing I can have whatever I want if I live off base
Yes they do when I was there it was about 75 yards from my dorm! You actually could eat 5 different meals a day! You had breakfast, lunch, supper, carry out after supper and midnight chow ( breakfast) that was for change of shifts for fighting maintenance and others from 2nd shift to third! Great food as well!
Just got through MEPS yesterday and got my contract still waiting on a ship date for basic, I know you had said we don’t get the base pass after basic I was wondering do we still get leave after tech school or is it straight to the first duty station?
How does it work? Does the Air Force allow you to go home when you complete Tech School to get your personal belongings to bring to your dorm at your first Duty Station? Do they provide movers to bring your stuff to your dorm or is it all you?
Yes they let you go home and bring it to your duty station after tech school and if you need help I’m more than positive they could send movers to get your stuff to bring it there for you.
As said in a previous comment I posted earlier, I leave on the 19th. If anything changes, just in terms of how bootcamp is and stuff Id love to give you some info on it for future videos to help gain more of a following maybe and stay updated. Apparently covid has everything changing a lot according to my recruiter, supposedly I wont experience the tents or anything. Not much good at making videos myself but you’re clearly pretty talented with it so if anyone is gonna spread the word I feel it should be you rather than me 😂
That sounds great keep me updated and Yes I know tents are no longer a thing in my previous videos I explain I was the first and only flight in bmt history to have to live in tents while starting out.
Great videos. I’d like to know what PT is like since it has changed since COVID. Can you do a video on it? Is it in the new BMTSG? See my channel for the pre-COVID PT.
I have a PT video out from how it was when I went through bmt, but it more than likely changed a little bit bc of covid. But I may possibly put out another video on the new change soon thanks for the input.
40 years ago, we all couldn't wait to get out of the dorm and "on the economy". 75 years ago, my dad couldn't wait to get out of the dorm either. I guess some things never change. This style dorm seems so nice, I would think guys are in less of a hurry to leave than your previous generations were. Of course, I then remember the; no-knock inspections, lack of respect for shift workers, hey-you details, dorm managers prowling through your stuff when you weren't there, etc. Those are probably some of the things which have not changed. BAH (BAQ back in my day) was flat rate, and about $165 for a single A1C. You could rent pretty much nothing for that, so most of us had a roommate or second job to live off base.
Finally, thank you so much for making this video about the base dorm. I’ve been looking for one since it will be my first duty station.
No problem you’re welcome glad it helped out!
Bro thanks for all you do on here I leave for basic soon and you’re the most straight to the point and informative TH-camr

Just what I needed that you ❤
Can you do a video based on your daily schedule? Or what you plan on doing for fun and etc?
Yes forsure I plan on it.
My dad was stationed at Hurlburt from 1996-2000
Looks good bud!
Thanks man just moved in.
Nice shoe collection, Sir! 🔥
Hahaha thanks
Appreciate your video bro
You should make a video on all the stuff you get issued during bmt and after if theres any
You pretty much get your uniforms issued, PT gear and Blues.
That looks awesome man! If you don’t mind me asking, what is your job in the Air Force?
based off his tech school goodfellow he is probably something intel. That would be my guess.
Or a firefighter because they go to Goodfellow as well
@@sethbutler8083 nah he’s definitely intel. He went to tech for 6 months. Fireman is 2

Awesome bro, best of luck on your Journey! Thanks for being a subscriber!
Love the content
Not too shabby. I leave March 9th!
It’s alright, and nice best of luck.
I'm sure you've been told, but it is not an AFB, just a field. When I first got there in 1992, it was technically, Eglin AFB, Auxiliary Field #9.
You motivate me to chase the Air Force dream
Hell yeah brotha!
Are you able to buy a small table top stove? They aren’t that expensive I just wonder if it’s allowed
You’re not technically supposed to in the dorms
Should definitely do a video on your job
I saw some sort of Hemp product in the shower, I thought we weren’t allowed to use hemp products?
That’s body wash, you are allowed to us that lol.
you should make a video on college vs the military
Are you allowed to have one of those little portable stovetop ovens?
Also thanks for the awesome videos!
If you want you could probably buy one. Thanks for watching.
@@AirmanNick You the man, thanks!
Are you allowed to mount things to the wall there? More specifically a TV? I ship out for bootcamp on the 19th this month want to know if its worth packing my TV that has super wide stands that wouldn’t fit on that dresser.
They told me I was only allowed to put a certain size hole in the wall that was pretty small so I made this work.
@airman Nick , yoo is that a internet modem on the floor next to your TV? are you paying for your own internet btw? thanks
Yes, we have to pay for our own wifi I split it with the guy next door.
@@AirmanNick oh for sure, thank u for replying
Congrats on finishing tech school. Was Florida on your dream sheet?
Yes it was my last pick on my list but my entire class got stationed here so it didn’t really even pertain to my list.
@@AirmanNick wow, entire class? how's that possible, your job is limited to a few bases?
@@TDKus no we have a bunch of bases we could go too but it just so happened they sent us all to the same base so the dream sheet didn’t really mean anything.
How did you manage to fit all your shoes and clothes in your luggage?
I drove to my duty station so I threw it all in my truck.
@@AirmanNick gotcha hopefully I can get as much stuff that early on
How do you get your tv from home to your base ? I’m going to want to get my big monitor from home. Did you drive or fly?

could you buy your own funture and take out the milltiry funtire.
You mentioned getting BAS. Is the DFAC not operating?
It’s operating but we aren’t on a meal card at this base so they give us BAS instead because of our hours of work.
hay i really like you viodes i am in yera 9 and i hav been n eagch about join when i leave school but your vidoes have made me wont to join even more
So the Air Force says you don’t have to have a roommate but the army you have to have a roommate ?
When you are in Tech school you have a room mate ? And when you are at your first duty station you get your own room?
Yes I have other videos on the channel check them out! And yes have ur own personal room when u get to ur first duty station!

What are the nicest dorms in the USAF?

Atleast not my room lol
Would I be able to bring a gun safe with some valuables in it to my dorm when I’m stationed somewhere? And would I be able to have my own gun inside of my dorm if it’s in the safe? Also I’m guessing I can have whatever I want if I live off base
Good question you could have the safe but they will not let you have a gun.
Guns checked in @ the armory on your base.
Aye man quick question, why did you have multiple cami’s in your closet and what for? Just to have multiple?
They supply you with all of those while at bmt.
It’s good to have more than one as well
Did Hurlburt not have dining facilities?
Yes they do when I was there it was about 75 yards from my dorm! You actually could eat 5 different meals a day! What sides bed is that
Are you still in Hurlburt field in the dorms??
Just saying u can buy a stove top like one u can put away there small
They say we are not allowed to have that type of stuff. I bought a skillet though.
Buy yourself and electric stove to plug and cook. Also go eat at the dfac, its cheap.
