I'm a Brit living in Malaysia. My Malaysian husband is totally blind.
We had a campervan dream for a while, but it died for various reasons.
However, your show has given us a new perspective.
Seeing Mariyam drive so far reminds me that I can do it. She is an inspiration.
Seeing Chris's enthusiasm for everything he eats and sees reminds me of the joy I can bring my husband, too.
This July, we are taking our Serena MPV and our tandem bike and driving from KL into 3 dates in Thailand.
Thank you for the inspiration.
💖💪
you too are inspirational! We love Malaysia too ❤😊
I hope you have a wonderful time. all the best
Well Samantha - we wish you and hubby some incredible adventures and treasured moments together - You rock and you have got this !! woo hoo - all the best Marianne xx
Best wishes!
I love Thai people. They are so kind.
Some are and some appear to be.
Thank you Sir.
Not much chance of sun cooked Chicken in the UK ...
Certainly not in March!
Of course UK has rainny day more than sunny days 🤣🤣
@@NotImpressed-yr2nz well apparently it tastes good. And fish and chips is also an option!
So cool to see that @paddyDoyle is following you two! Very impressive! He’s a top man, and a fantastic TH-camr! Nice work you guys! 👍🏻💪🏻🙏🏻
Hi Paddy, what a journey Hey, they have more knowledge than Mr King vloging a dead horse anyway 😂
Your wife is a very good driver. Thank you for coming to Thailand. 🇹🇭🙏🙏🤗🤗
The large flock of birds at time stamp 13.47 are Asian Openbill Stork, abundant in Thailand.
Wow - thank you for the info
Spirit houses are intended to provide a home to any “spirits” you may have disturbed when you build your home/business. The roadside flowers sold at traffic lights are for decoration of spirit houses or as decorations/deodorisers for your vehicle.
Hi from Malaysia. Fruits like banana and papaya are usually wrapped with paper / gunny / cloth to stop birds, bats , rodents etc from having a go before the fruits are ripe or semi ripe for plucking. Have been following you since your adventures in Japan. All the best. Tks.
This is brilliant series. Should be on the TV!
The pudding you've got is called "Khanom mo kaeng, " a traditional dessert in Thailand. It's made from egg, coconut milk and palm sugar. It's my favourite one
The Birds looked like migrating Cranes 👍🏻
The little house is called spirit house. Some people believe that there are spirit every, so they built a house for the spirit.
9:20 believe it or not, the bridge name, Resak Tembage is written malay words, after the name of a high quality hardwood timber species called Resak Tembaga. I believe the bridge is made by using Resak timber as main material.
That was over too quickly, as usual. Really enjoying. our trip through Thailand. So many surprises. Hugs from Australia. 🙏💓💓
Why you not make AC work. Bangkok have a lot of AC shop to that may can repaire your AC. Or side road lokking for sign "แอร์" it mean AC shop.
I have no idea how they can drive without AC, he said it 35C in the van.😢
Awesome video as always Chris and Marianne. Y'all always find the most beautiful and unique places on y'all's journey. And the most unique food and people the sun cooked chicken and pork looked so delicious and it's such a unique way of cooking. Thanks for letting us ride along with y'all on y'all's journey around the world.
Thank you for coming !! 🌺
Loved the solar panels to roast the chicken! Genius idea! ❤
I learned something new from you! Love the journey. Hope that you and Marion explore more. Take care.
Solar cooking looks amazing
The fruit which you saw on a passing fully-loaded truck is Jackfruit. If you pass Mae Klong or Samut Songkram, try some seafood there. "Don Hoi Lod" is a place to visit.
It's been an amazing episode as always. New experience for us as well. Chicken cooked with solar power. The birds, the old bridge and so forth... May be one day may be... We'll follow your footsteps and share our experiences inspired through yours... Enyoj, and keep people enjoy...
People also buy the flowers to put around there front mirror
Hi .most cars trucks in thailand bye flowers for the spirits of the road . You will see them hanging from the central mirror. 20 bhat. Ask for mali it will make trudy smell nice inside
Loving the videos from Thailand, nice to view how people live in the country
Loved the latest vlog Chumporn to Huahin
When you crossed the railway line on the outskirts I knew exactly where you were
The hotel where you stayed was just along the road from where Pok used the get her crabs from
The following day leaving you drove right past the multi pool place we stayed at last winter
Shame you didn't spend more time in Huahin there's some nice spots there
Thank you for sharing nice memories
Fantastic to follow your experience through Thailand.Love the unique sun fried chicken feature.
Wishing you well in manic Bangkok!😮
Welcome to Chumphon Thailand ❤
Hi
Just like to inform you in regards to your comments about ‘those little temples’, they are actually not a temple at all but a spirit house to host any spirits that might be wandering around so they do not enter their house or homes. Usually the owners always offer them some food & flowers etc., to keep it happy outside their entrance
Oh, what a genius idea! I am going to make one for my backyard here in the states to keep those wondering spirits at bay. Such a simple sign of generosity, beautifully giving to something you may never see… ❤
And dont forget the red fanta drink,.
That's the Arboreal termites nest
Yes in Namibia are lots of termite hills "miershope" in Afrikaans
We will be back to see some more !!
So fun being out and about with you. Great to see you are still at it. Enjoyed Thai videos.
And congratulations on your massive subscribers
They're currently putting those wires underground in Bangkok, and then across Thailand. You may see the work going on when you visit 👍
its either Cempedak or Jackfruit thats loaded onto that lorry
The size and shape of those fruits suggest that they're jackfruits. Cempedak will be much thinner and smaller in size.
That big green fruit is called Cempedak. If you see deep fried banana fritters and other deep fried balls of goodness that's where you'll find it. It's amazing.
All the best. Wish you a safe & pleasant trip ahead.. I've been enjoying your videos and eagerly waiting for the next ones..
❤
Sawasdee Krub! 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Safe travel, good luck.
Thank you for video.🌹
I love Thailand ❤❤❤❤
Another interesting video, love my Sundays! Thankyou for sharing with us. Takecare Love Rose xx
Thanks for joining us Rose xx
Epic, amazing and interesting, very informative ❤❤❤ thank you 🎉
Cooking chicken with mirrors…it’s a moment to reflect upon. BTW, if the sap from a rubber tree leaks onto the road, I guess that’s where the rubber hits the road 😂
Great Video guys love it
That Sun cooked chicken is really cool, did they say how long it would take to cool a full chicken?
Yes - 12 mins !!
Thanks guy's for another awesome episode! Hope your both well and doing fine!? Safe travels 🙏
Those flowers they sell on the street at the traffic lights, the locals actually hang them in their cars for the refreshing smell. You should try them. They should be 20-50 bahts each depending on size.
Thats not the purpose of the flowers
Not just for the smell - they're for luck for the car.
Goid day to you both from new zealand.
Ive been checking in for a couple of hours for our next adventure. Wow. What a fantastic idea.
Safe travels.
What a journey. You are in. Keep it coming. Had been following your drive for awhile now. Hope you get what you. required to go through China 🇨🇳 . They wrap up fruits like papaya and Jack fruits to keep Bird and Bats from attacking them.
Enjoy your travels great
Wow...i hope to see more sun-cooked food in future!
You guys are brave. Expats driving in Thailand are not common.
Thailand is dead easy to drive around? Same side of the road as the UK so just need to watch for mad scooters animals etc oh and the u turns 😂
We have done over 30k driving in Thailand in the last 12 months, with Chiangrai as a base everywhere is a long way.
LOVE IT GUYS KEEP UP THE GREAT STORY TELLING LOVE YOU TWO
Fantastic job solar panels to cook chicken❤❤😂🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Hi I'm Thai but live in UK I love vanlife so much but it has to be in UK and Europe. You both are brave to do that around the world trip especially doing a trip in Thailand ❤😅 enjoy and stay safe ❤❤
Is Thai a safe place to go on van? I’m asking since you are Thai and assuming you grew up there, you’d have first hand knowledge about its safety. I’m visiting Chiang Mai at the moment. ❤
As a vanlifer I won't do it in Thailand as not much of security to park up anywhere like we do in Europe 😅
@@emunahPiCar break ins or stealing are very rare in Thailand but it will get some time to used to the way people drive especially in congested area. I'd suggest flying to provincial airport then rent a car to travel around open road rather than drive it out of Bangkok.
@@emunahPiIt's absolutely safe.
It is safe. Just not as convenient as in the west in terms of campgrounds that have water and electricity connections. A lot less breakins than the U.S. for sure.
You saw a thermite nest on the tree.
our Sunday night fix! amazing as usual! :)
Thanks !
ขอบคุณครับที่เที่ยวเมืองไทยนะ 🥰🥰🥰
The flower that selling on the road is used to pray for thier vehicle for good luck.
I hope you both enjoy the journey.
the flowers you saw selling on the road was actually for the cars. Thet would hang them on the rearviewmirror
Yes and smell nice.
At 7:13 it looked like a half abandoned forest part / botanical garden. There's actually quite a few of them in Thailand.
May you travel with good luck, safety, no obstacles and happiness.
Covered papaya is protect it from insect bite which can spoil the fruit
incredible solar power used to baking the batch chickens and a wonderful looking the owner of that beautiful restaurant .
I'd go along with the notion of a wave changing stares into a smile and a wave in response. I drive a mid height coachbuilt and have been off the beaten track in various places, received numerous "What on earth are you doing here" look. Give them a smile and a wave and get the same in return. There was only one exception and I get the impression that he was a few litres short of a tankful. 🤣🤣
The flowers you put on the back mirror and arround the steering wheel ❤
I cycled across south east Asia and every morning in Thailand I had noodles or rice for breakfast,it gave me energy and I would have a laugh and a joke with the locals because they thought I was crazy, so good luck to you guys, keep smiling
Try and get to the train market at maeklong if possible just outside Bangkok
Those big green fruits are looks like “Durians”.
Taste good but smell takes that you will never forget.
เดินทางปลอดภัยครับ
Welcome to thailand.
The little tempels outside people's house are ghost houses. What they build for the spirits what got disturbed when they built the main house. The flowers they sell at traffic lights are to hang from your rear view mirror for good luck... Keep the videos coming, fully enjoying them and watching your travels
Resak tembaga is the name of a kind of wood, maybe the bridge was made of that and very expensive :)
Termites . They can make huge nests. The Mayan people used to crush the termites into a pulp and rub it on to the skin to repel mosquitos, and it does.
Wow !
Be safe my friends stay blessed ❤❤❤❤
Always remember if someone is flashing the headlights at you that means they ask you ,they want to go first it’s opposite in UK
🎉……I can hardly wait to follow this wonderful journey.……👍👍👍
You need to clean your wiper blades with vinegar.
Stop that grinding sound ❤❤❤
Love your show ❤️ 💕
Thanks for the tip
Thanks, Chris
The 'solar grilled chicken's is a wonderful discovery indeed!...😇
A very good cold morning from London 👍👋 smashing that like me and Yorkie Lucy
The shrines outside the homes and businesses are spirit houses. They pay homage to the ancestors that were there before. Great video guys!
We’ll come 🙏
Lovely to see the scenery on the back roads. Those spirit houses outside every house and condo' where offerings are left are referred to as "San phra poom". You will have passed Pak Thale after the salt pans, which is a world famous area for seabird watchers. The endangered Spoonbilled Sandpipers migrate along that coast. Rama 2 road into Bangkok can be pretty awful due to the road works!
So pleased you met up with Paddy !
Those people that sell the flower beets on the road. Are for the cars, Thai buy it. Do a little pray, then they put in the middle mirror hanging. At the same time, those flower. Has flowering scent. If you put it next to the air con. It will make the whole car smell great. But, it depend of what type they sell. Some people cant stand the smell of it. Those flower is not just for the shrine.
You must try the seafood in hua hin it's fantastic!
Excellent video thread the globe
What a interesting adventure both of u r having. Really love n enjoy following u guys. Can't wait for yr next video to be out.🥰
Those are the mass Raptors, spring migration from mid February and lasts till mid April over the hottest March Equinox months. All types of birds flying back north to Siberia for their mating season.
one related story about bowls capturing drippings from trees. in my visit to the island of cozumel off the yucatan peninsula of mexico, there was a museum. one exhibit was a story of a mister wrigley visiting from chicago USA. he had found a use for what what he was draining from trees there. it was paraffin and he came up with his brand of chewing gum from that discovery.
Amazing, we had same Situation in Bodrum
Interesting video today. I enjoyed watching it. Regarding that 'termite mound' - I'm uncertain if this is accurate, but I've long heard you can eat termite mounds. I was told you could break off a little piece and eat it. It's a bit sweet and savory. I understand it's very tasty, too. Perhaps viewers from Thailand know more about this. The solar chicken cooker was a great find! :>)
Wow you guys are the modern version of Marco Polo.
Birds in trees, probably crane's and fruit on truck is jack fruit or dorien fruit
The large flock of birds in flight are Asian Open Bill Storks. Big waders and beautiful in flight. The large green fruit on the truck were definitely jackfruit. Durian are much more spiky. The Jackfruit inside are yellow waxy fruit which you can eat raw or use in cooking eg Jackfruit Curry. Durian are softer and creamy inside. I prefer durian to jackfruit. I am British but resident in Thailand for 18 years.
Yum blimmin, Yum!
8:23 , 11:03 It's termites.
Loving your adventures enjoy Thailand, I do it’s a great place to live.
I went scrolling trough your videos & quickly thought you might end up in Hua hin! & yes you did! I spend 4 weeks there exactly one year ago and loved it. Hua Hin & Cha am! Good continuation guys! Safe travels! 🎉
I think the prickly fruits are called Durian.
เป็นวีดีโอที่ดี เดินทางปลอดภัย ชอให้มีความสูข ใน ประเทศไทย
