I may be a primarily a snowboarder but you and Cody Townsend have my favorite riding content on any platform. I love that I can really get close to an experience of a backcountry trip especially with aspects like the on-the-fly planning that you normally wouldn’t see in a traditional ski film. Incredible work as always and I can’t wait to experience back country touring like this one day

Niko, judging by some of your Instagram posts, you have a ton on your plate, so you may not have time to do this kind of video all the time. But I'm sure I'm one of many who would gladly sign up for a Patreon or something like that to have access to this kind of content on a regular schedule. Just ludicrously good all-around.

I grew up in extreme mountains and already by the age of three riding down steep couloirs and being a professionel skier in my youth. But compared to your cracyness I've got the feeling I missed the main part. But since I have kids I don't dare anything.... I'm even biking carefully, wtf! Please take care and don't go more extreme each time! Contents with nature & environment are very attraktive too! Good Luck!

Nikolai, what are your thoughts on skiing exposed terrain with your ice axe? I understand that holding your ice axe while skiing is not the best option, so I thought this season I would keep the head of my axe loose on a gear loop on my pack's hip belt, so I could just slide it out if need be. I notice you have yours strapped back up to the back of your pack for the decent, do you ever feel sketchy not having quick access to it for the decent?
Hi Noah, So actually you can grab it pretty quick from you backpack. At least on these lofoten 30L pack. You can do it with one hand just grabbing back and unclip it. That's worked well for me so far. Your options sounds good though. You could also try the Chamonix method that Lars uses here (at 6:21): vimeo.com/62288955
