    Great video. Now, if I can just get all my gutter corners sitting on a table, it will be a breeze to repair.

    Thank you. I almost did the dumb thing and used flex seal. I ordered One tube of what you recommended. Lol I should’ve watched further in your video and realized how much you were using. Had to turn around and order a five pack. And thanks for the tip at the end because I was going to skip the wire brush and get what I needed for my drill. Now I have to shop for a wire brush :-) thanks to you I’ll get the job done right now I really appreciate you taking the time to put in this video up

    I removed even the old sealant the previous home owner used and brushed the joints down to bare metal. Didn’t use flex seal but I did use the gorilla glue rubberized spray version and my gutters are still going strong 4 years later in central FL. Can’t speak on flex seal but the gorilla brand is great

    Great video! Thanks for the info on the sealant that you prefer and why! Love the small wire brush. A little elbow grease never hurt anyone, if you only have a one or two to repair. Again, great tips.

    Those old sealants can be hard as concrete. Use a heat gun and a putty knife, it makes this job so much easier.

      I searched the jungle website for "hot chisel" but this device hasn't been invented yet. Think I'm going to try a really long chisel and heat the end with a torch and see if that method works. Probably won't since the heat will run up the metal and burn through my welders glove and won't be able to get a decent grib with a vice grip on the end of the chisel.

      I used a torch on low and a putty knife. Comes off easy. Doesn't need much heat to soften up. Finished up a wire brush in my drill, beats manually brushing.

    Thank you! After a winter of several warm spells followed by severe freezes, multiple corners on the eaves are leaking this spring. A local store recommended the product you find not so great. Thanks for teaching how to do a good job and what product will last.

    Thank you. Very helpful for car leaks, too, where metal pieces bond. I didn't catch the name of the other sealant besides Geoseal. Sounded like Astooroof. (?)

      I believe he said “Through the Roof” which evidently (I just googled it) is a general purpose roofing sealant by SashCo.

    I think it would be a good idea to cover the cured sealant with a flexible flashing tape that builders use. Maybe even multiple layers to protect the sealant from UV rays and extend the life.

      Covering it up may prevent it from ever drying out, May speed up disintegration.

    I’m not throwing shade bro, but your heavy glue seams will create damming issues with debris. Geocel 2300 clear is a great product that I don’t need to build so heavy after a good scraping and cleaning

    What I never understood is how, with the MOUNDS of goop in there, does the water flow past it? Which I feel may be the cause of the issues in the first place.

    Looks easy, what about when hangers and the roof in the way. Better off just replacing the gutter.

    I got the GS121 gutter sealant and it says it is not recommended to tool or smear sealant like you do in the video. DO you think it would work without smearing it and just putting a thick bead on? Not sure what to do...

  • @biglon74
    @biglon74 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Why are the beads so high? I slwsys see water and material backed up because it can't get over bead

    • @teaker08

      If you can, use gutter sealant. Seal inside your parts and the outside. Shouldn't have to worry for many years to come

    This is how not to reseal a corner. Is that your toothbrush 😅 First off get a wire brush for your drill, but be careful not to burn a hole in the metal. Get rid of all of the old goop better to get down to bare metal, you will get a better adhesion, then you goop it. Put tons of 2320 its self levels make sure to taper the ends of the joints to zero so water cant get under the joint and lift it.

    • @StartARainGutterBusiness

      We would not recommend using roof cement. We use Geocel 2320 Sealant

      You can also buy gutter sealant at a local hardware store, just make sure they are designed for the same material as your gutter.

    I have leaking gutter joins and the gutters are only a couple of years old. Its very very had to clean properly because my roof is a tin roof and it overlaps the gutter a bit. Very hard to gut my hand or brush right at the back of the join :(

      @StartARainGutterBusiness  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Those spots are tough! Gloves help and we also use this Makita 90 degree angle impact amzn.to/2UelK1d with a wire wheel to tune the joints

    That must be the worst internal corner I have seen. The top lip has a huge gap

  • @haroldfreeburn134

    How does that work when you are 6 m. off the ground and the gutter is obscured by 5 cm of shingle over hang and a ragged sharp corner deflector. Not finding fault but not really real world.

    • @StartARainGutterBusiness
      @StartARainGutterBusiness  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is defiantly a simplified example, we just wanted to show you the concepts we use to reseal joints effectively. We plan on making a video that will demonstrate doing all these principles on an actual house in the future!
